The Human Appendix Might Have A Use After All
iGuest replied to Saint_Michael's topic in Health & Fitness
Living Longer as a species. The Human Appendix Might Have A Use After AllOne of the things we constantly hear is that modern science will help us live longer. The prior blog comment was completed with a wish for that scientific success; longer life spans. The counter issue to longer life spans and healthier lives is more people on the planet ! ! ! More mouths to feed, more trash to clean up, more population peaceful co-existence in the face of limited resources conflict to deal with. We only have a few years to figure out the pollution and exploitation balance...Or it will likely be too late for this species...Maybe ice cap melting and worldwide flooding (70% of population lives in cities by the sea that are low lying areas) and the famine and disruption that follows will reduce the planet's population issue...If we're not smart enough to pre-act to live smarter on this Earth. -
Help, My Laptop Charger Is Not Working Properly
iGuest replied to torres1287's topic in Hardware Workshop
Same ProblemHelp, My Laptop Charger Is Not Working ProperlyI also found broke wires near the cord end that plugs in the computer. However, there is not enough room to peel the cover back due to the cylindrical knot made into the cord. What is this item? Can it be removed or wired around.-reply by mcg207Keywords: -
Aim Hacking My experiance with a hacker
iGuest replied to iGuest's topic in Security issues & Exploits
AIM HACKING IS SERIUS STUFFAim Hackinghi I was once an AIM support agent, and I know a lot about AIM and AOL and I can say only this after a certain piont in the last couple years (after I was laid off with many others) AIM/AOL have tightened up there security to the max. They now have a remote shutodown wich can simply terminate your account. You can always make another but don't keep trying suspicius things that AIM/AOL can easly notice because they can also put an IP ban, wich means you can never get another AIM OR AOL email. so my advice to anyone who wishes to hack people for revenge or any other personal reasons is to just don't DO IT ITS NOT WORTH IT -reply by guestKeywords: -
If you're looking for a Windows All-in-One Web Server (Windows Apache MySQL PHP). I highly recommend Uniform Server which is configured in a ready to use state in live production and is usually ahead of all the other All-in-One packages when it comes to updating their software. If you're looking at competing with Facebook, be sure to check out the OpenSocial API which will help in creating your social network quicker, as well as being capable of interacting with other social networks that use the API too. Cheers, MC

it was never easy...Best Ways To Make Money In RunescapeI think that there never was an easy way to make money pk is on and you can get a good profit but that requires time and skills :] I think magic logs and unicorn horns are good (magics are 1.4k or so right now and unicorn horns are 1.7k... Yes I know I just got them less than 30 mins ago..) fishing woodcutting and mining also good I guess but not many runes are worth a lot now... So runecrafting is out of the question What I do is go cut magic logs in Camelot and bank at Legends Guild or Camelot bank (depending on what location I'm at 'cuz there are 2 locations to cut magics) If I'm nearest Camelot bank I also kill unicorns while waiting for the trees to sprout up... Easy 1k :] so by the end I'll have around 40k cash for full inventory of magics and unicorn horns (it'd be about 2-4 horns and about 24-26 logs in about than a week I got full Saradomin armour, whip and dragon hatchet 'cuz of the magics and unicorn horns :] oh yea making planks is also good money :] Another way is to get about 30 cooking and make gnome dishes and gnome cocktails than sell at GE- a lot of people do gnome restaurant mini game for the good rewards but don't really like to make it before hand or even after they get the order As for the h8ers lol funny comments >.< RS is not ruined-for those who liked wild ya-but wat about the people doing quest or running runes in wild... They lost a lot of money for that.As for trade limit... Its not 3k only if your a noob that doesn't do the quest I have 206 quest points *lvl 98 combat* and I have a trade limit of 46.461 The drop trade thing sucks cuz I got like 10m on my lvl 23 which is horrible cuz I want my money back. Its good that we get some time to go back to where we died to get items I mean losing like full dragon or something anyone would be devestated but now they're glad that they have time to go back to pick up their lost items<p>if u want add me- ill usually be in world 156 cutting magics and killing unicorns I'm not kidding though I've been there for about 4 weeks now :] and I have 6m from there so far plus full sara :] Rs name is----> 3strellita23 -reply by 3strellita23

