Javascript: Disable Mouse Right-click In Browser
KDEWolf replied to wannabeeaweak's topic in Programming
Yes that's the way to go to protect images. But nowadays you've got to put the watermark in the very middle of the picture, since it's very common to have people cropping the original picture to remove watermarks from the borders and alike. A clear example of it is the watermark option in DeviantArt. It's huge, it's very noticeable and right in the image center. It's actually awful to look at that, since it kind of screws the picture mood, but in the case of having constant problems, it's the only way to go. -
Well, about a year ago I did apply for the 30 credits hosting account, here in Xisto.I kept my site up for some months, but after some time the site idea kind of died, I wasn't able to post regurlarly enough to keep ti up and running. Now, I gathered up with a friend to start a new and promising project, that's actually up and running here http://www.sanestesico.co.cc/ , but on a very poor and slow free server.I was wondering what do I have to do in order to reactivate my old account, if possible, or if do I need to send a new application for hosting maybe? How many credits would be necessary?Thank you in advance, by the way.

I just don't understand how the HELL they do make each version of Microsoft Office so BIGGER. And not just bigger. I mean REALLY HUGE.The whole thing occupies about 2GB of disk space, that's simply ridiculous. There ain't no significant change that could make a program go from about what, 200-300MB to the current program size. Also, a single language pack is 350MB big... And I'm not even talking about a complex and painful language like chinese (this one is about 600MB big). WHAT'S WRONG WITH THEM? AHHHHHHHH! I mean, Open Office and alike can do that using 10 times less disk space..!I do like MS Office, seriously. It's not a bad program suite after all. I had my tries on Open Office, but some important Excel engineering and maths tools made me go back to the old one. Compatibility is also a concern, mainly because each damn suite wants to have it's own incompatible file type and extension. And not happy enough, Microsoft now implemented new .docx and alike for Office 2007... I just can't stand it. If the user just comes up with an idea, writes up a text on Microsoft Word 07 or Open Office Writer, and clicks the save button... well about 90% of the rest of the whole world is not going to be able to open it for reading without being through some kind of stressing process, since the default file formats for each editor are the exclusive ones which only work on their own editor. This is simply wrong! Even Adobe Photoshop asks if you do want the file to be compatible with old formats, and well PS isn't the sort of program that's really "user friendly". Yes, one might say "but asking for retrocompatibility isn't user friendly". But well neither is sending over your simple essay to a friend and having him not being able to view it.Damn it's late and I'm probably being an *bottom* as usual. But that's what I feel about them... Cheers.

Javascript: Disable Mouse Right-click In Browser
KDEWolf replied to wannabeeaweak's topic in Programming
This is not only an annoying measure, it also cripples deeply usability. Not to say that nowadays with the steady growth of alternate browsers, mostly Firefox, Safari and Opera, it simply won't work. It's VERY hard to "hide" things like HTML/CSS/JS code from a curious or bad intentioned reasonably intelligent person.I'd say this one is a big no-no. -

Feeling On Isometric Art Like it or Dislike it
KDEWolf replied to nathaniel1405241538's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
I simply love it! I just think being a purist and doing all pixel art using paint is not the way to go... But...DeviantArt has also *incredible* Isometric Art pieces. Some take months and months to complete.I'll post some link to them soon! -
This program, LogonXP, will chance you logon screen as you want: http://www.stardock.com/products/logonxp/download.html You can find LogonXP "skins" in many sites, like LotsOfskins, for example. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&ct=res&Zb4k-nXc5CJ0FrA But if what you want is changing the windows boot screen (the loading screen, let's say), there's some info here: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Again, you can find skins all throughout the internet, but it's easier to look up for them in Wincustomize: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&ct=res&2GYXl7HnFOSHx9w There's also DeviantArt, which has skins for both programs: http://www.deviantart.com/ Good luck and happy holidays!

Considering you have pretty good skills at programming, I don't think I could be of any use to your project, other than making some pretty graphics here and there. Anyway I found the initiative very interesting, and would like to help a little. In case you need anything, please Private Message me. I'll be on vacations this week, but in 7 or 9 days I'll be here again.Wish you luck! And happy holidays!

Secret Behind Your Nick/User Names Where did they come from?
KDEWolf replied to szupie's topic in Introductions
Mine may look quite bizarre to some people, but to a geek it's damn simple and obvious. After years trying to find the perfect nickname, and an UNIQUE one, I ended up by trying to emulate Wolfenstein 3D in my KDE box. I didn't manage to make it work, so then I came back to windows using the dual-boot.I was looking for some answers to my Linux problems, and the forum I was looking for them needed registering you order for you to access their attachments. Then the first thing that came to my mind was KDE and Wolfenstein (doh). Since KDEWolfenstein was a little big, and WolfensteinKDE wasn't as pretty, I typed KDEWolf. Some time later, I found a new (and awesome, at the time) webmail site, Web.de. Since 90% of the usernames I tried were already registered, I tried KDEWolf and voilĂ ! I did work perfectly in the first try. The same happened for years and years, in every kind of game, forum or site.So here I am nowadays =P. KDEWolf. -
Godfather Of Soul James Brown Pass Away
KDEWolf replied to Saint_Michael's topic in General Discussion
Yes, he also played an important role in the development of Funk, Groove, amongst many genres I usually listen to. I sincerely didn't think he'd die this soon, but also never though he'd last this long being as crazy as he was. Getting drunk and drugged frequently being 70 is quite dangerous (there's an interview with him completely drunk, probably in YouTube), but I believe Brown probably died happy with his legacy and lifestyle. It's pretty sad, but I don't think his music will ever die in the next centuries. And that's what matters, his time here ended, and James did his job pretty well. -
Winzip 10 Vunerability/update To Winzip 11
KDEWolf replied to Saint_Michael's topic in Security issues & Exploits
Why do people still use Winzip?WinRAR is far far superior... -
It's not that easy to fill up a web page. =P Mainly a starting one! CPanel is pretty complete and easy to use (at least to me and a friend of mine), you won't have problems with it I guess.

Well depends heavily in which kind of drugs the person uses. Probably playing this completely drunk will lead to a marvellous visit to the toilet. But it's quite funny to play some kind of games while drunk. 007 Goldeneye, for example, was of my favourites in this kind of "sport". And if you have someone sober it's even more funny, since it's incredibly hard to hit someone when you're all drunk, and the sober guy will look and think "my god, look at these... what the hell...". Another nice game to play is Worms, the number of times people play in the wrong turn so drunk they are is amazing... Other drugs aren't as funny or as easy to play games, also I'd better end my comments here to avoid any further problems. =p

This is exactly what scientists fear nowadays. Most of global climate, mainly in Europe, depend upon water/wind currents located in western Atlantic ocean, close to US. I was astonished when a friend who works in an environment business told me about it, and that the story told on the film Day After Tomorrow is a real possibility, and second some, the most likely to cause a new Ice Age. And here in Brazil each year the summer is hotter and hotter... And I don't even live in a beach city!
