  1. I think it just parses objects from different web languages into a string, and when you include the JSON libraries for whatever language you're using, you can take that string and make it an object of whatever type you need.I came across it a while ago, but I never ended up using it, because I never get that far into making anything. I'll probably look into it farther now, though, because you reminded me of it.
  2. This was really helpful. I had heard of inline and block elements before, but I never really decided to figure out what that meant. Now I know why whenever I was adding div's it was messing with all of my pages.
  3. Thanks for the "happy birthday"!

    I guess I'm kind of late. ;)

  4. Oh. I thought that when you posted, you got points and they stayed even if your post got deleted.THANKS!
  5. There are a lot of tutorials on how to randomize things with php.Why do they need so many? Why couldn't someone just post a couple of the functions like random(), and a tutorial on arrays, and let people figure out, "Hey, maybe if I put a random number in an array of strings, I could have it use that as the title, then I would have a random title!"There have been tutorials on having random images, and random titles, and many others, and they're all pretty much exactly the same.To me, it just seems like wasted space, and when you're trying to actually figure something out, you have a lot more code to look through because of all the ways people find to do the same thing. They should only make a new post if it's actually new code, or it's really innovative, and not something someone could easily figure out.
  6. Isn't Xisto what powers Xisto? Of course it's the best! The only other thing that comes close is if you get your own server and stuff.
  7. I've seen a lot of articles and stuff about perpetual motion machines. I thought a bunch of people had already proved that it was impossible, no matter what way you try, because the force needed to keep the machine going would always be more than the energy provided by it. But anyways, capturing power from rain would be a good idea in some places. But when ever a drought comes around, it would just make it seem a lot worse. If only they could find an energy source that's available everywhere all the time...
  8. I logged back on today, and it said I had almost -5 points, and my account was suspended. I remember that the last time I posted, I had about 5 points, and I just checked, and my last post was two days ago.I stopped when I only had about 5 points because it was late and I was starting to get tired. It should have only gone down to 3 by today, and I should have been able to post to get my points back up.How did my points go down by almost 10 in two days?I think it might be possible that when it got below 4 it automatically went negative, and started counting down from that or something, but I'm not sure. I guess I'll just try and keep it up higher from now on, and check it more often, but I was just wondering what was going on.
  9. That's pretty sweet. That's pretty weird that they had to come up with a tag like that, though. If I ever really needed to do something like that, I probably just would have made a script or something, though. I think there are at least a couple useless tags that could be replaced just because of css and javascript.
  10. I thought Firefox already cached pages, and it's pretty good about knowing what pages not to cache. If you want pages to load faster, you should just pay for faster internet.
  11. I would recommend using Eclipse instead of NetBeans, but that's just me. I've been able to find more help with Eclipse, and they have a graphical editor for when you're making GUI applications. I think when I first started learning Java, I started out with applets. I just googled a bunch of tutorials about them, and started trying to make some games. After a while, I ended up with stuff like you can find here, if my site is up when you try the link(I don't find the time to post very much.) (Use the .html pages) Java is a lot like C++, but it's a little limited, and you only have to compile once and it will work on any operating system with Java installed. You should learn about threads, and try to pick a good API to get started with for making applications. If you look around enough, like I did, you can find a way to do pretty much anything with Java. (For the Ex3dApplet, if you can get on my site, you hold CTRL and drag the mouse to turn the view, SHIFT+CTRL and drag slides it around, and ALT+CTRL and drag zooms. Or some combination of those. I haven't played with it an a while, so I'm not sure. And if you play around with the keys, you can figure out the rest of the controls.)
  12. I got Bart's PE builder from their site, and it runs perfectly. When it finally gets done building the BartPE data, I copy it to a CD, and when that's done, I'm able to run it from inside Windows. The only problem is, it won't boot to the CD. I've already gone into the BIOS and made sure that my computer was set to boot to CD, and I even tried other CDs, and I could boot from them fine. I've tried making a disk from the files on Windows XP Pro SP2, and on Windows XP Home SP2. When I run the builder, it always gives me one warning, saying that "building from an OEM version of Windows can mean trouble..." Then I looked that up on google, and they said to try using a Dell fix, and I tried that and it didn't work. I actually didn't think it would, either, because it wasn't a Dell disk that I used to build it. I'm using the newest version of the PE builder. If anyone has any advice at all, I'd appreciate it.
  13. FireFox is the most customizable browser available. They invented everything good about browsers, and IE just stole from them. They have A LOT of extensions you can get, so you can do just about anything. Plus, if you really want to, you can make your own extensions. It might take a while to learn how to code it, but it's worth it in the end.FF even has an extension so you can look at pages so you know what they would look like in IE, if you're a website developer.FF rules!
  14. The only thing you can do is make is so that it's not legal for them to steal it. They can always steal it, but if it's not legal for them to, then you can get money for the fact that they stole it.I've always wondered about copyrights, though. Is there a way to get a copyright on everything you write, with only one fee, or do you have to get a copyright on everything that you make separately?
  15. This is pretty sweet. I mostly just use notepad++ for my web design. That's probably part of why my website sucks. It probably wouldn't be much better with anything else, though, because I suck at design anyway. But that's a great tutorial!
  16. That's pretty cool, and I think you could use that for anyone that uses CMD a lot.But for Java, you could always just get Eclipse or something...
  17. I think it would be sweet to have a Google operating system. I searched google for it, and all that I could find was a bunch of people with the idea for them to make one.I think they'd be able to make it run all the programs we have already for Windows, Linux, and Mac, and make it a lot better. They could integrate it with the internet a lot better that other OS's.So, do you think they should make one, or that they ever will?
  18. If google tried to make their search engine a charity, they would probably have to give trillions of dollars to charities every month. They're not that rich...
  19. Google is already starting to do everything that is possible to do online. Now all they have to do is make an operating system, and start selling Google computers, and they'll monopolize the computer industry or something like that.
  20. I think it should constantly be cleaned out, at least of spam. They shouldn't delete the good topics that are actually worth something, but they should always be getting rid of the spam and thinking of new ways to organize the posts.
  21. The perfect answer for everything: Google it!Only ask after you've done that. If you don't try that first, you're never going to get anything done.