Converting Html 4.01 Sites To Xhtml 1.0
iGuest replied to FirefoxRocks's topic in Websites and Web Designing
One of the things not mentioned in this is serving the correct mime-type for XHTML. Here's a PHP script that I wrote to serve the correct mime-type, but only if the browser supports it. It also serves the right mime-type to web bots, which a lot of the scripts on the internet do not cater for, so this would definitely help you pass W3C validation. <?phpdefine('CHARSET', 'UTF-8');if(!defined(DATE_RFC2822)) { define('DATE_RFC2822', 'D, d M Y H:i:s O');}$isXHTML = false;$content_type = 'text/html; charset=' . CHARSET;if(!isset($_SERVER['HTTP_ACCEPT']) || strpos($_SERVER['HTTP_ACCEPT'], 'xhtml')) { $isXHTML = true; $content_type = 'application/xhtml+xml; charset=' . CHARSET; header('Content-Type: ' . $content_type);}header('Expires: ' . gmdate(DATE_RFC2822, gmmktime(0, 0, 0, 1, 1, 1970)));header('Last-Modified: ' . gmdate(DATE_RFC2822, getlastmod()));header('ETag: "' . dechex(getmyinode()) . '-' . dechex(filesize($_SERVER['SCRIPT_FILENAME'])) . '-' . dechex(getlastmod()) . '"');if($isXHTML) { echo '<' . '?xml version="1.0" encoding="' . CHARSET . '"?' . '>' . "\n";}?> There are bits in this code that are not needed like sending the headers for Expires, Last-Modified or ETag, but I thought I would leave them in here just if anyone wanted them. I also echo the XML preprocessing line since you had to do it this way because IE6 would be thrown into Quirks mode if it was there. So, it's only served to browsers that support XHTML. Cheers, MC -

C.s Source Tweaks And Tips improve fps and performance
iGuest replied to wreack's topic in Computer Gaming
Counter strike source on an old computer.C.s Source Tweaks And TipsHi, I want to play CSS on my computer, it's an old toshiba tecra, it's got a 1.4ghs processor, 512mb ram and 64mb graphics card, CS does play, but it has a really bad framerate, I tried some console conmands that have been posted, but none made much difference, I'm not quite sure if I'm entering them right or what... So if you could explain again how to enter them properly it would be good. And if you have any more that can change it a lot. thanks. -question by Jim. -
I was meant to come back to this post ages ago, forgot all about it. My new test demo is at: Test Demo 2 Now I've had reports of some strange activity in IE though I'm not sure what they are as I don't have IE to test. Hopefully this works better for Firefox and Opera now. The whole idea was to create something that looks like a dropdown menu using an unordered list. Cheers, MC

Prove Yourself As A Python Coder - Challenge Site
iGuest replied to warbird1405241485's topic in Programming
Hey starscream,You are right about it being hard, as they don't give you clues to how to answer it properly and I do hate assumption at times, but sometimes it's the only logical choice you can make.Just because you cannot pass the challenges, does not mean you're not a good programmer. Myself I don't consider myself a Python programmer, I know the language but not like other languages which I've had years more experience with. I usually rely on what knowledge I have from other languages and try to work the same way from those languages, even if it's not the efficient way for Python. There would be some python programmers who haven't completed these challenges, yet they are capable of creating great work in the python field. These challenges are just testing what you know. You can always return back later and try again and see if you've furthered your learning. For me, posting my solutions here so I can refer back to them later, so that if I learn something new that makes the code better, I can come back and post an alternative solution that would be better and help others benefit more. However, my amusement for these challenges seems to go after doing the first few. As in my posts, I am wanting to explain my code but feel it's not right if I spoil the challenges for others. They will only spoil it themselves if they look at my spoilers.Cheers,MC -

