  1. hi,yeah. that is the answer. You are adding count2 to count3 in the inner block. But since count3 is not declared in the inner block, it affects the count3 variable in the outer scope and hence 30 is added to the existing value of 50. This gives the answer as 80.you would understand it better if you just output count3 in the inner block.Cheers.

  2. hi Milovoriel,I suppose the problem is either with your PC or your ISP. Since you have reinstalled everything on your PC afresh and still the problem exists can mean only one thing.. ur ISP. How is the connection speed, what connection are you using.. I assume it has to be dial up but since the new look of Xisto, even a decent dial up should load the page before timing out... Try accessing from a PC elsewhere, if it is fine then you can be sure about problem with your net connection. Now try using your dial up connection from a friend's place or somewhere else, if it is fine now too then it might be a problem with your phone line or the wire from your PC modem to the phone. These are a few basic checks that I could suggest. else consult someone better acquainted person around you for help...Cheers.

  3. I have always been a great fan of Google Search. So undoubtedly it is the best google service as far as I am concerned. But Gmail is a close second. As these two fields are the most used services, they are also most spent upon by Google(I suppose) so they tend to improve a lot faster than other services. I like google labs and the google newsletter or blog (the one that google publishes every month or so.. ) too.Cheers.

  4. hi,

The credit card breaches are starting to occur more frequently now.. (at least twice in last two months.. as far as I remember). Read the following article:

In what could be the largest data security breach to date, MasterCard International on Friday said information on more than 40 million credit cards may have been stolen.
Of those exposed accounts, about 13.9 million are for MasterCard-branded cards, the company said in a statement. Some 20 million Visa-branded cards may have been affected and the remaining accounts were other brands, including American Express and Discover.

MasterCard and Visa both say they have notified their member banks of the specific accounts involved so the banks can take action to protect cardholders.

"In sheer numbers, this is probably one of the largest data security breaches," said James Van *person*, principal analyst at Javelin Strategy & Research in Pleasanton, Calif.

Credit Card Breach : CNet News.com

So how safe are we with credit cards now?? It is time the credit card companies take more care and security measures to prevent such fraud.

Today, a credit card can be used online just by knowing the number and few other details. The security mechanism should be such that some sort of password is also required for authentication...

After all, I would not be paying for someone else's purchase....

    Cheers.

  5. yeah, I am sure this is a fake.. coz.. Yahoo would never send you an attachment to click and confirm. In genunine cases, it would have a link on the yahoo domain where you need to go and furnish the explanation of something of that sort, but definitely online stuff and not anything to do with attachment. This is most probably a virus or a trojan. Another thing that you can do is view the header and determine th ip address of the source. Do an who is lookup for that ip and see whether it belongs to yahoo! . If it does not then it surely is not from yahoo! , but that does not mean that if it belongs to yahoo! it is genuine. There are ways to do that too but just a simple check which might be useful in some cases.Cheers.

  6. hi friends,I dont think we need to merge any forums... yeah there are few cases when separate subforums would help.Go through the google topics forum.. there are so many posts and more than a few others... dont know what is the fuss abt google have a separate subforum... it just organizes the topics more clearly.'Make money online', yeah I have never used that sub-forum myself but am sure there are many who make use of it.. and if you look into the topics there, you would realize that they would be misfit if posted in any other forums.yeah, an optimum number of forums need to be present. Although it is a forum for free hosting, it does not mean that we just discuss hosting. It is more that just hosting, it is a great community in itself and all sorts of topics are discussed here. Also more organized forums with more categories help you visit only the forums of your interest without the need to browse through unwanted topics. This is my personal opinion...Cheers.

  7. yeah, I too hate splash screens.. unless the flash is extremely good and in context... it is a waste of time for the visitor. and most of them do click on the skip button to go through to the main page.I do not see the advantage of having such a page in the first place when it does not add any value to your website. If it is a website for animation or creative graphics, then showcasing them initially through a flash animation would be a good idea, you see in that case you have an audience who is interested in seeing your talents and would therefore prefer to watch the whole thing before proceeding further.Cheers.

  8. I suppose there is some misconfiguration. The amount of space shown is not correct. But instead on just posting the stats you should have stated what is problem is. It is just my assumption that you are asking about the space... but its better to be clear what you want answer for.An admin might look into it now that you have posted ur problem. If you dont get a reply within a day or two pm the admins with the query. Cheers.

  9. hi theillestmc12,

yes, if you want a domain name of your own, u need to purchase it. Only the Xisto subdomain comes for free(fair enough).
After that point it to Xisto. ( By specifying the Nameservers as NS1.TRAP17.COM and NS2.TRAP17.COM ).
Your domain will work within 1/2 days after the domain mapping propogates all over the internet.

