  1. you are right, i was relating to the tutorial which involves just one video card, my bad, good catch.
  2. So, i have an offline html editor that i use to make my files before i upload them online. And i wanted to use some code from my old website as a header so to speak. I call it my "html Matrix" because it looks like the matrix using html code. So i dug up the file that contained the code and plugged it in. keep in mind that the code worked back in the day. i put it into my offline editor and it works perfectly, but then i upload it to brinkster, or to 150m and neither of them work. I can't figure it out. Here's the code for it. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME. all it is really, are a series of marquees with letters in the mix going in random directions (up/down) at a variety of speeds, so don't think, holy cow this is some crazy code, cause it's not too bad if you just look at it like that. the online version is at Matrix <center> <marquee width="62%" scrollamount=4><font color="white" size=4>This calibration was created to 3. A lot of web designers run into the same problem of wanting a certain font type, but the question comes up "How do I guarentee the font to show up without the viewer's computer to install the font on the computer?" it's easy, just follow these steps. The first thing you have to do is download and install Weft 3 from microsoft, it's free, the download link is on that page. the easiest way you can embed a font is by using the wizard and follow the steps commanded to you. Easy, but what if you really want to know how the program works, or don't want to go the sissy way with the embedding wizard? then follow these steps: Step 1) Obviously the first step is to create a web page to embed a font on. After you've created the webpage to embed a font to then open Weft 3 (the only program which allows you to embed fonts to your site). Step 2) The program will first prompt you for your name and email, then it will ask for the website you wish to embed a file to, enter the address of the .html/.htm file and click add, click next, then analyze pages. Step 3) after the analysis, a list of all the fonts used on the webpage you selected will be previewed. before each font there is an icon, those icons tell you - green checkmark - font can be embedded legally - red x mark - font cannot be embedded legally - yellow ? mark - the font does not need to be embeded because it is a windows default font. if you wish to add a font that is not listed, simply click on "add" and find the font you wish to be added to the list. Step 4) after all of the desired fonts are selected click next. a window asking for the directory of the page will appear. input which directory, it needs to go in the same directory as the webpage itself. then click next. if you wish to have the same font for mulitple sites in multiple directories then the next window is for you, it's pretty self explanitory. just input the directories you desire to share that/those embedded file(s). Step 5) in order for it to work on the webpage you finally have to alter the code itself, just a simple modification: for CSS: - where you have file:///C|/.../ replace with this: src: url(fonts/TEMPUSS0.eot); - just make sure the *.eot file is in the correct directory. for HTM/HTML: - should find the file on it's own. NICE HUH after that is finished, all you have to do is save the project and exit, then when you upload the page to your online host just upload everything in that directory along with it. thanks, -matt
  4. oooo, the great vieo card rivals, ATI and NVidia. hmmmm which to choose. to start out with ATI i believe have the best attributes for gaming such as first person shooters and the like. however, if you want to go with video editing, or watching cinematics, video clips or dvd's, and running a dual monitor (how to connect a dual monitor) NVidia is def. the way to go. thanks, -matt
  5. YES, it is possible to have 2 monitors and your tv set up at the same time, however, it is not possible, i believe, to have all 3 monitors as different desktop space... the 2 monitors are expanded desktops, where the tv is a "clone" to the primary monitor. I mean, why would you want a seperate desktop on the tv anyways unless you have the best video card/tv setup, the quality on the tv won't be up to par to be able to do much with the desktop and everyday needs. then that brings you to the question "why would you want the tv plugged in if you're saying the quality isn't good?" i'm not saying the quality isn't good... all the time. The best part of having your tv as a 3rd monitor is mainly when you're watching a movie, or working on video editing/graphic design, it is possible to have the display autospanned to the tv in full screen so you get the full effect, and the full screen span is at top quality. it works great. also helps while working in power points, you can work on the power point on your primary monitor, while the final view of the slide is displayed on your tv. MARVELS!! thanks, matt
  6. for some reason my quote function is not working. To: TrianGulumyou wrote"i really like the game and the fact that you can skip the introduction"but if that's all you liked about BnW II then i'll have you fooled because you could easily download and install a patch for the first one that would let you take out the introduction, and allow you to skip it.I, on the other hand, thought that BnW, the first one, was amazing. The story line, objective in the game, to be a God and rule the island, and control your nation, is all amazing. The first one blew my mind, because i had a lot of fun editing the land files and tweaking the mods, but the only thing that was wrong with the first game was the graphics, ceature control, and the fact that you couldn't skip the intro or the cinematics without the patch. Then BnW II came out, and it's amazing, absolutely amazing. One: you're still god, cool. Two: you can skip the intro. Three: graphics are amazing, try this, zoom into the water and observe how much time they put into that detail, it's utterly amazing, and the wheat fields are great too.Four: They added the Citizen Construction Demand info modifier, so now you KNOW what your nation wants you to build, rather than just listening to random people yelling things out to you every now and then.Five: The creature control is atleast 10^X times nicer and smoother than in the first one, the creature lifestyle is a ton better.Six: You can now build armies, how awesome is that, it's like AOE and BnW I combined now.I likey.
