  1. email clientBest Email Client For GmailReplying to BitShiftI am otherwise ok with a web-based client. But (silly enough reason) I want a client whose icon I can identify among my umpteen browser windows (on mac). Also, it'd be good to have off-line access to email. And I am talking about only my gmail account. So, mailplane may be an alternative, except it costs money. Any other advice?

  3. Everyone knows that stress relief is becoming more important as our world becomes increasingly stressful. Quick decision making and logical reasoning are huge assets in life. Assets that can be improved with video games. Also, logical thinking is, sadly, a skill that seems to be mostly ignored in public education these days. Its truly sad, because finely tuned logical abilities are critically important in our world. Nearly all video games train your mind in thinking logically. So tell me its a complete waste of time.

  7. First of all, nobody is going to do your homework for you. If you have questions, you should ask your teacher/instructor/professor. That said, I'll give you a few suggestions for things to look at:-You need to have a basic understanding of how forms work. Read this: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ need to have a basic understanding of how to read form data in php. See:http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ http://de2.php.net/manual-lookup.php?pattern=search.phpAnd〈=de&scope=404quickref yes, you can output the form in the same php script that you submit that form to. If you have other questions, email your teacher. Nobody here is going to help you cheat any more than your teacher would, and by asking your teacher you'll know what s/he actually expects.
  8. Maybe if you taped up EVERY POSSIBLE LITTLE CRACK THAT ANY MICROPARTICLE COULD POSSIBLY GET IN you MIGHT be able to do it. If you took it apart and took every faceplate off, you could do it.It's really not worth it though. I'm pretty sure nintendo.com would sell you a faceplate for it for like, $15; Best Buy would probably have one too.
  9. There are more technical factors that influence the bandwidth. First of all, the cable between you and the street cabinet can only handle a certain amount of bandwidth, the longer the cable, the less the bandwidth it can handle. There is no way to get more bandwidth out of a cable by using software tweaks. Another factor that influences the available bandwidth is the bandwidth between the ISP and the street cabinet. If everyone connected to the same street cabinet is downloading big files, then it might happen that the line between the street cabinet and the ISP becomes saturated. Since the bandwidth is shared, this means that everybody will receive less bandwidth.Of course, the other side is limiting speeds too, even if you have a high speed optic fiber connection, downloading will be slow if the server at the other side is connected to the internet using a 56k modem. Slow hops will of course limit speed too.Returning to the software tweaks, single- or multithreaded applications can only speed up downloads if the connection between you and 'a' server is limited. This is best explained with an example: let?s say we have 2 servers with a 100kbps uplink and you have a 100kbps downlink. Using download accelerators won't speed up anything. However, if you have a 200kpbs downlink, then you can speed up things by combining the uplinks from the two servers. I've already said this very often, but the only way to get faster internet is by upgrading your internet connection (get a faster connection, get fiber optics, combine ADSL with ISDN using load balancing.
  10. Check out one of Daddis Fight Camps three locations, depending on where you live. They have one in Philly, Cherry Hill NJ, and Hamilton NJ. I have been going for about a year and they not only offer Muay Thai classes taught by Lumpinee and world champions but they also offer Gi and no Gi BJJ, MMA, western boxing and a Tactical Urban Defense course that resembles Krav Maga! Check out their website at http://daddisathletics.instapage.com/

