you do know that if you have a dynamic ip address than the simpler way how to change it is if you have a router, either restart your router or log on to the router page and disconnect from the internet which means all the computers on the network get disconnected but when its quickly reconnected they request new ips from the router. this comes in handy for things like bypassing download limits on rapidfail, circumventing the megavideo 72 minutes limt (which btw i don't know any other way around it). and other limts imposed on the internet which rely on your ip address.

well what i am on about is that a usb drive would need to be set above the internal drives otherwise the computer will try to boot from the one set as the first usually a usb option would be their. what i was on about was purely internal drives i don't know if the original poster was on about a internal or external drive but in windows sometimes a swapped hierarchy on where the drives are meant to be means that they can't boot properly. something i forget to say before is to check that your drives cables are a plugged in properly if they are put them in a different slot (if you have a different slot for them) becuase i ve had ports go wrong before and stop temporaly recognising drives which messed my boot order up.

Bad Luck [solved] Domain Registration
grim reaper1666 replied to imjjss's topic in Websites and Web Designing
that to me seems like one complicated way of doing things and it seems to me like they invented a costly way on how to pull more and more money out of people on things which would not nomrally cost alot of money. i suppose the good thing about the mycents for you is that you don't pay these charges because your account on this forum and on xisto is not in your country hence you don't have annoying fees to pay. i would see mycents then compared to the charges you have to go through as the cheaper option since you don't have pay the inflated fees to people and everything and you can tell the banks where they can stick their fees. i d say the money here is actualy in material goods which you could sell online and have the money placed into paypal. or you could easily use ads on your site (bannerads) and have them so that they pay money into a paypal account which would allow you to use that to pay for the domain. -
if you are really bothered about hosting files use 4shared that allows you to host big files and i believe doesn't have really small file size limitations. it will have some but you just host your files in part rars (which when the extract the first one automatically extract the others) which will give you easier hosting over your files. i suppose if you wanted to have a megaupload premium account you could in theory have adverts on your website on each of the links pages (banners not annonying surveys). then at first you use a free account and then eventually once you start earning enough from the ads you buy premium. also if you were earning enough you could easily buy a better website package on xisto which means they get that little bit more profit and you get more bandwidth and such.

Blog Within A Blog Is it possible?
grim reaper1666 replied to MrRichard's topic in General Discussion
wheras i use blogger which i like although i do not like their recent policy of wanting a sms to confirm you exist you could use a "internet based" phone for that. after if it has sending and recieving capabilties than volia. -
i have another issue which can cause ntldr to go missing, do you have multiple hard drives? if you do then check if the correct one (the one with the bootloader) is selected as the default drive in your bios. to get to the bios its usually by pressing f2 and check your drive configuartion different in different motherboards. i know this because it has happened to me before my drives decided that they were going to suddenly change which one is the main so i started to get the same error so i went and checked the bios and found my secondary drive had decided it didn't want to look at the back of the main drive anymore and jumped in front of my other drive. so don't think that the problem is automatically based in windows it could easily be in the bios. also if you was having a problem with it not being their a good trick is to put a old hard disk in and install an older os on that which wll create a boot manager which will allow you to load your nomral os thus nothing lost.

you could actually see if you can have it delieved from a country which sells it which is nearby your own country, for example if you are near germany than try going on the german ebay/amazon and order it from there it will cost a bit more postage but would still be cheaper than buying it from where it is rarer. i find converters useful for fitting pci e 16x cards into the smaller slots. don't forget the slowdown is simply because the 8x slots have half the lanes which to send data down hence the term 16x and 8x which is the number of lanes. i don't mean going on german only i just mean one which sells them at a good price which are also not too far away from you.

well i like to make games on macromedia flash mx which most computers already have that flash version pre installed, in theory html 5 could do the same stuff that flash can do if i did a html game it would most likely involve different buttons ontop of a drawing of a corridor with different routes to go on and selecting them acts like a maze. go the wrong way and you get stuck and have to double back, the reason why i said about flash is because these days alot of computers come with it already since until recently youtube used flash for their videos, and they use javascript for the api. which btw could also be used for either transmitting a virus or to confuse a computer by asking it to divide something by 0 because as we all know the computer would be constantly trying to find how many zeros fit into that number.

