  1. That really is disgusting. Not only is that showing ignorance and stupidity, it's also a total lack of patriotism. Who the hell goes to someone's funeral like and does that sort of crap? I've never seen any such lowly and dispicable acts in my entire life. They might as well have a mass genocide for homosexual people if they're going to pull that ****. God that's pathetic. gragh. Hating people just because of their sexuality is just plain wrong. There's just no point.
  2. I suggest you do, like someone said, find topics that interest you. Personally, this Vent forum is my favorite forum because I make topics that I like to debate in and other people make topics as well. >_> My posts are usually quality posts, so it gets me hosting easily. And yes, quality > quanity. I would rather read a very long, thought-out post, than a short, useless waste-of-space post.
  3. lol, sorry. I wasn't trying to make you think the way I do. I know it sounded like that when I was incoherently 'speaking for everyone', it was all just my philosophical BS. But yes, your last sentence would be better than just 'equality' Excuse me, do I care? You have no right to tell me that my "eternity" hangs is on the line. You have no right to decide that Christianity is the true religion, that if you do not follow Christianity, you are damned for hell. You might as well just become a missionary and convert all buddhists and hindus and all the other religions not a part of Christianity. Kill some Jews while you're at it. And you can honestly say that he's your master? What are you? Some sort of servant? You have no mind of your own anymore after saying that. I never brought my religion in. I "attacked" the bible because it was the easiest source at reach and currently in my mind at that time. I know there are other sources, but I didn't care. I'm not feeling attacked, you are attacking me. You're indirectly saying that all religion's except Christianity are wrong. That you have no mind whatsoever, open to other possiblities. You have a closed mind and you are infringing it upon me. This topic is mine. I made it. You are posting in it. And this: Perhaps the greatest danger lies not in being wrong but in being so certain you're right that you refuse to listen to anything else., is the perfect explanation for you. The Bible doesn't speak of anything but stupid stories. Sorry, I don't buy them. Again, you.
  4. What the hell are you not getting? I'm not Christian, I despise your bible, and I hate your teachings and the millions of interpretations out there. They are pointless to me and they serve no purpose but to blind me from the truth. And another thing, I was never talking about the bible. I was talking about Christianity's past. And what is this? Oh, it looks like you're telling me that because Jesus isn't a part of my life, that automatically means that I'm going to be sent to your Christian, imaginary, fake, make-believe, so-called "hell" where I'll be damned for eternity because I don't believe in some crap religion that is intentionally forced upon me, with a history of "If you don't convert, we'll kill you" type of thing. I'm not interested in Christian theology because personally, I don't like to live my life by some book composed of letters or whatever written by apostles, missionaries, converts, you name it. I'm not going to believe in someone who claims they "met God and he told them to do this and that" and I'm not going to just simply lay myself out to follow some religion that has a HORRIBLE past. Your so-called God is why our world is this way. You look around and it's all trash and crap. There's nothing good about this world and we serve no purpose than to survive. Why is it that animals don't have religions? They're simply-minded creatures who strive only to survive as a species. Your God is merely a figment of your imagination, leading you to believe that there is a 'nirvana'. To you, God is your savior (or Jesus is) and he's basically your life. I'd rather not live my life in servitude to someone whom I don't even know exists. Even if he has the potential of existing, I still couldn't care less or do anything about it. If I sound close-minded, it's because you sure are giving off that aura as well. You're shoving your religion in my face and I really don't appreciate it. I'm not willing to read your posts trying to defend your religion because frankly, I could really care less. You can call me an uneducated brat for it, but I don't care.
