Three Minute Silence To Be Held Next Wednesday
static replied to Dodger's topic in General Discussion
I haven't heard on the news that these three minutes of silence will be taken, but I could be wrong. Yes this is a good thing to remember the 150,000 that have died in one of the worst natural disasters that this world has ever experienced. Remembering them will help, but what they need more of is aid whether it be food, shelter, water, treatment, whatever. So donating along with remembering will help them out a lot. Sadly, the number of dead is still rising and paying our respect is something we can do to help them out in this troubled time. -
Trap17 Special Logo As a dedication to the best hosting...

Well done JaVe. I like the style of it and the reflection was nicely done too. -
UnitedMailSystems doesn't have 150,000% more storage than the other "big guys" that people use. Google's e-mail system, Gmail, has 1 GB which is plenty of space to store pictures and your regular e-mails. Google is also a trusted company that is continually growing day by day so more people will chose a company like Google. Don't get me wrong, there are people that have accounts with UnitedMailSystems, but most of the tech people have Gmail accounts. Gmail may not have everything that UnitedMailSystems has, but give Google time and it will most likely get there. Seńor Maniac this is the website for terabyte e-mail accounts. /legacy

Welcome aboard Dooga to the Xisto community. Hopefully you are enjoying your web service so far. There are no problems for hosted members that I can think of. The benefits of being hosted is that you get all that stuff in your cpanel and you become part of the hosted group. Like SilentWarrior said, all Xisto admins ask in return is to be contributive to the forums and <- snipped -> Support Xisto, spread the word, and help others. Enjoy your stay here Dooga. }}}}}}

Since winter break has started for me, I'm looking into purchasing Counter-Strike:Condition Zero. The reviews for the game might be kind of low than what people expected but hey, it's still a Counter-Strike game so it has to be good. Another way to look at it is if your internet goes down when you're playing Counter-Strike then you can just load up Condition Zero. For the people that have played Condition Zero, what is the experience like? Was it worth buying?

The last book I read was The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne (I believe that's how you spell his name). I didn't want to read it, but rather for my class at school. It is kind of boring because there is hardly any action at all, since I'm the type of person that likes books with action, and also it is wordy. Most of you have probably read this book for school and didn't like it either, but I could be wrong. Now I'm reading books on computer languages to refresh my memory.

If you have a bunch of files, folders, etc. that you want to get rid of, can I reset my account or does an admin have to? My account doesn't need to be reset but I'm just asking now if I do ever need this to be done. Thanks.

I would have to say that I really don't have a favorite type of music, because I like a little bit of everything. There is some music that I like more than others of course. Some examples are techno, smooth jazz, classical, r&b, pop, and other different culture music. Then there are others that I can only take a little bit of like rapp. You can also include country in there as I can only take minimal amounts of it. This is my opinion and other people's are probably much more different.

I have traveled to a couple places in the United States and outside the borders. Inside the borders I have been to California, Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, Missouri, Idaho, Nebraska and a couple others. Outside the borders I have been to Canada, Hawaii, and some other islands. Other places outside the United States are way better in my opinion, because you hardly get to go to them unless you have family or you really like it and want to go back.

Well it does get kind of boring now since VALVe's VAC doesn't operate as well as it used to and ban the hackers. Hackers are now appearing left and right and destroying the game, but there are some servers where hackers hardly ever come and that is the place where you can have a fun time and enjoy playing. So yes it does get boring and even annoying when hackers are on the server you are on but there are always other servers you can join where hackers won't be.

I have a 80 gigabyte hard drive by Western Digital. 80 GB is plenty of space for me because I usually don't fill it up with junk that takes up a lot of hard drive space. My gaming folders like Steam only takes up about 10 gigabytes which leaves plenty of space for other important things like backing up other stuff, getting movies, music, pictures, or anything else that would be important or entertaining.