    I Hate Winter!

I don't think winter's that bad. It's one of my four favorite seasons!Yeah, I end up getting nose bleeds and chapped lips and I get sick a lot more often during the winter, but I don't really care! I've taught myself to like the cold. The nose bleeds and chapped lips aren't so bad, and whenever I get sick, I get a cool low voice so I sound like some kind of radio announcer. All you have to do is look at the bright side.Although the fact that the sun reflects off the snow is pretty annoying, too.
  23. Well, if you're just trying to make an applet, have you tried making an HTML file, and running it like that? You should just have to Google how to embed applets, and it should work that way.But if you're trying to make an application that runs the applet inside of it, then you should check out the FatJar Eclipse plugin. I have a link to it on my earlier post. It has always worked for me.Just to make sure, you should look in the Jar file with QuickZip, or WinZip or something, and look in the manifest file, and see if it really says that the start class is what it should be. If it is, then it probably has something to do with the class-path. There are a bunch of tutorials online about setting the class-path, and I think they can explain it a lot better than I can, because I never got it to work very good. But using FatJar should make it all really simple. I think they even have tutorials on how to install it for eclipse.
  24. If you want a free one, and you don't really care if it's not .com or .net, then you could get a .co.nr one. It pretty much just redirects you to your site, but it can also hide the url of your site and always show the .co.nr one. It's pretty good for being free.
  25. I guess that could help already, but you shouldn't really need to do it, because it already automatically comes up with a list of close url's as you type them. All you have to do is get kind of close to it, then hit down until you get to the one you were looking for. I thought they had that the whole time, and it works just as good as an auto-complete thing.
