I really don't have all that time and furthermore that's why i love forums there are many other possible wise-enough guys to give u a hand without reinventing the weel as long as they already know the answers. more secure than firefox, symply more familiar, Opera was the first browser to have a ton of features all the other browsers just copied since, mouse gestures are great, sidebar is beautiffuly placed there-just in case- ,i especially like that the adressbar is below tabs, looks just like every tab has its own adressbar and feels better. I've hured that since 8.5 it has bittorrent but never seen it...Anyway better that firefox and up to expectations without installing extra software -even open-source extensions are a one thing to do more instead of doing nothing just playing with it on the internet.Not enough praising words from my side...

personally i don't think this scan and copy/paste method is going to be of much use to a certain individual because of that smth that is called soul in our terms but we do't really know what it is and without that a duplicated person would be just another being, perhaps assigned a new soul and it's experiences won't be yours so it's of no use for yourself. But there are some things that would benefit the world if it becomes real, like fabricating things easier ( a prototype is duplicated over and over replacing all those robots working and assembly lines in factories and reducing a factory to a transporter scale -on other planets this would make miracles as there is no need to build factories served by robots etc). So humans and animals are very difficult to handle but at a certain level of hardware evolution and safety of the scaning would be possible. Perhaps cloning plants/animals/humans on other planets to be populated would be one purpose of the technology. I think that teleportation (as being u that travel) of humans is possible indeed not by manipulating molecules and atoms of a certain structure but by finding ways of breaking space and creating worm-hole-like portals which seem more believable to me (it's mainly about energy power i guess). Anyway the perspective of being able to clone objects and even store data on all kind of complicated stuff and replicating it somewhere else is fascinating. And could be of some use in cloning organs....

i've recently hured that they've released seamonkey browser open-source and that it has a basic html composer snd a irc client included. As far as i can tell from the screenshots i've seen it is mozilla based and looks very like netscape to me. Has any of u tried /test it yet? If so, what is your opinion? And how does compare Netscape/Mozilla/Seamonkey/Firefox as long as all of them use mozilla's engine (i might be wrong on this one...)

thank you for the advice, i've already went through that site and even tried a few of the cms' but as i am tottaly unfamiliar to cms' i don't know what to look for and what to evaluate. At most i could evaluate them by the look and feel of the sites being developed around them. And thus i liked mambo/ joomla, but i just don't know if i'd do for me more than wordpress for example would.

10x, wondering if cms means for a normal site or portal what wordpress&co means for blogs...I mean if i want a blog i use some bloging system because it's optimised for writing/posts, if i want a portal i use a cms, if i want an image gallery use one. Does this work like yhis? -of course assuming i don't want to hard-code all that site, just a few adjustments...

Ye, i know that it is 'content management system' but my question would be:1) it must be installed on the server i upload my site to or it just generates the site i will upload myself to my host?2)what is the best open-source cms (in terms of friendly to non-technical guys, easy to change the design and as well easy to create my own theme and rearange the modules inside- news, pools, etc)for now that's it all.10x.

I've just tried the new Gaim and it doesn't do anything on my computer. I mean i installed it together with gtk then i started, entered an new yahoo account and didn't find any activate or whatever button to get it connected to yahoo servers. So my buddy list remained empty and nothing happened. After this I deleted it and said to wait until some bugs will get fixed.

I miss some features of yahoo messenger in Gaim but guess some of them are probably present but i didn't notice them(I remmember of a 'buzz' button lacking and the option of 'stealth' yahoo messenger has as well as a few others- pop-up ballons of new message/online contact etc.)Haven't tried 2.0 but very courious, next days would definitly try it.Thanks for the news, i saw earlier the post but only now realized it, haha.

I tried a fresh hdd install on one free partition and after all steps done when booting in kde yhe same error happend. I suspect it's a bug and it has to do with the users i introduce in one of the steps of the instalation...Otherwise i don't know what to say...why a fresh install could generate this error?But if this is a bug then many others should encounter it and i haven't heard anything so far of such an error on mepis forums.Any ideea?

my distro is mepis so it's debian deb and i can't login either as root or normal user because i get this error at the first module on splash and if i say ok to the error then it brings me back to login. Only if i could bypass kde and try everything from command line....

hy folks, i recently installed some kde-based linuxes and get this error quite frequently not onli at mepis- which i am running now. It appears when starting kde with the bootsplash showing the start of the few kernel components at the very first one called "Setting up interprocess communication". Behind it, in an alert window sais: "there was an error setting interprocess communication for kde.The message returned by the system was:Could not read network connection list./home/realthor/.DCOPserver_mepis_workbox_0Please check that the dcopserver program is running!"What does this mean? It gave me this error after some time when i was able to get into mepis and as i remmember it is not the only linux with kde that gives me this error after actually working on it. It doesn't seem to be vmware faulty because i had it installed on harddisk and the same error happened.Why could this happen with different versions of kde on different linuxes on hdd or virtual partitions??Please help.
