  1. Hi eiteljoh, this is quite a peculiar matter, but we moderators do not have any control over hosting credits and hosting management. Therefore, only the admins can deal with this matter. Can you provide a screenshot of the message you are getting? Thanks-whyme

  7. In my opinion, it is not what the brand of computer it is, but rather what OS (Linux, Windows, FreeBSD) it is using. However, since you asked this question, I wouldn't recommend DELL, it's much too mass produced and lacks the good hardware other companies provide. I'd suggest that you look into customized computers, and customize it to your fullest needs. Otherwise, IBM wouldn't be a bad choice for begining a server. IBM's computer technology is reliable and in my opinion exceeds over other brands. On a completely different note, here's some advice on running your own server. 1. Use Linux, MandrakeLinux, or a linux derative to run your server AVOID Windows at all costs. 2. Apache is the most powerful and most used Server Program, and best of all, it's free, so go to http://apache.org/ 3. Server maintanice will be "hell", if you don't set up a proper firewall, because your server will easily get hacked into. 4. Install PHP, MySQL, from http://php.net/ and http://www.mysql.com/ Have fun and Good Luck on starting a server, if you've got any questions or problems when running it, give me a PM.
  8. I highly recommend that you not use frontpage, thewebsite coding is not w3 complaint, and is only meant for IE users, meaning that roughly 15 percent of the broswers out there will see a really wierd site, that won't work. I suggest that you learn CSS and XHTML, something that FrontPage sucks at doing. If you are looking for another program, I find DreamWeaver MX to be quite useful. Here are some resources you can look at when designing websites: (I use them all the time ) http://www.oswd.org/ http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ http://cssbeauty.com/ http://cssvault.com/rg-erdr.php?_rpo=t http://csszengarden.com/ http://www.cubancouncil.com/work/project/kaliber-10000

  13. If you are using macs you can install Virtual Windows XP, the XP OS running on your Mac.
  14. Yes, you are allowed to do that.
  15. hehe, there's just no way that Windows can beat the Macs, I mean, Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) is getting released soon, and will only add to Microsoft's horror. Like what Apple says: "Macs are Beatutiful". If Macs were people, I'd marry it, and Microsoft would be an old hag.
