Cutenews Images Aren't Flush With Border
Misanthrope replied to Misanthrope's topic in Web Hosting Support
Well, I tried the Cutenews template alterations first and unfortunately that didn't work. Then I looked at this: I tried messing around with the settings at line 147 and 248 and that didn't work either. In line 248, I tried changing the margin to a lower px which made images slightly more flush, but then there was no space between the image and text. Are there other specific lines in the CSS file I need to alter? If so, which ones? Why would the cpanel upgrade have affected Cutenews like this? -
When I upload images to my site via Cutenews, I notice they don't align flush with either the left or right border. They seem to be off by just a pixel or two and I don't know how to fix it. This is a recent phenomenon and wasn't a problem before the cpanel upgrade. Here's an example: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Take a look at the "It's Friday....So What?" news entry, and note how the image is not flush with the left border. Then scroll down to the Willie Nelson entry and you'll see images aren't flush on the right either. How do I remedy this?

Image Upload To Cutenews ....doesnt work
Misanthrope replied to Misanthrope's topic in Web Hosting Support
Wow. I'm not used to things working on the first try (especially with Cutenews), but this actually did the trick. Thanks for your expert guidance, BuffaloHELP! -
When I try to upload an image to Cutenews via the program's "insert image" option, I get the following error message: Couldn't copy image to serverCheck if file_uploads is allowed in the php.ini file of your server In the past, I've always been able to upload images to Cutenews. I assume that file uploads are allowed in the php.ini server, since they always were before. What's going on here and how do I fix it?

My tenure with Yahoo's domain service is about to run out. They now want $35 a year! Prior to this outrageous price increase they were charging around $10 a year, which I thought was kind of pricey, but now they're into the stratosphere with their obscenely expensive fee. They better not try blaming this on the orchestrated devaluation of United States currency (though I wouldn't be surprised if they do). How they can triple their price and not expect a mass exodus of customers is beyond me. I, for one, will not be re-enlisting. Any ideas out there on cheap, reliable web hosting?

Laptop Computers What is the best laptop computer brand?
Misanthrope replied to alicia91's topic in Software
You could get a Mac and have the best of both worlds by running programs like Bootcamp or Parallells. I'm currently on a MacBook Pro with a 17" screen and can switch back and forth between Windows and Mac. I like the Mac side for hassle and virus free downloads, and the Windows side for running programs not yet available for Mac. I find the Mac to be a superior machine overall. If I had to use a PC laptop I'd go with Dell, even though Lenovo has a higher rating (and higher price tag). I don't like the aesthetics of the Stinkpad. The keyboard is terribly clunky and that ridiculous little ball in the middle of the board is more a nuisance than anything. I used one for an entire day before my wrists tired of the un-ergonomic trackpad and chunky keyboard. So no, it's either Mac or Dell. -

I cleared my cache thinking that might be the problem, but it still doesn't load. How can it be loading on your computer and not mine? Any ideas, Sonesay? Update: I'm back online. Thanks for taking the time to help us all, BuffaloHELP. You're the best! -

Where do I go to do all this? I've tried the following urls to get to my cpanel, and neither work: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ The proxy service I used said my site is up and functioning, though. I just can't access it. I pm'd BH this question today, but if someone else happens to figure this one out before he gets here at 11pm maybe I can save him the hassle. Oh, and one more thing. Is my domain considered an "ADD-ON?" I registered my domain elsewhere and am hosted here via this url: http//vivianbritton.com Notice from BuffaloHELP: Sent instruction long with quick explanation. Your website is working. -

Thanks for the help SM. I got an email from OpaQue and it looks like he's reset my password, so I guess I can cancel my request to Buff. Now I have another silly question. How do I unpark and repark my domain? I'm sure I've done this before but apparently it's been too long. And where do I go to log in to cpanel? Simple, step by step instructions are needed by this technical moron. Notice from BuffaloHELP: I am sorry. I looked at your last situation after I reset your password again Sorry for the inconvenience. Quick instruction: If you are parking, just click on PARK DOMAIN and follow the instruction again. If you are adding, just click on ADD-ON DOMAIN and use the same folder you used before, ie public_html/folder_name. Give it a username and password as the same as the old one (if you remember). If not, assign a new one and update anything that might be depending on this new username and password. If you are not using ADD-ON domain username and password (this is different from your main cpanel username and password) then you do not need to worry. PS couldn't send PM because your inbox was full. -

I am totally confused regarding whether or not I need to request a reset password, as I can't even get to cpanel to start with. So I guess I'll leave it to the professionals to figure that one out. That said, kindly reset my password if that is in fact the correct protocol. If not, please advise at your earliest convenience. Thank You Notice from BuffaloHELP: Sent new password. As noted in post #8, if your website was using add-on or parked domain, simply re-addon or park. Follow serverph's detailed instruction -
I too was unable to post at Xisto forums, access cpanel, or my website. Several days later, I can post (obviously) at the forums, but I can't access cpanel anywhere. And my website is not showing up. I'm wondering what good it would do to request a new password if I can't even get to cpanel to begin with.Does anyone have any status updates?