We are now on the third challenge. The title is . This is an acronym for so I believe the task is to Again with most of these challenges there is a picture and a hint below it. This picture is of an The hint suggests: So this hint suggests we should be looking elsewhere. So on viewing the I notice another hint: and below it is This seems to be quite a testing challenge, and the clues are very vague. Maybe we will try as much of the clues to do as possible for this code. Challenge 2 If I wasn't too concern about spoiling the challenges, I would explain my steps a lot better. Cheers, MC -
Alright, just before I start, I'd like to say that I'm rather young. Not 16 and not 12... Somewhere in between. But I really do enjoy this kind of discussion/opinion posts, so here goes: Personally, I think space exploration is beneficial and worthwhile. I'm not being influenced by anyone to say this; I read, I analyze, I get my thoughts out on my own. Why do I say space exploration is good? One thing for sure is that it helps satisfy some part of the natural human feeling: curiosity (this word is being used a lot... Is anyone tired of seeing it? xP). We want to broaden our horizons and absorb as much knowledge as we can. It helps us grow as a person, and during the process, we just may discover something useful that helps our race or helps us understand our universe. Oh, wait now-- haven't we already discovered great things like, say, the PLANETS in our solar system? Learning about our world and what's around it is pretty crucial to our understanding of how things work. Not to offend anyone here, but why do a certain number of people believe we spend too much on NASA and not enough money to help the poor when a good number of them spend around $600 billion on gambling PER YEAR? Frankly, I think they should just quiet up and seriously check out the facts once in a while, 'cause it doesn't look good on them. And the annual sales on holiday season gifts? $5 billion... For pets alone, not for the poor. Kinda outrageous, don't you think? And that's nearly six times more than what NASA spent on its Martian explorers, Spirit and Opportunity. Don't get me wrong; I LOVE pets. But is it really necessary to spoil them with little booties or bowties and the likes when all they really need is food, water, a place to live in, and some great masters who will give them some TLC? What wua05 said at the very top about how much money is spent is something that I was pleased to see: "Many people believe that the money that is spent on space exploration is used unwisely. It is also said that the government should use the money for space exploration on feeding the poor. When the money used on NASA projects is totaled, the sum seems like an astounding number. In contrast, the federal government of the United States spends less than one percent of its budget on space exploration. More than thirty percent of its budget goes to helping the poor." So who says people aren't helping the poor? But enough of this. What are the benefits? New inventions and technology affects just about every one of us, but I believe it to be more so for the newer generations. We are all living in a technological environment; cell phones, computer, television, etc. But where did they come from, the sky? Nup. Well, sort of. NASA's space program is the answer. The cordless drill Black and Decker has offered the public two years before NASA? Says Daniel Lockney: "...NASA did work with Black and Decker, and the collaboration did lead to a stronger, longer-lasting battery." And you know the thermometers inserted in people's ears? It was initiated by scientists who wanted to measure the radiation from stars and planets. That's pretty cool, I think. But those aren't really anything compared to other things that have come out of space exploration. Take for example the panoramic views sports (and other) channels have where they have plays from all angles. That's based on robotic gigapan camera technology, used to create images of Mars' landscape from digital photos taken by space probes. Now, I could go on, but I don't quite feel like it. Search it up. Anyway, think about it: if these are just few of the things that have come out of space projects/exploration, imagine what could happen years from now. Yes, I agree that we should care for ourselves and our home planet, but can't we do that side by side with space exploration and research? It wouldn't hurt to give that a shot, would it? So, yeah... I don't have much more to say. Okay, I do, but I'm afraid if I keep typing my fingers will fall off from the work. =P -reply by StayGold

How Long Can A Man Live Without Water? How Long Can A Man Live Without Water?I agree with the post about the people who drink the juice of some plant. I personally don't drink straight water and haven't except in very small amounts in the last 20 years and even prior I certainly didn't get close to the 8 per day. The fact is that food and other beverages contain water that the body needs to survive so this is a bit misleading in the title.-reply by Jonathan

Does this guy like me?How To Tell A Person Likes YouThere is this guy, and I really want to know if he likes me or not. These are the thing he does: 1. While on a museum tour, I caught him several times staring, but as soon I as I looked at him he turned away. He has done this repeadedly, until I got tired of looking. 2. He constantly tries to brush up against me 3. Tries his best to make me laugh (Funny accents, weird jokes, I tend to laugh at those the most) 4. Always talks to me 5. When we are alone, and his friend is like playing on the computer, he starts talking, and he built a mini fire pit once. 6. He told me he saw New Moon", when I know he does not like the Twilight series, and it was a few weeks after I told him I liked Twilight. 7. He now wants to go on a trip with me to Tennessee, after I told him, that he could burn the wood that needs to be burned there.. And now he wants to go very badly. 8. Smiles everytime we talk 9. When I tell him I am talking to a guy friend on the computer, he gets really jealous and tries to see what I am talking about. I really want feedback. I just want to know if he doe slike me or not, so I know what to do. -question by Guest
