Domains, Settings, Blah Blah! Etc. Read This!
Casanova replied to OpaQue's topic in Web Hosting Support
If I move to a paid account, can I carry with me my the free domain i currently have here? I just dont want to have to go around updating the address to enter my ftp space since that would create a lot of dead links. -
Even though the US got such low gas prices (compared to europe), if the cost of gas keeps rising for few more months it will encourage even more the invasion of another middle east country. Of course the administration will say this is to liberate their people and protect our freedom, but will the american people buy their lies again?

I never been able to solve one of them, and the farthest Ive gotten is like 4 faces of the same color. Moving any further just makes me mess up what i have gotten so far . Maybe I just lack the necesary 3d spatial awareness.

Anyone Played Notrium? Notrium: Survive on an Alien World
Casanova replied to ZeXLR8er's topic in Computer Gaming
A new version of notrium came out a few days ago. It fixes some bugs and adds a lot more options for those building a mod for it. So if you are looking for a easy to use engine to make your own top-down view game, this is a realyl good choise. You can download Notrium at the official website: http://www.instantkingdom.com/notrium/ -
Another thing that can cause you problems like this is the capitalization of the names you give to your files and folders. I know this has happened to my several times in the past.

If I remember right, marquees are mostly obsolete now because incompatibility issues and the lack of usefulness. They may look neat to beginer webmasters but its generaly in bad taste to use them nowadays.

There are two free and automated chat tools included. One is writen in PHP, I think, and the other one is done in java and you dont need to do any customization for it. There should be a button to enable them in your Cpanel near the bottom of the screen.

Firefox Security Update (firefox 1.0.2) Released 23-03-2005
Casanova replied to Rik?'s topic in Security issues & Exploits
Mozilla needs to start making update patchs availible instead of forcing the user to re-download the entire problem. The only thing i dont like about firefox is that two times updating firefox caused me to losse all my bookmarks, extensions and other settings. -

Norton Ghost Tutorial Good computing practice with Norton Ghost.
Casanova replied to brokebloke's topic in General Discussion
I have seen programs that do the same thing, so its just a matter of searching for one. Most likely there will be a way to purchase such program online, so search for HD cloning or ghost making. II would clone my drive if only I had a few extra GBs to spare... -
I just tested this and it does make the pages start loading significantly faster, asthough images and smiliar material still loads at the same speed.

By default XP does consume a lot more resourses than win98 or maybe win2000. But if properly tweaked, it can run fairly well on a 150mhz 128ram computer with an ancient video card. Win 98 still boots faster but its a royal pain in the *bottom* to set up a wireless connection with it...

Casanova replied to PHPtech's topic in Web Hosting Support
Didn't uni.cc stopped offering free domains about 2 months ago? I think cjb is still availible. -
Adding Downloads Can my website support downloads?
Casanova replied to Cypher's topic in Web Hosting Support
The bad thing about the link posted above is that the files cannot be embeded in your website so your visitors will need to follow and outside link to get them. Bigger files may also make them wait in line for a turn to download. -
Clinton Against Video Games at least violent ones
Casanova replied to Raptrex's topic in Computer Gaming
A $90 millon study on the effects of video games? What a massive waste of public funds. Violent video games are just the new boogie man to blame for the sorry emotional state of the youth in this nation. Maybe if parents worried less about making money and spent more time education their children, things like this wouldnt be an issue. -
Those surely are some amazing grapics, but unfortunatelly they will leave out a huge chunk of players out because of the high system requeriments needed.

T3 Internet Connections Ever heard of it?
Casanova replied to PHPtech's topic in Science and Technology
That T3 would be best suited fo a school distric that would then distribuite it to several high schools in the area. Or it would be suitable for someone looking to sell a dial-up service. -
100 Gigabytes Of Mp3s? ...in Your Pocket? wow
Casanova replied to Dodger's topic in Science and Technology
100gb of music? Thats just insane. Now if they added support for easily storing any kind of files in that thing, they would have an exelent portable hard-drive. Another great feature would be a quality adapter for connecting it to a surround sound system, or a high definition tv. -
1. People who write using terrible gramar or/and spelling while pretending to be all smart and creative, and then get angry when someone point out their errors. 2. Huge cars that take 1.5 parking spaces and block my view while I am driving. 3. Big, loud, obnoxious advertising. I specially hate the ones that flicker. What are they trying to do? Give me a seizure?

Changing A Dynamic Ip How to change your dynamic IP.
Casanova replied to yoofus's topic in General Discussion
Im not sure why you would want to get a new IP address, but at least in my case all I need to do is close the connection by right clicking the status button on the left corner of my screen, and then re-connecting after a few seconds. -
I say we send a space pod with a monkey and a camera into a black hole to see whats inside. The pod woul laso have a very though wire connected to it so it can transmit the signals and allow for easy retrieval.