  5. Um...thanks for letting me know...You're not getting my point. We got off topic long ago when people misunderstood the difference between equality and what they as humans really want. It isn't impossible, but in our society, it is. It's not a matter of eqality, it's, like you said, to be treated as equals. But really, you want to be treated equally, or right? If you were treated equally, then lets have this scenario. <start scenario> Men are allowed to beat eachother with large sticks. Law says men cannot beat women with large sticks, it's immoral, do it and you will be hung. Law also says that women are not allowed to vote. Law also says that women are not allowed to eat eggs. >>Bunches of women protest about wanting to vote and to eat eggs<< Soon, this baffle turns into women wanting equality because it's easier to say that rather than a bunch of laws that should allow both genders do whatever. Okay, so the law now says that all genders are susceptible to being able to do everything the other sex is able to. Now the men are allowed to beat women with sticks as well. >>women whine<< Oh what? You said you wanted to be treated as equals, now you're pissing and whining that we are? What is your problem? </end scenario> Do you see my point? You don't want equality. No you don't. You want what's fair. Equality is not fair. Equality is not about opportunities or rights, equality is being treated exactly the same as the next person. And you never asked me about what was wrong with being Atheist. I never said anything was wrong with being Atheist. You were talking to Novaterra when you said that. jzyehoshua, I really could care less about the differences between Christianity, Catholicism, Lutheranism, whatever. They are all sects of Christianity whether you like it or not. To me, they are exactly the same. They use the bible, they believe in Jesus, and they believe in the same basic god. What's the difference? One has a preacher one has a pope? Who cares? They both teach their interpretations. To argue with you is a losing game. We are not going to get anywhere, so I would appreciate if you would stop shoving your Christianity stories and missionary stories etc. in my face because I am not doing the same to you. I understand, religion is a great way to renew your life, but how many people are there, that truly follow religion? Probably less than 30% of the world. There are people everywhere who either halfway or barely follow. Religion is just not what it was supposed to be, and with new discoveries and theories that are far more convincing than stories written by people such as Paul and whoever, it's almost not worth it. If you die and go to hell, who cares? To be spiritually healthy is good and to have purpose in life is good, but honestly, living to serve an organized religion, where the ultimate 'king' apparently lives all around you, is not exactly my idea of "life". Maybe if you people would follow Luther's 3 rules, such as the Bible is the Final Authority and Praying to God, not to a preacher, then maybe I wouldn't be so dissonant on the subject. You go to church and you listen to a sermon. Why? I find it pointless and just void of meaning. You cannot interpret the bible yourself, so you must seek it through another? Cheezy and lame. Anyways, if you are just trying to "make me understand", which is what it seems to be, you're failing completely. I really don't care what you have to say to support your religion. I was seriously joking there. And they can't get laid because they're dead anyways.
  6. ^ haha, well that was purposely. Everyone does that. I mean, what else are you going to say? If it's a boring day, there are very few interesting topics. It's the people who ask questions repeatedly, on purpose that really...grrr...
  7. Haha, that's a good one.Hypocrites really are irksome sometimes, but hey, everyone is a hypocrite at some point in time.
  8. Heh...sorry anyways. No, I'm not atheist. An atheist is someone who doesn't believe in a god or gods. That basically means that you are not Christian (or any of it's sects), Jewish, a...greek god believer(what's it called?) or any of that stuff. I never said that I didn't believe in <i>a</i> god, I just 'meant' I don't believe in the Christian God. Capice? I wasn't talking about women in that post though. I may have mentioned it and gotten confused, but I was talking about humans in general. You may not realize it, but the women that you know want respect...I wasn't necessarily talking about superiority, having power over you? No no, don't mistake me. Respect comes in different forms. It's quite a flexible word if you ask me anyways. There is no such thing as equality, trust me. If everyone/thing was equal...well, I'm sure you can just imagine it. Nothing wrong with it, but never possible. jzyehoshua, I would argue more with you on your Christianity, but this topic isn't about that. Besides, if it's because of "people like me" who 'rebel' against organized religions, then you can blame your popes from the past. Maybe your God should have been a bit brighter, allowing who to teach their 'interpretations' of 'God's' words, rather than letting anyone do it. It's not my fault that the Bible's words have become so twisted in the centuries late. And I wasn't serious about that missionaries bit. I know they're trying to spread their religion to 'gather people to the good side' or whatever, but maybe the books and speaches that are put out have laid that impression on me, and because I cannot go back in time to actually see what happened....
  9. Did anyone here take the SAT on June 4th? If so, what was your score? Mine was fairly low...I need about 20-40 points for each section to get into colleges that I really want to go to...though, I really don't know what I wanted to actually do as a major anyways so I don't know. I'm going to retake it because a higher score is always better anyways, right? My scores: Reading 540 Math 600 Writing 590 Essay 9 That's for a total of 1730/2400, in otherwords, a 72%. It's 200 points better than what I got on the practice test so I'm happy. Eh...First I need to really figure out what I want to do though. At first, I wanted to do something with graphic designing, but then I didn't want to...then I wanted to do something more with art, but I fell out of that, then I wanted to do psychology, but that takes too long, and now i've considered to do something with criminal investigation, which would really be interesting. I found some schools with all those that I said above as courses so that I can always choose to fall back in case I change my mind...however, liberal arts schools are completely out of the question... Anyways, what were your scores and what college/career are you going for? Lol...it might help if you could even suggest a career that you think would be interesting that I might try and look in on...Or, does anyone know of a site where you can take a test to approximate what career would be a good fit for you? ;_; I'm desperate almost.
  10. Ah. I like Avant. It's got tabbed browsing and a whole bunch of other stuff but takes so much less time to load. I like using IE because every once in a while, I get lazy and don't feel like opening up say, my documents, from my desktop or something and it's just easier to type it in the address space rather than having to open up a different browser and waiting.
