Alchemy is ancient chemistry and there is science involved in it. Some say that Alchemist study properties of metals like lead so that they can turn them into gold. A famous alchemist in the past is Nicholas/Nikolas Flamel. He was said to have discovered the Philosopher's Stone which, when even a small sliver of it is mixed with any metal, turns it into gold. There are mythological aspects of alchemy also. It is often said that the Philosopher's stone in it's liquid form is called 'The Elixir of Life' and it can heal any ailment/disease in the world and can even grant its owner immortality. HAS ANYONE READ THE HARRY POTTER SERIES? Nicholas Flamel was there in the first book, HP and the Philosopher's Stone. I hope I helped.

Ahh! Movies! These are my top 3 picks. I could have added more but since it says only the top 3 favorites... 1] Amelie - I recommend this to anyone! It's a great film about this French, introvert waitress who fixes the lives of people around her and discovers that she has difficulties fixing her own. Very, very amusing! This is directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet and stars Audrey Tautou. Both also did 'A very long engagement' last year. I'm actually gonna do a website about the movie soon!2] Reality Bites - I saw this when I was probably 11 or 12. I was a big Winona Ryder fan after watching Little Women and after seeing this movie I became obessesed in watching all of her movies. When I see this movie now I still feel warm and fuzzy. With witty, intelligent conversations between all of the characters, it's such a feel-good movie!3] About a boy - I thought I'd put 'The Royal Tenenbaums' here but I figured I like this movie better. This is based on Nick Hornby's novel and I love it to death. I especially like the scene where Marcus sang on stage while people were laughing, then Will(Hugh Grant) saved him by joining him and playing the guitar.

I'm working on an OFFLINE SYSTEM that uses PHP and MySQL. Something that can be used by a small network of PC's to do transactions. These are problems I need to solve:1] I need A CODE THAT REFRESHES THE PAGE EVERY TWO OR SO MINUTES. That way the new entries in the database gets seen on the page and I don't have to press F5 or click refresh everytime. 2] How do you set CHMOD PERMISSIONS WHILE USING APACHE AS MY SERVER (OFFLINE)?Is the idea of an OFFLINE SYSTEM sounds garbage? Is it okay to use it for transactions within a small network? SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE HIGHLY APPRECIATED. Thanks in advance Notice from Johnny: Topic title change per request of owner.

Dunno why! )1) Australia 2) Philippines 3) Hong Kong 4) United States 5) Turkey 6) Canada 7) Great Britain 8) Mexico 9) European Union 10) Singapore 11) Italy 12) Germany I'm from the Philippines and my country only ranked 2! I don't even know anybody from Australia!! ARE MOST Xisto MEMBERS FROM AUSTRALIA?!!!

Trap17 Vs Asta which one do you like and why?
leiaah replied to badinfluence's topic in General Discussion
I came across Xisto because I was looking for a free webhosting service that offers PHP and MySQL support. I was a bit skeptical at first because I've had my heart broken by other services before but now three months later I'm still happy with Xisto. I like Xisto because it has a cooler name (compared to Asta! Hihi!) and I LOVE THE COMMUNITY! People here are generous to me. They give me good answers. -
I know. Does it have to do with meta tags? I don't think I've put some on some of the pages, could it be that? It's been online since the first week of March.

I am one and I plan to save myself until I'm married or at least until I found the right person. I'm a Catholic and we do value the sanctity of marriage and therefore the sacredness of sex and there are those who strictly "obey" the rules to a point of looking down at people who have done it but I have to admit that times are changing and I do have friends who have tried and apparently enjoyed it. I have no plans of course of conforming to what these friends are doing because I'm not that kind of person. I am a virgin if I choose to be a virgin, you know? I don't lose respect to people who have done it because they have their reasons and it was probably out of love but I don't like people who brag about doing it and those who do it just to derive pleasure. I think there's more to it than pleasure, it's should be an expression of the love that two people share.

I don't get anything. This is the message displayed. Hmm?
-
The message that appears when an error is caught doesn't even display. It's a general error message so I'm not sure anymore if it's due to traffic.
-
Sorry, is it due to some server traffic?

Hey guys. Is PHP working fine for you these days? I don't know what's wrong with mine but my php script doesn't seem to execute itself. I don't get a message in my confirmation page and my entry (in my blog) doesn't get added in the database (mysql). It worked fine days ago. Do you know what's wrong?I'm sorry I'm still a novice with PHP and MySQL.

I have a STUPID question. What's the difference between the two? They all look the same to me.
-
I actually use both programs. I always use fontpage first because I find making tables and cells easier and because making them in dreamweaver can be a bit pesky for me. I later use dreamweaver for adding extra stuff like behaviors and the maps for the links.I agree with almost everyone here. It is easier to use frontpage at first because it is a microsoft product and if you know how to use other MS Office tools then you'll easily get acquainted with frontpage. Using dreamweaver would be a bit tacky for novice users but once you see all its capabilities you'll know why people prefer it over frontpage.

Wow! All in MSPaint? You sure have the patience to use that program. It must be terrible to press ctrl + z and find out that nothing happens. Impressive! Good work! I especially like the underwater picture with all the fishies swimming. swim swim!

Hey! Can I avail adsense even if I'm not from the US?
-
Why don't you try renaming homepage.htm to index.htm? This works even with different extensions like index.php or index.html. Typing your URL automatically displays the index page. Hope I was able to help. Cheers!

Hey Caveman! I think you've posted in my post before and I think you've helped me with something. Good luck to all your endeavours and may you be drunk with joy. Architecture huh? That's one of the courses I wanted to take before. *I think I went off the topic already. Go do your thing!

I was wondering how you can change the appearance of your site. Some sites I've visited allow visitors to select a different theme that they like. Sometimes the picture in the banner changes and the color of the text. I noticed that the page has the same filename and doesn't refresh or direct you to a page with a different name and theme. Was this made with a script? I'm really interested in doing something like this for my site. If you don't understand me, you can go visit this site. Thes skins menu is at the right side (below the search, above the polls) http://www.mugglenet.com/

Woohoo! It worked! Thanks a lot. There's this line in my code that says: $string=stripslashes($string);I just copy-paste code from an ebook that's why I don't know how to debug things. Haha! Thank you very much. You made me happy today!

City Day/ Night Two graphics you can use for your sig...
leiaah replied to GM-University's topic in Art & Creativity
I like the day better. It's nice and clean. I like the way the sun hides at the back of the building and its rays are escaping at the sides. I like sunshines! -
Rammstein is goth right? I don't like goth music. It turns me off when they sing/shout like that. It sounds scary too. My cousin has a their cd before. No offense intended. It's just what I think.