Bad Luck [solved] Domain Registration
grim reaper1666 replied to imjjss's topic in Websites and Web Designing
btw did you mean to put bad luck as yout topic title and not back luck. i think this is something to learn from as well if you want to accumlate that much money then you should research the non sale price first so that you don't get stopped by the end of the sale. btw don't take this as an ofence its just me giving you tips on how to make sure you still have enough mycents even if the sale ends. and as you are accumlating mycents you should also check Xisto - Web Hosting every so often to check that the domain is still on sale. another thing is that alot of domains also get charged on their length and how rare they are like 1 character names i believe cost alot more since there is only 24 letters available. -
another possilbity is if you make your game in flash then you can embed it directly onto your website and thus making it easier for getting online instead of trying to get a exe to work online. if you really wanted to use the exe the only way i see how to do is to have a download link for it so people download your game and then play it. i have never come across any methods on how to embed a exe online unless game maker can save your game as a flash file then you could or if you could use the graphiics from game maker once your game is created then put it into flash and learn some action script to get the game working.

zone alarm i used it for while now and it has never let me down on stopping and finding viruses even the free version is good at its job. it comes with some excellent features which are good for keeping your computer running at good speeds. i have used others but none of them can match zone alarm i even used the panda beta for windows 7 beta when it came out and that didn't come close to zone alarm. i like the ip address hiding thing as well means my isp has more trouble spying on me which is something i hate people doing is spying and helps to prevent people from getting direct control over my computer. -
First Invoice Overdue Notice [solved] Xisto billing service
grim reaper1666 replied to imjjss's topic in General Discussion
as long as you manage to build up enough mycents to pay the overdue you should be okay if you feel like you are not going to be able to pay then message support using the ticket things and ask them to cancel it, if you haven't paid any other bills on that order before then they will most likely refund you. -
well for that option what i did was enter it myself, although at the time i put Xisto.com as the domain with legendarygaming before it but sinc ethen i have got a cc domain which i prefer since its easy for people to get onto the site. if you are realy bothered about buying a domain you could have the cc temporaly until you buy a proper one.

Blog Within A Blog Is it possible?
grim reaper1666 replied to MrRichard's topic in General Discussion
well if you use a sub domain then you could most likely use the same domain but with games in place of the www which is how blog hosters work. so why not do it like that for yours simples. -
if it was your hard disk failing and it was out of warranty and if you have you windows instal disks then you could have just bought a new laptop hard disk drive off the internet which would have worked out cheaper than buying a new laptop or getting it fixed. the drives are usually easy to fix as well.

its not reccommended to do it and those slowdowns are becuase the 8x bus runs at a low speed to the 16x bus if i were you i would get a converter to put it in since it is dangerous to force a bigger card into a smaller slot. note you can put a 8x card in a 16x slot because the card is smaller but you need a converter to go the other way i believe if you search on google then you should find one. if you force it into the slot and damage the card don't blame me because i don't recommend to do it. heres a link to one just to prove that i m not making it up and it gives you your search terms. https://linitx.com/viewproduct.php?prodid=11465

well i prefer AMD processors because they may heat up more than a intel processor but you can get high speed cores at a cheaper price then intel. at my local computer store you can get a AMD hex core for £153 which is clocked at 2.8ghz per core. to me that seems alot better then forking out over £300 on intel processor. AMD understands that if you offer a good processor at a cheaper price then people are going to be more likely of buying it since they want a good processor but they don't want to give intel money which they would much rather use to buy a good graphics card along with the cpu. although in any computer cooling is crucial cpu cores run better at lower temperatures and at those lower tempertures is what you need for overclocking without it you are saying good bye computer.