    For more info:

    Cheers.

  11. Hi Varun,When your hosting/upgrade request gets accepted, all your accumulated points are reset to a low figure (3 or 4, dont remember exact number). So even if you have 200 points or 30 points it would get reset to the same. This is done so that a user does not stay inactive after getting hosting...This info is also available in many other posts in the hosted area forum.Admins, Mods : correct me if I am wrong....Cheers.

  12. hi Aro,actually even the free hosting has support for server side java technologies ie. jsp and servlets using Tomcat server. But since they are cpu intensive processes, they are not activated by default. If you do need them, you would need to ask for it specifically by PM ing the Opaque or the admins.hope this helped.. Cheers.P.S. btw this question has already been asked a few times in the forums, so it would have been good if you just searched the forums before posting here.

  14. yeah, I agree there are a number of features missing in IE and of course tabbed browsing is one of them..but we must accept that the parser that IE has to parse html files is superior to that of netscape or firefox...just a min... b4 u disagree let me tell u I am stating this coz of my experience while developing webpages.. if there is a certain tag missing or not closed the other browsers just mess up the page display but IE somehow manages to put up a proper display..I am not saying that the webpages should have such errors but just talking about the quality of parsing and guessing that the IE parser does...btw I use a browser that is built on the IE engine. its called maxthon... it has tabbed browsing and other featuers that are missing in IE.I have also used netscape and firefox.. I like them too but wud stick to maxthon...:DCheers.

  15. Two men met at a bus stop and struck up a conversation. One of them kept complaining of family problems. Finally, the other man said: "You think you have family problems?" Listen to my situation :-"A few years ago I met a young widow with a grown-up daughter and we got married. Later my father married my stepdaughter.. That made my stepdaughter my stepmother and my father became my stepson. Also, my wife became the mother-in-law of her father-in-law. Then the daughter of my wife, my stepmother, had a son. This boy was my half-brother because he was my father's son, but he was also the son of my wife's daughter which made him my wife's grandson. That made me the grand father of my half-brother. This was nothing until my wife and I had a son. Now the half-sister of my son, my stepmother, is also the grandmoth! er. This makes my father the brother-in-lawof my child, whose stepsister is my father's wife, I'm my stepmother's brother-in-law, my wife is her own child's aunt, my son is my father's nephew and I'm My own grandfather! And you think you have family problems?"Cheers.

  16. hi friends,

I have got a few interesting hoax trivia questions.
    Hope u like them:

    1. News vendors have usually been very creative in their FoolÂs Day jokes. In 1957 BBC reported that Switzerland had a good crop of this popular food item. It even showed peasants plucking strands of this item from trees. Sure enough the BBC office began receiving calls as to how this item could be grown to which they advised their listeners that they should put a stand of this item in a can of tomato sauce and hope for the best. What was the item?
    2. AlmanacÂs that foretold the events of the year to come was popular in England during the 17th and 18th century. In 1708, an astrologer named Isaac Bickerstaff published his almanac and predicted the death of a fellow astrologer and almanac writer John Partridge, which would take place on March 29th of that year. As a follow up he published a pamphlet on the 30th saying that he was right. Mr. Partridge had a tough day on FoolÂs Day as he tried to explain to a 18th century public that he was not a ghost. Eventually he left publishing almanacs. Later it was revealed that Isaac Bickerstaff was the pseudonym adapted by a popular satirist for this hoax. Name the satirist.

    3. In 1976 astronomer Patrick Moore announced that a once in a lifetime
astronomical event would take place and if the people jumped up at exactly 9:47 a.m. they would experience something strange. Tell me what the astronomical event was and what did he say the people would experience?

    4. Why did the USSR adapt the domain name Âkremvax when it linked up to the Internet?

    5. This one is good. Tell me why would the chief engineer of British Telecom order all the female employees in the laboratory disclose what type of bra they were wearing?

    6. A brilliant hoax claimed that the American Congress was going to pass a bill numbered SB 040194. What was the bill all about?

    7. Who is Professor Olaf Lipro and what did he discover?

    8. In 1998 a lavish party was held at Jeff KoonÂs studio to honor a great artist. The artist was a trouble abstract expressionist who had destroyed 99% of his own work before jumping to his death. David Bowie even read out selections from a biography that was soon to be released. The only problem?
No such artist existed. Can you name the fictional artist in whoÂs name this lavish party was thrown?

    9. In 1999 the Singapore Straits Times reported about a new start up company called Polo Flair. What was the product offered by Polo Flair?

10.In 1994 why did the Arizona Pest Removal Information Line (For Outside Operations Listings) ask the people of Peoria, Arizona to stay indoors from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.?
