  1. Hmmmm...im sure I heard something about this a while ago. I think what it is, is some sort of glasses thats got light sensor on it and it connects to the tongue somehow...no idea how. and it transmits the pulses to the brain. Its on the tongue because it has the most nerve endings near the skin surface. It can't let them see fully, but like blobs or lights / shadows etc.Need to look into it a bit more though...just trying to re call what i heard before about it!Interesting indeed.
  2. Ive been wanting one of these for ages, since i first seen the original concept! It would be great for games, all your keys could change to the actual uses, so each weapon could have an icon its key etc. Good for photoshop shortcuts too/video editing suites! Can't wait for the full one, although I hope the price point drops quickly, cause it really is too expensive when it first comes out.
  3. This really wouldn't work for dial-up, its capped at 56k, which even then your only gonna get about 30/40kb if u use that mibbe. It just seems to be tweaks and stuff for your network connection. Might compress the packets out going or something, but might see a 1% rise in performance at best with software solutions such as these.
  4. This is definetly a serious problem, and a tricky situation. I can see how you wouldn't want to hurt your aunt by taking away her freedom (well the freedom that driving gives you), but she's putting her and others lives at risk. I think you should sit her down(or get someone else to) and explain to her how serious it is.
  5. Hey guys, Im in a metal band myself, been going for a good few years now. We started in high school, just some advice for you. Dont worry about all the cds/gigs/websites yet. Get your music sorted out, find your style "your" bands sound. Practice, practice, practice. Then if you guys are good enough and people like you the rest of the stuff should fall into place (with abit of hard work mind you! ).Good luck, oh and let us know set up a myspace or site with your music on it so we can all hear! Have fun.
  6. You've gotta remember that 2001 version, was "cool" back then lol. It was standard for most personal sites. Though i'd still rather have that than the myspace culture we have at the moment to be honest!
  7. Audacity, is the best free one around that you could probably get, try googling for the download link. I use Cakewalk SONAR, try searching for that too, its expensive, but i think you can get a 30 day trial for it or something!Good luck..
  8. I know how you feel. I played it for a while myself, but got bored. Theres someone in my uni course that plays WoW like 16 hours a day...every day.....although he doesnt really go on about it THAT much to be honest. Just brings it up now and then, just to remind ya
  9. Jasper, i think you should just enjoy the time that you are happy. We go up and down in our lives going from happy periods to sad bits. Maybe you were just stuck in the sad part for longer than most so thats why you feel like thats where you "normally" should be. So if you dont worry about the being happy bit and just go with the flow it will eventually become normal to you. I know this cos i was slightly the same when i was younger, not to the same level though.Hope you adjust soon.
  10. The best way to make sure your site is successful is to make sure it is unique, or offers something new/extra/different that other sites don't. This means you site is the only one of it kind, or at least the first of its kind. So in your case you could have put a different twists on your graphics site, not sure what, but if u could come up with something new and fresh im sure people would come and visit and even stay a while longer than before!Just some tips for ya
  11. I have one of these scams emailed to me before. Some guy that has so much money and he needs you help to transfer the funds between two accounts. and you'll get a cut of the money. I knew straight away it was a scam, but i could see how easy it would be for someone who wasn't 'internet savvy' to fall for it.
  12. Today has been the first day in uk (mostly Scotland) where we've had a break from the bad weather, we've had terrible flooding and transport problems. Most people don't know this, but UK gets quite a lot of tornado's each year, but most of them don't touch ground, so they dont hit the news / aren't noticed.
  13. First off, it would be a new big house, new car, a very hot computer setup, triple widescreen display etc. Then never work again!
  14. As salamangkero said, it has already been done, just on a small scale. The problem is breaking down an objects atomic structure, transporting it and assembling it again. Probably possible..but if it would kill a human in the process? I dont know...
  15. hehe, i heard about this a wee while ago. Only problem i could see is data corruption! neat idea but too easy for the data to be lost, could be use on different materials though that could stand up to more wear and tear using the same technique