  16. Dish Network sucks. I signed up a year ago and my company has decided to relocate me to our midwest office. I called them to request cancellation and to return my receiver. After going through multiple offers of 'transferring my service', I am then told I will have a cancellation fee of $210 because I am breaking my contract. I remind them that I initiated service one year previously and they informed me that I have a 2 year contract and cancelling violates that and therefore a $210 fee is required. I then ask for a copy of this contract because I don't sign agreements for anything that is longer than 1 year given the nature of my job and need to move. I am then transferred to a higher level who can provide this contract and lo and behold, they can't actually access it right now and can provide to me in 7-10 business days. I am told then that they will be happy to pursue this and if in fact, there is no signed contact, I will only have to pay the $99 activation fee that was waived when I accepted their special deal for 2 years, because they would never give a 'no commmitment, no contract' agreement without charging the $99 activation fee. So basically, they are telling me that if there is no signed agreement, they have the right to charge me for the activation fee one year later. That seems to be a bit of a scam if you ask me? Why would I pay you for something I didn't agree to? That I didn't sign a 'contract' for? And how do they have the right to enforce something that was not agreed to by the receiving party? I wouldn't have paid $99 to activate a network that, in my case, already existed thanks to my landlord. And don't get me started on the service I received for the year anyway. It's less than your average cable and the system is not at all intuitive. You pay a premium to receive subpar technology and yet they don't understand why I don't want to transfer my service to my new home.
  17. Honey is good for many ailments including eye problems. I use Isis Cosmeceuticals honey chamomile drops and msm drops for my eyes. I originally bought them to cure my ichy dry eyes but I have noticed my eye color is also lighter. So I guess what they say is true.
  18. Sword 2 is a good one. I think it is recently new. Or Allods online which has some really sick graphics. You can try freelikegames.comtoo. They have 5 games like World of Warcraft that are apparently free to play online. P.S. Runescape is not that bad haha
  19. changing windows 7 boot sequenceCustom Windows Boot ScreenI'm after changing my win7 boot sequence, I'm looking to overhaul my copy of windows to something not designed to be so boringly plane. The boot screen for 98 can be done with all those, best to have se though since the first edition is really just a cleaned up beta with such little to it, I know as I have from dos 1.1 to windows 8 including windows 1 - 3 series windows 95 - xp series, and even longhorn to 8 series, with server 2000 - 2008/home server. I'm just looking for some ideas on the funny video sequences on vista to 8. -reply by spectre
  20. Here's what I did, which works perfectly. I have a hidden input on my page called reloadValue. This will hold the date value (milliseconds) that's created by the function. If the control is empty when the page loads, the value is loaded into the control. If the control DOES have a value, and that value doesn't match the value just generated, the control is emptied and the page reloads. Note that I'm using jQuery, and telling the body to show in the IF statement. I have set the style of the body to display: none, so that it won't appear to load twice to the user--it just appears when we're all done with the (final) load. $(document).ready(function() { var d = new Date(); d = d.getTime(); if ($('#reloadValue').val().length == 0) { $('#reloadValue').val(d); $('body').show(); } else { $('#reloadValue').val(''); location.reload(); } }); Cheers! Jay

  22. Norton Internet Security 2012My experience with Norton 2009NIS 2012 is the worst I have ever used. It slowed my PC to such an extent that it took 3 minutes to boot and 4 minutes to shut down. Programs were horrific to use.I uninstalled and loaded AVG Internet Security 2012 and I'm in heaven. Absolutly no adverse effect on speed is now noticed. THANKS FOR AVG -reply by Neville
  23. I live in Hong Kong and I had this high pitched noise in my head for 5 years starting in 2006. The noise is definitely in my head and not from the ears as all the doctors suggested. When I first had it, I could not sleep for days and my blood pressure shot up to 200. Hearing tests, xray, magnetic resonance (MR) of the head, sleep tests yield nothing abnormal. Sometimes even I get to sleep I was woken up by this very loud noise at 3 or 4 am. Standing up however reduces the noise. Finally I came across a Neurologist who prescribed me 2 drugs: Tanakan and Deanxit. After taking these two medications the noise damps down and I can have a sleep. I now titrate it to the minimum dosage. The Neurologist however was not too sure of the cause. I am also suspecting that 3G is the cause because the timing matches the time when 3G was introduced in Hong Kong. I will do some experimentation to check it out, e.g. going to places where there is no electromagnetic radiation. If proven my plan is to construct my room like a Faraday cage.

  25. The reasons listed above are not the only reasons for proxies. I am a student at a Jobcorps (a governemnt based school) and the blocks they have up prevent Facebook and certain web searches. the same as any school. Unfortunately my school is also crazy. Whenever something is blocked it is under a category to why it is blocked: media, streaming, videos, social networking, ect. But then there are some really weird blocks. I personally have been blocked from inspirational-quotes.com for Category: QUESTIONABLE!! Many of the categories that pop up on me are : education, health, unknown, and even NONE. That is why some people want proxies, not to *BLEEP* around all the time, but to baby actually get some work done. and btw... the proxies listed abouve do not work on JC computers. Thank you
