  1. Everything is God, if most people's definition is to be believed. God is, depending on who you ask, a 'supreme being' a 'higher power' or a 'higher form'. Man is a 'higher form' than an ape, therefore to the ape man is God. Also, God, being the Creator of man, made man in His image. God breathed life into man, so man has a part of God within. The Bible says He gave us power to become the sons of God. Jesus is the son of God - yet Jesus IS God if you follow that theology. Therefore, we are ALL God.
  2. Many of the most unique contributions to our society have come from people who have exhibited very little of what some would call 'common sense'. Think about this: 50 years ago a guy is sitting around thinking "wouldn't it be keen if I could put some stuff in a box and make it think, and...oh yeah, find a way I could use wires to set it up so I could talk to millions of people all over the world...and lets throw a huge database of information together that anyone can use!' I'll bet t lot of people thought that was a silly idea too...but you're sitting at the result, surfing the web.Let's not mistake thinking outside the box for a lack of common sense. To my way of thinking, a lack of common sense is a lot more evident in people like drunk drivers. 'Hey, I got drunk and crashed my car. LETS DO IT AGAIN!!!'
  3. Let's answer this by asking one simple question: did the Iraqis request our aid? The simple answer to that question is no. We are in Iraq for two reasons. The first and most obvious reason is oil. The second is the 'superman complex' of George W. Bush. Saddam has not been in power for what, two years? Three? What has really changed? As soon as we pull out of Iraq some other madman will take his place, and the Iraqis will be right back where they started. The Iraq war is nothing more than political posturing by a lame duck president who needed something to boost his poll scores. I feel bad for our troops over there who have no choice but to fulfill their orders. When will America stop trying to be the saviour of the world, and start fixing whats wrong in our OWN country? We can spend billions whipping a little democracy ( and our huge war machine) on some other country, while we have people sleeping on the ground just scant feet from the White House. We send millions into these war-torn (by us, in many cases) countries to help them feed themselves and repair all the damage, while we have children starving in our own backyards. I think we need to take care of our own before we try to fix everyone else.
  4. It has been said that a good man, turning his addicted friend over to a counselor, is somehow not good because his friend goes to prison, which ruins the friend's life. But hasn't the friend ALREADY ruined his life? The addict is already a slave to the drugs, so his freedom is a moot point. Most addicts perform poorly in a work environment, so his job is of little consequence.Ask yourself this: If the friend kicks the drugs in prison, and learns coping skills to keep him from turning back to drugs, did not the 'good man' IMPROVE his life, even if the method seems extreme?A 'good man' weighs the outcome against the method, and if the outcome is an improvement, sees that perhaps the method is a necessity.
  5. Life is what happens while we're waiting around to die.
  6. Neither - I like Greek Style pizza better than either of them.As for toppings - chopped linguica and pepperoni
  7. took me over a half hour to figure out... my girlfriend is screaming at me..."Tell me the ANSWER!!! too funny!
  8. Microsoft Windows Bill Gates Edition = Mac OSX
  9. While I can understand the logic behind it, I do not support the practice of strip search in schools. I mean, let's be honest. What are the chances that some school kid is going to be key to breaking some international drug cartel? Most would, at the most, have a few pills or some of mom and dad's weed. Not saying that its right, but let's look at the end result - kid gets a slap on the wrist for juvenile possession. Meanwhile, innocent kids get humiliated. Parents sue the schools. The schools spend money defending their actions that could better be spent EDUCATING our kids. The police get a bad rap for being 'the bad guys' after the parents spend much of a kid's childhood telling them the cops are the good guys. And for what? A few pills or a joint? Use the dogs if you want, search lockers by all means - but keep the kids dressed. There is such a thing as taking things too far.
  10. Many of the free chats are problematic. I have tried X7 Chat, MyChat, and I don't know how many other free chats. They are usually fine for 4 or 5 users, but lag like crazy and refresh constantly when you get past that. Flash Chat and AmfiChat I have seen handle many more users with far less issues. If you are running a pro site, its worth the five bucks.
  11. I use primarily Firefox and IE. I use Opera sometimes. I have been hearing quite a bit about Maxthon, but have yet to try it. What do users of this browser see in it? What makes it unique, I guess is my question? Any feedback is welcome.
  12. Either the Bible is ALL right, or it is not the work of a PERFECT GOD. By saying the Bible is 2/5 reliable, you take the position that SOME of the Bible is wrong. You have offered NO BIBLICAL PROOF. I can produce SCRIPTURES to support any argument. But you still have not shown me anything to support Biblical opposition to abortion. And since the Bible is the WORD OF GOD, you have not shown that God is against it. You can claim your 'proof' still stands until you're blue in the face, that doesn't make it so. Perhaps you should come up with some RELIABLE proof, or rethink your debate. Because you're clearly grasping at straws.
  13. The works of Anton LaVey aren't in the Bible either...because they were not intended to be...just as your 'Apocalypse of Peter' was not intended to be. But I am shocked to see you express disbelief in the INSPIRED WORD OF GOD. If the Bible is only 2/5ths reliable, then it could not have come from God, who is perfect, and 'wrote' the Bible through His Divine inspiration. By claiming the Bible is only 2/5ths reliable, you call the entire Bible a lie. Either it is all true, or it is all a lie. You can't have it both ways. No true Christian would doubt the truth of the Bible as you have. We are also instructed not to add or take away from the words of the Bible, as you have attempted to do here. You only succeed in proving my point...that there is NO BIBLICAL SUPPORT for abortion, in and of itself, being wrong. You can try to fall back on the 'murder is murder' defense, but then you would need to have conclusive proof of when 'life' begins, and that takes us into the realm of science, not the Bible.I still await proof. So far I have speculation, questionable evidence, and excuses.
  14. From a link off your own link: Sorry, but none of MY Bibles mention the book 'Apocalypse of Peter'... I'm not aware of any that do. It's not even in the Geneva, which is widely regarded as the most complete translation. So the best you can do is a passage from a book which cannot even be verified to be part of the Bible? Last I checked, all of my references were from ACCEPTED TRANSLATIONS. You're reaching, my friend. Try again. And have STILL yet to prove, since the reference you make is not even FROM the Bible, but from an unverified manuscript of dubious origin. Even the website it was quoted on only gives its reliability a 2 of a possible 5. Come on, surely you can do better than this?