How To Restore Show Desktop Icon.
grim reaper1666 replied to soleimanian's topic in Websites and Web Designing
another way to show desktop if the icon has gone missing is to right click on the taskbar and the option is in there. which also in my opninon means that you don't need to reinstall windows to get that back. i never even knew abour show desktop until i accidently right clicked the taskbar after my mouse got stuck under a piece of cardboard. just goes to show what accidents can teach you, i do like being able to put the show desktop icon back in as well because it is something which is useful for quickly getting to the desktop to open a program. thanks for the information it should prove useful in the future. -
Computer Starts Back Up after shutdown it turns back on
grim reaper1666 replied to grim reaper1666's topic in Software
well the ethernet cable should not be a problem because i do not have a lan cable plugged into my computer. i have my zonealarm extreme secruity scanning my computer daily and that does not find any problems. i m going to get a program i have called tune up ultilities to check for errors on my drives as well as defragmenting them to see if that is the cause of the problem. this program of mine also shows which programs are set to run at start up as well as scanning the entire computer for problems which it usually can fix. it also has a ultility to check the regestry for errors. so hopefully trying advice from previous posters should fix the problem i will report back once i have checked these things. -
where as personally i would be looking for a text to voice converter that can do dalek sounds, which will come in handy to replace some systems sounds as. or even a minion sound (from overlord and overlord 2) so that i can use those sounds for prank calling just simply call up the revelant people and have them say anything and not get caught out anyway back to topic. i do not personally believe that computer programs can fully create realistic voices i think that they can only get close to the real thing. although if you put it into audacity you might be able to tune up the sound to get it closer to the real thing(not the microsoft ones) as we all know the microsoft ones won't ever sound real as microsoft would be giving stuff away and thats not part of microsofts initive.

Space Trip Space tourism is getting nearby
grim reaper1666 replied to zenia's topic in Science and Technology
well to be honest if its only going into space to get to places faster hypersonic travel would be better for that since most forms of hypersonic travel will sort bounce along the atmosphere (like when you throw rocks into water and get them to skim the surface). which will allow getting to destinations just as fast most likely cheaper and it will also have powered landing unlike the glider system on these space planes. if they could fit ion drives to them they could use them to have the planes move through space (think of the ions being blasted out in a similar way to jet engines) its not as similar as jets engines but the concept of using exuast to power flight is. that way you could also have ion drives on the front of the plane and use them to slow it down as it get nearer the destination. please note the ion drives would not be as effective in the atmosphere as they are in space so still conventional rockets to get out of the atmosphere. -
hi my computer after i shut it down turns itself back on which is annoying and requires me to press the power button in when it starts back up to get it to stay off. i m posting this problem here incase anything serious could be causing it my computer specs are in the specs topic but just incase they are too deeply buried i will post them here aswell. before you ask i can't give a make and model of my computer as i built it myself. please do not call me crazy when you see the size of my page file because its like that since the hdd its on isn't the main drive, and because that one is huge. specs in the code box so that they don't annoy people trying to get to the bottom. thanks in advance. ------------------System Information------------------Time of this report: 11/19/2010, 17:35:57 Machine name: KNIGHT-SYSTEMS Operating System: Windows 7 your not going to find that out. if its a hard disk error than a normal format might not be deleting all of the data (virus related maybe) then try a low level format. but as previous posters have said describe you problem first then it will help to identify the problem because put it simply if formatting the hdd isn't working then it might not be the hdd. also if your laptop is within warranty just demand a replacement and you don't have to worry about data because well you've formatted the hdd but if you do take it back low level format it first because formatting deletes the address table so the data is still on the disk so data theives could find it and steal personal information like credit card numbers name whatever. by the way low level formatting tools are free toshiba i believe has one as well.