  7. Dual monitors are awesome, but how cool would it be if you could get an image to span across both monitors, rather than the image being cloned on both monitors? This is how to do it:take and image that has the dimensions desired, save it on your hardrive.then right click on your desktop --> properties --> desktop tab --> choose "none" for wallpaper --> click Customize Desktop --> "web" tab --> "new" button --> Browse --> double click the picture you are looking for --> "OK" --> "OK" --> "OK" --> the image is now on the desktop, however it may be off center.simply hover your cursor over the top of the image, a tab should show up, click and drag the image to where you want it.That's it. enjoythanksmatt
  8. I'm sure 95 % of you are running your system with one monitor. Primarily because that is the default for any computer. What if i told you that running your system with dual monitors or even triple monitors will increase your user performance extensively? Ways it helps: - can play some games while instant messaging, writing emails, watching movie on other screen, looking up something online, etc... - Helps with working on websites or other programming, because code can be on one side, while the preview image is on the other monitor. - Spreads the space out so you have more table top room, which allows you to use it more efficiently. - Working on essays: you can have your word processor on one side and your source on the other monitor. their are an exponensial amount of pro's to having dual/trip monitors. this is how to get it working: in order for all of this to work, you obviously need another monitor or a tv next to your computer. Step 1: - check your computer hardware guide to see what kind of graphic card your computer supports (AGP, or PCI). - after checking which kind of port your computer offers buy a video card, a good place to do research for one is http://www.tomshardware.com/ and an excelent place to buy is http://www.newegg.com/ - Nvidia is better w/ dual monitors than Radeon are more effective w/ games. Step 2: - now that you have your video card, it's time to install it. - Make sure your computer is turned off for this next step. - take the case off of your computer and your motherboard manual should show you where the video card port is. - it should click right in. - after the hardware is installed into your computer, you now must instal the software required to run it. Step 3: FOR A MONITOR - plug the primary monitor into the video card monitor port, and plug the secondary monitor into the default computer monitor port. Step 3:FOR A TV WITH SVIDEO - if you don't have an svideo chord that can reach from your tv to your computer then buy one or move your tv closer. - plug the chord into the svideo input in the video card, then plug the other end into the tv svideo input. Step 3: FOR A TV W/OUT SVIDEO OPTION - buy an Svideo --> RCA male/IN adapter, at radioshack and best buy they are about 20 dollars, but i bought one on ebay fro 99 cents w/out shipping. - then plug the svideo chord to the svideo option in the video card panel, then plug the other end to the adapter, then the adapter to one of your rca inputs. Step 4: - turn on your computer, a prompt should come up saying your computer has revieled new hardware. put in the software installation cd, which should be included, if not go to the website of your video card manufacturer and download the driver for the specified video card. - after the driver/software is installed install any extra required programs, i.e. upgraded directX version... restart your computer. Step 5: - both monitors should be working when the computer is rebooted. If not then right click on the desktop--> properties --> settings --> click on the video card monitor should be a little box w/ monitors, activate the check box that say "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor." if already activated, go to the other monitor. - if there is only one monitor click "advanced" --> click the tab of the video card --> dual displays or display settings. any questions just pm me or email me thanks, matt
