I have seen so many newbies confused with the linux that where they can search for the linux equivalent of program?.How to find the free application that can run on OS X. Most of the windows famous application have alternatives.Though it is pretty obvious that Linux project is not enough mature .so you can't expect that these applications are muchproductive.There is alternative to Adobe Photoshop called as GIMP (Gnu image manipulation program).but trust me it is not as good as Photoshop.Also there is no alternative for Macromedia's Flash.You know that this program also have no alt in Windows envirement.Programs like Swish,Corel Rave are not enough powerfull as Flash.But you can get your hands dirty with open source aps if you want. You can use Adobe's,Macromedia's Products on Apple OS X.Apple comes up with enough productive programs you dont need to go for any other alternative actually.but even if need you can get alt apps.As OS X is Unix based, so you would pretty much used the same programs. But, there are quite a few Apple only programs, such as Appleworks, Fink, iMovie, etc. In KDE you can use Kpackage for package management.Or every new distro come up with Synaptic package manager. Word of caution,you may encounter bugs with some softwares.Yes it is true that bad software exist in linux also.You are beta tester here,so dont forget to report bug to the perticualr development community.Chances are there that most of the developers will solve your problem. If you visit http://www.debian.org/, You can see there is debian women project.It is designed to encourage feamle candidates to help open source community.on this same concept many other organisation also started to open such project.Let's take closer example of Gnome. Many members of gnome think that there should be one gnome womens project.I dont know how much women surf arround the internet,How much they use computers,If they are developers.But there is no need for such project,Women must work with all mens,kids,teens on open source project,instaed of working seperatley. I know very few womens are into website designing.i remember during 99-2000 i was in touch with girl who was updating episode guide for program"X-files".Also i know a women who was writing episode guide for cartoon network's show.After that i never come in touch with any webmaster female.I have't seen any girl arround here.If there is one,we should look at her design work and must encourage her.atleast that much we can do.Yes i agree http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ features female flash artists every month.I m not saying there are less girls who knows computer but female developer,webmasters are less in number in any such comunity.If that is not the case then why such communities making such projects? I'll tell you how to remove these entries.i assume you know the windows registry. New.net Domains ,Freeze.net,incrdifind sponsored screen savers,themes contains spy wares such as,Bundle.exe,Wupdater.exe & difficult to delete for average users. They will not be removed even if you uninstall them.Look up in the registry for their keys [HKLM] and delete them.Now CTRL+ALT+Del on you desktop then stop processes wupdater.exe,bundle.exe,ezstub22.exe. then Press CTRL + F on your desktop then find these executables and safely delete them.Many reg keys may be ignored by me but most of the keys that needed to eliminating them from system are listed here.Trust me, it took me whole day to find their payload on my system,these executables tries to connect to Internet to download more junk stuff.Puts incredisearch as your default site on your Internet options menu. One more Trick i would like to tell you that i never tell anyone usually cause this might be dangerous sometimes cause editing registry values may crash windows. Try startup editing utility from http://www.mlin.net/ You can even see if any spy ware starts with your system,eats your system resource.You can safely delete the entry. Hmm..One spy ware terminated,Who's Next?

Yes,It's time to think about this issue now.We download sidebars,News & weather tickers on our desktop.We watch Movie on Media player by small task bar fit window (feature included from Windows Media Player 9 & 10). If you are newbie to Unix and Linux then you heard "Shell" so many times,What the hell is a shell?When i was new to linux,i was so confused with Shell and console so many times,so here i want to uncover the hell of Shell.A shell is a special program which gives you the familar text mode prompt.You can use it to start other programs and it understands some special commands of its own.Sometimes these special commands are combined into a file which can be run all at once,in sequence.A shell performs 2 basic functions - It acts as a command interpreter and as a programming language. As a command interpreter it is somewhat similar to DOS. As a programming interface it allows you to process commands stored in shell scripts. This is somewhat similar to batch files in DOS.There are several different shells that you can use,Most popular with programmers is called the "C Shell".Linux has its own version called "tcsh", the most common shells are Bourne, C, Korn and Bash.[1] Bourne shell - The Bourne shell is activated by typing sh and is represented by a $ prompt. This was one of the first shells and still one of the most popular. [2]C shell - This shell resembles the C programming language and is represented by a % prompt. The command to use this shell is csh. The C shell was buggy, but had important features so people had to switch back and forth between this one and Bourne. This shell has more advanced shell-programming features and a diffrentyntax for some operations.[3] Korn shell - Korn shell is written in short as(ksh),has simple graphical capabilities.This is a combination of the C and Bourne shells and is represented with a $ prompt. What is Gopher and Telnet? There are vast developements happening in the fiesld of internet.All the latest developement is useful in progress of communication facilities. There are two tools gopher and Telnet are being ignored nowadays,which was most wideley used tool of the internet. it lets you search list of resources and then helps send the material to you.When you use gopher you cross the internet by moving deeper and deeper intpo the menu.Using the gopher you can access library catalogue,files,and other databases.s Gopher essentially takes a request for information and then scans the net for it,so you don't have to.it works through menus instaed of typing in some long sequence of characters,you just have to move a cursor through mouse or keyboard of your choice and press enter. Your Windows XP Operating system have Hyper terminal that you can use to connect to other computers, Telnet sites, bulletin board systems (BBSs), online services, and host computers, using either your modem or a null modem cable. If you want to browse through Telnet or Bulletin borads,or Newsgroups and Listserve groups you can use Hyper terminal.Though these tools are history but they are still valuable source of information.