Our Country Is Meeting Its Demise Via The Media.
Misanthrope replied to Mermaid711's topic in The Vent
The topic starter touches on many issues of import to our day and dire predicament, the first being the controlled media that mesmerizes the American masses with carefully censored news designed to dis-empower the individual. Your average Joe Public might leave the nightly news wondering: "What can I do as an individual do make any change in the world? It all seems so hopeless. Now, I think I'll order one of those unhealthy pepperoni pizzas and Diet Cokes' they just advertised to reward myself for living in this hopeless world, then I'll get to bed early so I can wake up at 5am for my minimum wage job so I can earn enough money to afford a car I don't really want to impress a friend I can't stand. Oh, and I think I'll vote for that Obooba guy because the people who come on TV like him." Naturally, this is the desired response the Man Behind The Curtain wishes to elicit from you. An apathetic, hopeless, depressed, brain-dead idiot who never questions the status quo and the garbage the mainstream media force-feed the masses. But the truth is, you as an individual CAN make a change in both your own life and the world if you'll only turn off the mainstream media and listen to your own conscious. Power lies within you, not without. Seek out uncensored sources of news online and question EVERYTHING. Don't just blindly believe what you hear on the news. As you start educating yourself on what's really going on the world you'll begin noticing patterns on the TV, radio, and newspaper. You'll notice how they push certain agendas and completely ignore important issues. You'll notice how they're always concerned with occupying your mind with sports, sex, useless trivia, and Hollywood trash. Now, you'll see that they're obsessed with "going green" which has everything to do with demonizing the human race and nothing to do with "saving the planet." Television is without a doubt the most powerful tool of propaganda and indoctrination the Powers That Be have at their filthy disposal. Think of the media as the puppeteer's middle man. It tells the public what to think, how to dress, how to behave - and people parrot what they hear on it. Much of what the media presents is designed to prepare you for the government's next big scam, be it "global warming" or some other ridiculous farce. Oh, and have you noticed that after the incredibly cold winter we had, they no longer refer to it as "global warming," but "climate change?" What a load of crap. We are being psychologically managed, you see - as they herd us from one paradigm to another. Moo. No one can argue America is and has been the world's military superpower for the last two centuries. The greatest might the world has ever seen was foreshadowed when the founding fathers spoke of our "manifest destiny." But as the topic starter alluded to, forces at play (by way of media) desire to destroy America from within. Soon, our loving media will be discussing the virtues relinquishing our sovereignty in favor of amalgamating into the North American Union. -
Thank you for talking about the cruelty inherent in horse racing.

Help With E107 Hlep with e107
Misanthrope replied to goldtupac's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Unfortunately, I have limited knowledge of e107, but they do have an official website at e107.org with what appears to be a mature, helpful community forum. Out of curiosity, why are you using E107 over some of the pre-installed Fantastico systems? Joomla and PHP Nuke come to mind. I ask because I've been investigating the best CMS, and have so far reached no consensus - though I have heard very good things about e107. They don't seem to get as much attention as Joomla, for whatever reason. -
When an organization gets as large as PETA, it's difficult not to find something, if not several things to criticize. That's simply the nature of the beast, as it were. But the very fact we are all sitting here discussing the plight of abused horses is a testament to their effectiveness in bringing animal awareness to the public eye, if nothing else. Would we be doing so were it not for the efforts of PETA? They may utilize outrageous tactics, but are they any more outrageous than the industries who profit from the pain and agony of millions upon millions of innocent animals each and every year? With their large marketing budget and Hollywood backing, PETA is successfully able to bring to the fore issues that are often otherwise swept under the carpet and conveniently ignored by the masses. Those who are inherently predisposed toward humane treatment of animals have been aware of these issues for some time, but the general public doesn't realize anything until they see it on the evening news. Your average Joe is not going to go out of his way to research the horrors of horse racing, and most animal welfare groups - as well meaning as they are - do not have the budget to advertise on major media. That's where PETA fills the gap. They are controversial because they challenge preconceived, archaic ideas of man's relationship to other sentient beings we share the planet with. And they are hated because they target huge, industrial agri-businesses that have long profited from the exploitation of innocent creatures. Exploiters will always resist being exposed, and will turn the tables on the messenger to deflect attention from where it belongs. The evils of the horse racing industry need to be made a part of the collective consciousness to affect change, and I thank PETA for helping bring this change about.

