You are welcome yordan, and we are not perfect One thing that i think is that the Google Page Creator service will dissapear in the near future, and will be replaced with the Google Sites service, why??? because when i use for example Gmail, it shows only a Sites link in the services menu located at the top of the page, i notice this issue also if i use another account.Best regards,

That's correct, there is no System32 service, and I guess that Darasen maybe refers to the issue that the files located under the system32 folder loads before the explorer.exe process. BTW, i remember that somewhere i view that there are two more start types, one is System and the other is ¿Boot?. Best regards,

I don't know if it is possible to do that with XP, but as far as i know, in Windows 2000 you can set the start type of any service using the Services Management Console. With the Services Management Console you can set the following start type of a service: Automatic: Specifies that the service starts automatically when you boot the system. Manual: Specifies that a user or a dependant service can initiate the service. Also, these services do not start automatically when you start the system. Disabled: Prevents the system, a user or a dependent service initiates the service. I remember that DOS had two files -autoexec.bat and config.sys- that you use to do this kind of things. In Windows 2000 these files exists too and are named autoexec.nt and config.nt, maybe you can use them to do what you want. One way to check out which services and in what order them are loaded is by booting your PC with the Enable Boot Record option. This option saves all the information in a text file called ntbtlog.txt located under your %windir% directory. Best regards,

Yeah, excellent news, and only to say that i just follow the instructions given and complete the registration process. Also, i did not have to wait 4-5 hours to get activated by the system, i just check my registered email account and i receive a minutes ago an email from the Credit System confirming that my Xisto - Support account was credited. Thanks again and best regards,

I agree, and as i said before a lot of viruses do exactly this thing blocking the task manager and the registry editor. The following registry code will unlock the Registry Editor globally for the machine and for the current user: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System] "DisableRegistryTools"=dword:00000000 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System] "DisableRegistryTools"=dword:00000000 To lock them, simply set the values to one (1). Best regards,

Well yordan please don't be mad with me ok? but i think that you are not using the last version of the Google Sites service because i just try it and with the version i do it, it is possible to delete any uploaded file of your site. The process i follow for this test was: Click on the Create a new page button, on the Create New Page form opened after that, i gave it a Page Name, select the Web Page option and where to put it within my site, then finally i press the Create Page button to create my new web page. After that it will open my newly created page in edit mode. In my page i first click on the content section of it and then i click on the Insert menu and select the Image option from it. On the Add an Image dialog opened i click the Browse button and select an image to upload, finally i press the Add Image button to upload it to my site and return to my page to continue edit it. At this point you will see the page with the just uploaded image selected with a menu below it with where you have the option to select it's alignment (Left, Center, Right), it's size (Small, Medium, Large, Original), it's wrapping mode (On, Off), a Remove link and a Close link. For this test i did not change any choice and i simply click outside the image to deselect it and continue editing the page. Finally i save the page by pressing the Save button to exit the Edit mode. I press the Edit Page button to enter again to Edit mode, i click over the image to select it, and finally on the menu opened below it i press the Remove link to delete it Finally i press the Save Page button to confirm the changes i made and quits Edit mode. Thats it I remember that this issue happens before with the Page Creator service but i also test it a minutes before and right now you can also delete your uploaded files from Page Creator too. To do this simply click on the Trash icon that appears at the right side of the file. Best regards,
-
I just test if it is possible to delete a page created with google sites and as magiccode9 said it can be done without any problem, so, yordan, please can you explain us your situation.best regards,

As far as i know the Google Sites service is also included with all versions of the Google Apps service, which i use for a while and i'm happy with it, but some months ago i tried this application -Google Sites- and only to say that i don't like it, so finally i disable it from my Google Apps. In my opinion while it is very easy to use on the other side it is very difficult to edit and customize your pages in the way you want, it does not support any type of server side language like php, you can't use databases like mysql with it, etc. BTW, Google offers another service for creating your web site called Google Page Creator, the difference is that while Google Sites is oriented to groups of people, families or companies Google Page Creator is oriented to individuals. Both services are very similar and includes almost the same functionalities. Best regards,

Thanks for this very useful reference list, i know many of them but i see two or three that i will visit right now. BTW, i take the time to remove the duplicates entries from the list and also to sort it alphabetically: https://codewalkers.com/ http://pear.php.net/ http://php.developpez.com/cours/ http://php.resourceindex.com/ http://phpdebutant.org/ https://www.wired.com/ http://www.01php.com/ http://www.codedemons.net/ http://www.depiction.net/tutorials/php/ https://www.devarticles.com/c/b/PHP/ http://www.developertutorials.com/category/coding/php/ http://www.developpez.com/ http://www.devshed.com/c/b/PHP/ http://www.freewebmasterhelp.com/tutorials/phpmysql/1 http://www.hotscripts.com/ http://www.hackingwithphp.com/ http://www.ibzi.net/ http://www.joe2torials.com/ http://code.openhub.net/ http://www.php-editors.com/ http://php.net/ http://www.phpbuilder.com/ https://www.phpclasses.org/ http://codes-sources.commentcamarche.net/php-5 http://www.phpdeveloper.org/ http://forum.phpfrance.com/ http://www.phpfreaks.com/ http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ http://www.phpworld.com/ http://www.planet-source-code.com/ https://openclassrooms.com/ https://www.thesitewizard.com/php/index.shtml http://www.tizag.com/phpT/ http://www.w3schools.com/php/ http://www.w3schools.com/php/default.aspBest regards,