ZoneAlarm would probably be the best firewall that you could get out there. Also another firewall is Sygate's personal firewall which is also a very good firewall. It got more stars according to PC World or PC Magazine (Don't know which one). Both have a variety of features for security but ZoneAlarm has more. It just depends which one you want and both will protect your computer from intruders, hackers, etc. very well. Then there are the others like McAfee or Norton which are good also but not as "powerful" as ZoneAlarm and Sygate.

What Processor You Have? PC processors only please.
static replied to finaldesign's topic in Hardware Workshop
I have an AMD Athlon XP 2500+ which is overclocked to a 3200+. It runs at about 2.21 Ghz. It runs pretty stable most of the time and has never failed on me once to this day. Once I heard a buzzing noise and thought that the time was up but luckily it was only a faulty power supply and I replaced it with a 420 watt power supply. I'm now looking into an Athlon 64, probably a high 3800 or an FX. This would be an upgrade for the games that come out in the future. -
Zubair1, yes I like your idea. Yahoo should put some of the space into e-mail, but a majority of it should go to Geocities. People probably want more webspace than e-mail since previously Yahoo had 100 MB which is plenty. I use Gmail and I haven't even used 5 percent of it yet. I also use Yahoo for other things but yes Gmail does rock.

A hard decision, but I think I will have to lean towards Aquafresh. With their triple layer toothpaste it cleans my mouth really well and leaves my mouth smelling minty fresh. It also fights gingivitis I believe and protects your gums. Now that's one good toothpaste. Crest is my second favorite type behind Aquafresh.

My favorite games as of this point are Counter-Strike, Half-Life both 1 and 2, Halo both 1 and 2, TimeSplitters 2, Counter-Strike:Condition Zero and Counter-Strike:Source. As you can see yes, I really do like Counter-Strike and the mods for it. Halo 1 and 2 are both my favorite console games because my friends and I have lan parties and halo is truly the original game of xbox.

Even though I live in the states, soccer would have to be my favorite sport and not american football. I have played it ever since I was young, and progressively I have gotten better and better. I've played on traveling teams, local teams, and on my high school team. By the way my position is defender. Always played it and always will.

The last movie I saw was Men of Honor on DVD. All of have to say was wow. The rating I would give is easily a 9 out of 10. Many of you have probably already seen it but for those who haven't it shows how a black person goes through all the trouble about his racial ethnicity to prove to men in rank and his fellow mates that he is probably the best diver there is.

What is your favourite weapons in CS? Knife is included...lol
static replied to hansley's topic in Computer Gaming
Well now I would like to elaborate on my favorite guns. AK-47 for my rifle because I can easily get headshots and recoil is perfect. Deagle because it is powerful and I can usually get a headshot in 2-3 shots. MP5Navy for the sub-machine gun because it has hardly any recoil and is very easy to use for any person. And to wrap up, the magnum is my favorite sniper because it is extremely powerful and I can easily switch from scope to pistol when necessary. -
Google Desktop Search A Possible Spyware? Spyware????????????
static replied to solankyno1's topic in Software
My local newspaper was saying that Google's Desktop Search is good only if you are using it on your own computer. If you are using it on a public computer then trouble starts brewing. People can search through private files, etc. without your permission. So this is just a heads up for people that are interested in using this or have already started using it. -
Best NFS series? - Which is the best Need fer Speed serie
static replied to Milli Riba's topic in Computer Gaming
I own and have played all of the Need for Speed games and all I can say is wow. From the very beginning with Need for Speed the graphics were ok, but they have gotten considerably better. From the choices in the poll, Underground would be my favorite because you have the options of customizing your car in every way possible, multiplayer, and different single player missions. -
I was cosidering buying Counter-Strike:Condition Zero until I saw ratings for it and heard what my friends were telling me about it. It got lower ratings than what I thought at about 7.0-8.0. (If I remember correctly at Gamespot). Some of my friends say that the bots in the missions are pretty lame and easy to beat, and others say that they are advanced. I have seen screenshots of it and the graphics look pretty cool. So I'm still debating whether or not to get it.