  11. Firefox is great and all, but with all the added extensions, it bogs the browser down. Of course, you can always get rid of them, but the extensions are what makes is a great browser... For me, IE is just as secure as FF is. I've never gotten spyware from using IE. If you do, it might be because of your settings. They have problems, but you can overcome them easily.... FF is slow for me to run. I have 64 mb of ram. It's just really annoying for me to have to wait 5 minutes for FF to load, when it takes but 10 seconds for IE to come up. I either use IE or Avant anyways. I've already fixed the code and it shows up right... Thanks for helping though.
  12. I've had FireFox, but I hate using it.I checked my code....it was fine, but I had to make a lot of adjustments =/ Thanks again...I suppose.
  13. I personally like IE better..it's really simple and all those extensions tend to bog down mozilla, making it run super slow...I had a friend who's firefox was using up 100 mb of ram.....If you continue having spyware and what not from browsing IE, it's simply because you're failing to secure yourself..There are settings in IE that allow you to block certain things and adding a google toolbar is really great as well...I use IE because it takes up the least ram...I have a total of 64mb of ram and firefox doesn't work great on that.Personally, I like Avant Browser as well...it's really simple, uses less ram, has themes and can transfer over your bookmarks and settings from IE so it's a simple setup anyways.Firefox is great....but there's just some things that get really annoying about it.
  14. @_@ I don't get all this mumbo jumbo. Oh well, thanks guys.
  15. hmmm.....=/ So that means that FireFox is limited to only certain/some websites? Lame.
  16. I know what you mean. It is better overall to test how well you communicate, not just how well you know it. Knowing it is good, but knowing how to use it is better. Plus, the stuff they teach you at school, like for instance in french class, they taught us just a bunch of little things that we probably never use. They should teach you how to speak regularly so that you know how the language is actually used....not point in learning something that will never be put into use anyways, right?
  17. Awesome. ^ I hate that photoshop doesn't have the dashed lines. I've always tried to make lines and erasing them, but the lines eventually become uneven and I get frusterated and stick with solid lines.Great tutorial though.
  18. Is there a reason as to why certain websites don't show up properly on FireFox?Like..for every website that I've made, the layouts look perfectly fine on IE, but when I get on Firefox, they get all messed up? Is there a way to fix this? Like for instance, my current site has a picture on the left side and an iframe on the right. It's perfectly fine on IE, but when my friend uses FF to view it, he was saying how he had to scroll down to see the content....like the iframe was moved to the bottom of the picture or something?
  19. Oh wow, thanks guys. I have another question....is there a way to make the 'circle' different on hover? Like, I cut it out and made it 'brighter' so that when you hover over the circles, they'll light up. >_> How would you do that?
  20. Raptrex is right. You don't want to have TOO much animation/pictures/whatever. It'd bog down 56kers and also anyone who has a slow computer. That'd be that much less visitors to your site =/ Plus, it can be tacky sometimes as well.To make your site more unique, you should try something different. Nothing the same as every other site. It should show off you and your creativeness. It doesn't have to be outstanding, but it has to be original. Just...don't choose crap color combinations >_>
  21. ^ Ha, I definately agree. Though you can always change your subdomain name as well, only, it costs you 10 credits. >_>Mine's mint so it's pretty outwardly and it can be anything I want....either that or I could really care less anyways. ::shrug::
  22. I wanted to try a different layout but my lack of in-depth html knowledge prevents me from moving forward....I didn't know where else to post this, but I needed help so... this is the image: http://echo.cx/ I wanted to do frames but I wanted also to make the links be from the image....... Meaning, you see the flowers? Where the petals come out of, the circular things >_>;; They're magenta, cyan, and green. Um...these things: http://echo.cx/. Well, I wanted to make links out of those circular things and have them point into a frame (which is what the empty space out to the right would be...) Can anyone tell/teach me how you can do that? I know you have to do absolute positioning or whatever it's called, and I've already got them cut out as gifs, but now I need to actually know how to link them. I don't have any html set up as of now, I just kinda wanted to know how you would start off? I thank you guys in advance, if you're able to help me =/
  23. Congrats on getting through with it. You should be happy that you know 2(+) languages. I only know 2 languages =\ I didn't take any language tests or whatever of the sort, but I did take the SAT's on June 4th. They weren't necessarily hard, but I didn't realize the shortness of time that we had so I didn't exactly get to finish some of the sections....had like, 2-3 questions left =/I think you should take heart in that test that you took because it shows that you really learned something about the English language. Boring they may be, they still let you know how well you know the thing being tested....at least that's my opinion. Though there are some tests we could all do without.
  24. That's nice compared to what I could do. I have no photoshop skills whatsoever. However, I hate the purple. >_> And what's the robot's purpose? To fill up space? Or does Nils like it? Unless it's just totally random, then ignore me.
  25. And I suppose I take your two cents because you just made me want to rewrite my first post.