Speaking of, how was your ordeal with the goats the other day? I wish I lived closer to you so I could learn the finer arts of caring for goats and other critters of the farm. As international agra-business continues to take over small farms, it really becomes an act of personal protest for the little guy to farm his own land. I generally avoid drinking caffeine in the morning as I usually hit the floor running, but by afternoon I'm ready for a siesta and a nice jolt of coffee. It never seems to bother my sleep either. I've been saving money by buying green coffee beans from Costco and roasting them. Ends up being around three dollars a pound that way, maybe a little less. I only wish all farm critters had it as good as the ones cared for by you on your family farm. My mention of moo-cows was in reference to the documented abuses and horrid conditions suffered by animals reared in huge factory "farms," which unfortunately, comprise the bulk of the American milk supply. I've been meaning to ask my library to purchase the book, Slaughterhouse, which exposes the horrors of the US meat/dairy industry in gruesome detail. Looks like it's gotten excellent reviews from consumers.

I listen to and enjoy an eclectic range of styles, which can vary greatly on my given mood, time of day, the weather, or amount of alcohol consumed. Generally, I prefer thought-provoking, introspective music written in the minor mode, be it ethnic, classical, contemporary, or metal - especially metal. I'm getting hosting points here, eh? Just checking before I move ahead. If I had to be stranded on a desert isle with one genre to entertain and sustain, it would be Celtic. There's something about Gaelic melodies that speak to my very soul. Lately, I've been enjoying the service of Pandora.com, which offer a sort of virtual jukebox based on your personal preference. This has exposed me to even more Celtic music I wasn't even aware of. Take Rainbow's Night, for example. Some of you may be familiar with heavy metal guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, who played with Deep Purple and then ventured off on his own project. Well now, he performs in a wonderful accoustic act called, "Blackmore's Night," and he produces a pseudo-renaissance/Celtic band (which he performs in of course) that blows me away. I love his acoustic renditions of metal classics like, "Soldier of Fortune." Speaking of, I feel the need to go listen to it now...

