  4. Let's look at it this way. If one believes in a superior being (or whatever you choose to call it) and it there indeed is none; when they die no harm no foul, right? But if one doesn't believe in in a superior being and there is indeed one; when they die they may have a problem. Using this theorem, perhaps it is better to believe than not.

  5. Ridwan Sameer: 3

    Albus Dumbledore: 4

My vote goes to Albus. I really don't like the font you used or its placement, but will overlook it since I prefer the coloration over the kind of blah, same ol', same ol' on Ridwan's sig. I also prefer the render choice rather than the reuse of this month's render challenge. The text of Ridwan's is too cluttered to suit me and the bottom text line is lost in the shadows and border. With a little refining, both jobs are well done.

  6. I get the anistetic and then my Gastroenterologist scopes me.

Been there, done that. It wasn't pleasant. They didn't get me under the anesthetic deep enough and I was aware of the procedure. I kept trying to pull the darn scope out of my mouth. All I can remember was somebody shouting (or so it seemed) "Don't do that.!" The good news for me was that they found nothing wrong in my stomach. The bad news was that my pain was from gall stones  and I had to have my gallbladder removed. BTW I have been approached with a scope from both angles.... if you get my drift.

  7. Couldn't pass up the oportunity to have a say here. Let's go back all the way to 1492. Columbus thought he was in India and called the Native Americans "Indians". Really now folks, the Native Americans were here before any of the other races. The land was taken away from them, albeit by ill gain, purchases or spoils of war. We (mostly white Europeans) invaded their land and took it over. So if we need to give it back to its original owners, even the Mexicans are out.

  10. Thanks Saint Michael. I had already been to all those links and none of the suggestions worked. The repair tool is meant for iExplorer 5.0 and I am running 6.0. Before I reinstalled Windows 98, I decided to give it one more old college try. The last time I updated iE I kept a copy of the setup.exe file. So I logged on line, ran the iE 6.0 setup.exe. After selecting items to reinstall, wallah, my thumbnails came back. Also, iE is now showing all image files when off line. Something must have been corrupt in iE. I don't know exactly what went wrong, but everything is working just fine now. This proves again that iE is an integral part of the whole Windows system. When it isn't working right, Windows Explorer doesn't either. I hope this is the last time I have to fiddle with iExplorer. :( Here is hoping I can upgrade my puter very soon. $$$

  13. Panic time. I have lost all my image thumbnails in Windows Explorer except for wmfs and bmps. Also, when working off line, iExplorer isn't showing images except for gifs. Since I use these options all the time working on graphics for web sets I design, this presents a major problem for me. I am unable to view my work to see how the coding layout is working. I am running on Windows 98 (yes I realize it is outdated but that is all I have right now) and iExplorer 6.0. iExplorer is working fine on line. I have checked all my file associations and they are in order. I have tried updating my file associations using the regsvr32.exe/i shdocvw.dll command as suggested by Microsoft.com, but even tho it tells me the update is successful, nothing changes. I tried restoring a previous set of system files using the scanreg/restore command at the dos prompt, but that failed. This is scarey people. Does anybody have any clue what the problem might be?

  16. And I heard it more similar to Mermaid711's version, except that it was a Priest, with a little different slant on where the money came from and without the meeting outside the confessional.

One day, a woman was having an affair. Her son was watching from the cracks in the closet door. The boy's father came home a little early. The woman shoved the affairee in the closet, and did not notice the boy.

"It sure is dark in here." Whispered the boy.

    "Yep." replied the man.

"I'll give you $50.00 if you will stay quiet and not tell anybody."

The next day, the same thing occured, but this time the man gave the boy $100.00.

When the boys dad noticed that the boy had so much money, he asked "Where did you get all that money?"

The boy wouldn't tell him. The dad, suspicious the his son had stolen it, told him he needed to fess up by going to confession.

When the boy entered the confessional and closed the door on his side he remarked "It sure is dark in here."

The reply from the other side came, "Oh don't start that again."

This version keeps the identity of the man a little more mystery until the end which I think makes a better punch line.

BTW Mermaid711, Thanks for the memories.

  17. I would Like to make an honorable mention to Mich who is now tied for 4th place with most entries ever and out of 15 of those entries she became a 4 time SOTW winner so congratulations for that Mich.

 Well, golly gee SM, thanks for the mention. I hadn't realized the Christmas Theme SOTW had ever been declared as a win since it was actually a tie between me and MIGUE2k7. Congrats to MIGUE2k7 as well; you do very nice work.