The censored media like to flaunt the three huckster-teers (Obooba, Billary, and McVain) as if they each actually represent a different choice. They most certainly do not. So when I hear people debate the pros and cons of these vile puppets - especially over something as irrelevant as race - I have to jump in and set the record straight regarding the bill of goods that's been sold the American people regarding democrat and republican, left and right, conservative and liberal, blah blah blah. Bill Clinton's mentor, Carroll Quigley, explained the whole process very eloquently in his opus, "Tragedy and Hope," and it comes down to control. He discusses the dilemma inherent in maintaining the appearance of freedom to the masses, and how by giving the public the fa?ade of a two party system, they can be led to believe they are actually voting between one individual or another. In reality, he says, both parties are controlled by one ruling elite. And he should know, since he was an academic who advised their tutilidge. Therefore, if you vote for one, you vote for the other as well, so no matter who gets in office, the cartel is still in power. And the ruling elite is well versed in human psychology. McVain is a washed-up fake conservative who leaves the masses (who only know what the media show them) with the frightening prospect of Billary or Obooba, the former a criminal extension of the Bush cartel, and the latter a CFR/Globalist/Rockefeller puppet who will waste no time instituting a "global" tax and merging the North American Union hell-on-earth. This spectacle all reminds me of something founding father, Thomas Jefferson said. He warned that when you see an agenda continue after the House has changed (the house being a political party or different side of congress), you will know you are under a secret form of tyranny. This has being going on for some time, obviously. There is a "secret government" pulling the strings and presenting the charade the public recognizes as our political system. In the United States, it's known as the CFR, or Council on Foreign Relations. You could call this clandestine group our parallel government, and they run the show by hand picking our "leaders" and charting a course that benefits the wealthiest at the top. Obooba is currently being handled by them, and the media is the middle-man to keep us all indoctrinated in this freak show they call politics. The media tells us who we should like, who we should vilify, and who we should vote for by censoring all the other choices out there. This is not freedom of press. If you actually look forward to the prospect of: a) an imposed global income tax of OBSCENE proportions, in addition to the national taxes you already pay; b. the surrender of United States sovereignty and everything we fought for during the American Revolution, just to be absorbed into the Orwellian North American Union; c) a surveillance police state which will monitor your every move; d) more of the same in Iraq and around the world; and e) the continued erosion of our dollar, the constitution and personal liberties.... then by all means, vote for CFR puppet Obooba or one of the other media pushed stooges. The results from any three of them will be the same, the only difference being in how the public perceives them. In that sense, Obooba is the most dangerous of the three as he is the least suspected of corruption; therefore, he will be able to get away with stealing our liberties as the public turns a blind eye. Billary and McVain, on the other hand, would come under intense scrutiny and have to fight tooth and nail to steal our freedoms. It's time to shatter the false paradigms of left and right that we've been force-fed for far too long. And we must eliminate the race card by understanding the Power Brokers use it to intentionally cause chaos and division among the people they wish to control. It's all been done before, just revisit your history books. I don't care what color you are, what party you subscribe to, or what god you worship. You are either pro-freedom or not. An educated voter cannot be pro-freedom while endorsing any of the above control freaks. Unlike the three puppets, Congressman Ron Paul is not bought and sold by the cartel, which is why the censored media (owned by the cartel who own the puppets) choose to ignore him. If you really want to know what's going on in the world of politics, you're going to have to turn on your mind by turning off the TV. Strange concept I know. We've all been conditioned to buy into whatever the talking heads on the TV tells us, but that has to change if we ever want to see a change in Washington in our lifetime. We can start by investigating other avenues of uncensored information. Trap 17's eclectic forum, for example, is an excellent place to start our journey and earn hosting credits at the same time. Here, we can share ideas and learn from folks who spend much of their time on the still free frontier of the internet. Here, there is no media middle man censoring the free exchange of thoughts and opinions. Indeed, one might compare the modern forum to the salon of Paris, where the Age of Enlightenment was hatched by brandy sipping intellectuals in quaint cafes vibrating with mental exuberance and hope for a better tomorrow, or - in this case, a better America.

Scheduled Downtime On May 31st, Around 8pm Pst
Misanthrope replied to OpaQue's topic in Alerts, News & Announcements
Thank you for the advance notice, Opaque! This gives me plenty of time to back up files on the remote possibility we experience a glitch of some sort. Now, what the heck am I going to do to amuse myself May 31st at 8pm for a half hour? Oh yeah, I'll be out of town campaigning for Ron Paul. Good timing! If only everything in life were so easy.... -
We've all observed this border issue play out for years while scratching our heads as the government offers it's usual round of lip service and double speak. Somehow, we're to believe the nation is under constant threat of "terror attack" from foreign sources while they do nothing meaningful to secure our borders. This glaring inconsistency has lead me to the conclusion there is, in fact, no terror threat other than the false flags perpetrated by our own government. 9-11 was their excuse to institute the so-called "patriot" act, a ruse to limit the freedoms of the American people while leaving our borders wide open to anyone or any thing that wants in. These open borders demonstrate the government's use of the Hegelian Dialectic in all its' Machiavellian glory. By allowing a known problem to get out of control they are in essence creating an intolerable situation they know the American people will not stomach for much longer. Think about the sex offenders the government perpetually keep on the streets instead of in jail where they belong. They know these vermin will re-offend, yet they will lock up pot growers for years. Having sex offenders on the streets will allow government to institute draconian laws, such as implanting "chips" into the offenders to track their location. But it won't end there. This will be their excuse to start tracking all citizens. What you have here is the government creating a terrible problem, which in turn allows them to charge in with their version of the solution. And we're not going to like their solution one iota, because it will entail the nations of Canada, the United States, and Mexico giving up their sovereignty to become the "North American Union." Understand, the open border is only part of their chess game. Their orchestration of the falling dollar and food shortage will fuel their goal of merging these countries into one, easily controlled unit. The Latin Americans who illegally enter this country are being encouraged to do so by the American/Mexican cartels that will benefit from the chaos. Don't allow yourselves to be drawn into racial wars, because that's what the Power Brokers want. We are easier to control when we're fighting amongst each other. Divide and conquer - remember?

The Enlightened Misanthrope has some curiously unorthodox methods for passing out every night, more often than not involving copious quantities of distilled spirits and subversive (i.e. pro-liberty) reading material. Vertical activity of any sort before retiring is out of the question - with the exception of crawling over to the fridge or liquor cabinet to acquire another libation, that is. I prefer to wind down in a decidedly horizontal position on a comfortable recliner for a period of not less than twelve hours before at last ending the day's festivities. And keep the bedroom on the cool side, I say. Nothing worse than sweltering in a pool of sweat whilst trying to commune with your unconscious. While I avoid sugar like I avoid people (I get enough "sweet" in my liquor, thank you), I do enjoy my afternoon coffee and the manic musings it seems to produce. Some of you, I imagine, have fallen victim to some of my more illustrious caffeine-induced ranting and ravings. Word has it the humble Pinto Bean inspires a restful state of repose punctuated by fragrant "music" of the night. As a side note, beans are also a low fat, high fiber source of quality protein. No wonder our caring government never touts the bean's benefits! After all, they're in the business of culling the useless eaters, not fostering our good health - physical or otherwise. If you're not fond of music that gives off odor, simply soak your beans before cooking. At any rate, the consensus is you'll sleep better after a nutritious, bean-filled Mexican meal than the typical meat and potatoes trash.Milk? Oh my. I do hope the topic starter is referring to the raw, unadulterated variety and not the contaminated udder pus commonly sold in the supermarket. Poor moo-cows on factory farms live miserable lives, in abominable conditions, and suffer agonizing deaths at the hands of illegal labor. They are injected with an incredible number of pharmaceuticals, including the highly controversial BGH (Bovine Growth Hormone), which makes poor mama cow grow so fat her legs can't support her weight. Of course, BGH is also implicated in cancer in humans, not to mention obesity. So please, steer clear of cow's milk unless it's raw and you know the source. And really, how could you in good conscious sleep soundly knowing you had boughten milk from a cow that had been abused. On those rare occasions I simply can't get to sleep, I reach for the herb Valerian. It's best taken an hour or so before retiring, but it doesn't take long to kick in either way. I suggest you buy some of this herb sooner than later. It's only a matter of time before the FDA bans this safe and time honored folk remedy. You see, big pharmaceutical companies - in collusion with the FDA - are working hard to make natural remedies like Valerian and Vitamin C illegal for consumers to purchase.

My thanks to the topic starter for opening up a timely issue whose ramifications are absolutely HUGE. Whatever affects America, affects the rest of the world. One really need look no further than ownership of major media to understand why Patriot and Constitutionalist Ron Paul is being censored and shut out for mass consumption. Nary ten years ago, dozens of corporations had their hands in the mass media pie. Now, you can count them on one hand. I'm sure you're all familiar with the term, "absolute power corrupts, absolutely." Something similar is afoot with "our" media, in as much it's been consolidated down to five or six major players who answer to powerful world cartels. Guess who sits on the board of directors for mega media hotshots the likes of Time Warner? International bankers, that's who. The same ruthless cut-throats who own and operate the so-called "Federal" reserve that's destroying the American Dollar and bringing about the next great depression (by design), delivered via puppet Greenspan and his latest incarnation of mayhem. To bring this more into focus, Congressman Ron Paul wants to eradicate the corrupt Federal Reserve and replace our fiat currency with something sound and tangible. Gold was our standard before the Fed slithered it's insiduous way into the system and turned America from the greatest Empire the world has ever known into a debter nation of less-than-sovereign status. John F. Kennedy was gunned down for the very same reason. He was a learned economist who understood the dark road the Federal Reserve was leading us down, and he was murdered for his desire to eliminate the Federal Reserve. The banking cartel replaced him with pro-fed President Johnson. Ron Paul is dangerous to the power brokers for two reasons. Firstly, he wants to restore our sovereign monetary system by eliminating the Federal Reserve and replacing it with something that actually serves the citizens rather than suck them dry. Secondly, his support comes from the grassroots level. Meaning that his movement stems from the will of the people, and not a goverment (i.e. international banking cartel) inspired propaganda campaign like Clinton-Obama-McCain. I spell out these names as one unit because if you vote for one, you vote for all. There is no difference. They are all handled by elite banking cartel forces with strong ties to Globalist entities who seek to draw the United States into a North American Union with Canada and Mexico via elite organizations affiliated with the Council on Foreign Relations. They're so trustworthy they keep their minutes hidden from the populations they claim to serve. So - now you understand why our corrupt bank-owned media censors Ron Paul, the only true voice of the people.