If you have made many changes to a table the data file starts to get fragmented and unused space begins to appear, or if you have deleted some records of a table subsequent INSERT operations reuse this old record positions because the deleted records are mantained in a linked list, so, when this happens you should use the OPTIMIZE TABLE command to reclaim this unused space and to defragment the data file. The OPTIMIZE TABLE command repairs the table if it has deleted or split rows, sort the index pages if them are not sorted, and update the table's statistics if them are not up to date.According to the MySql documentation you need to run the OPTIMIZE TABLE command once a week or month only if it is necesary. My recomendation is to use and run the OPTIMIZE TABLE command every time is needed because it is better to have your tables up to date and in a healthy condition. So, my answer is yes, it is necessary to optimize your table.Best regards,

You can press the keys CONTROL+F5 if you want to refresh your browser's cache, this works with Internet Explorer 6.x and FireFox 3.x. Another thing to do is to verify the configuration of the temporary internet files of your internet explorer, if you want to get always an updated version of any page select every time the page is visited. I don't look at his code but i guess that he fix it up by setting to fixed the CSS background-attachment of the body selector, like in the following example: body { background-image: url(image-file); background-repeat: no-repeat; background-attachment: fixed; background-color: #color; color: #color;}BTW, i agree with wutske Best regards,
-
Yes i understand, and that problem happens because you are specifying for each cell a width of 100% which is incorrect, you use that kind of widths only when you use colspaned cells and also you specify the width for every cell in a row with CSS like you do in your post. Fix this problem by removing the style attribute of all UNIT and TRAIN cells and by replacing the width of all DESCRIPTION cells, as with the previous code the DESCRIPTION cells can be set with an inline style or adding another rule to your style sheet. CSS code: <style type="text/css">.boldtable2 { position:absolute; top:415px; left:250px; font-family:sans-serif; font-size:12pt; color:yellow; background-color:black;}.boldtable2 td, .boldtable2 th { font-size:8pt; width:67px; text-align:center; vertical-align:middle;}.boldtable2 td.description, .boldtable2 th.description { width:134px;}</style> PHP code: <?phpecho "<table class='boldtable2' border='1' align='center' BORDERCOLOR='orange' cellspacing='0'>\n";echo "<tr>\n<th>Unit</th><th style='width:134px' colspan='2'>Description</th><th>Train</th>\n</tr>\n";echo "<tr>\n<td>Swordmaster</td><td style='width:134px' colspan='2'>A gifted fighter, skilled with swords and heavily trained in militia tactics. Elite swordsmen are feared fighters. Costs 25 Food and 125 Iron to train.</td><td><input name='infantry' size='3'></td>\n</tr>\n";echo "<tr>\n<td>Sharpshooter</td><td style='width:134px' colspan='2'>The sharpshooter is one of the strongest archers around, capable of attacking from a long distance with great accurancy. Costs 25 Food and 150 Wood to train.</td><td><input name='Archer' size='3'></td>\n</tr>\n";echo "<tr>\n<th>Unit</th><th class='description' colspan='2'>Description</th><th>Train</th>\n</tr>\n";echo "<tr>\n<td>Swordmaster</td><td class='description' colspan='2'>A gifted fighter, skilled with swords and heavily trained in militia tactics. Elite swordsmen are feared fighters. Costs 25 Food and 125 Iron to train.</td><td><input name='infantry' size='3'></td>\n</tr>\n</table>";?>BTW, i only test this code with Firefox 3.0.2 and Internet Explorer 6, and you can view it working at Center In Table Cell With Span 2. Best regards,
-
Sorry for not testing it first with Internet Explorer, you are right, it does not work with Internet Explorer, to fix it simply add to the cell an inline style or add another rule to your style sheet, the final CSS code is: <style type="text/css">.boldtable1 { position:absolute; top:217px; left:250px; font-family:sans-serif; font-size:12pt; color:yellow; background-color:black;}.boldtable1 td, .boldtable1 th { font-size:8pt; width:162px; text-align:center; vertical-align:middle;}.boldtable1 td.cols4 { width:100%; }</style> The HTML code to use: <tr> <td colspan="4" class="cols4">colspan with a class</td></tr><tr> <td colspan="4" style="width:100%">colspan with inline style</td></tr>BTW, i only test this code with Firefox 3.0.2 and Internet Explorer 6, and you can view it working at Center In Table Cell With Span Best regards,
-
At first sight, you have an error in your CSS code for TD and TH, i suppose that you copy/paste your code from your HTML to CSS right??? Well, after a quickly test i made, i can say that it was the problem, simply change the "=" with an ":" to fix it, here is the corrected code: .boldtable1 td, .boldtable1 th{font-family:sans-serif;font-size:8pt;width:162px;color:yellow;background-color:black;text-align:center;vertical-align:middle;}BTW, if you want to use quotes in your PHP code simply escape it with a "\", like this: <?phpecho "<tr><td colspan=\"4\">..</td></tr>";?>Best regards,

Every time that i access the View Topics option of the Subscriptions section of the Control Panel's forum this page always starts up with two warnings: IPB WARNING [2] in_array() [function.in-array]: Wrong datatype for second argument (Line: 2711 of /sources/action_public/usercp.php) IPB WARNING [2] Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/Xisto/public_html/init.php:365) (Line: 561 of /sources/classes/class_display.php) The first warning depending on the start date that you choose to view creates from 1 line -Last 1 days- to 410 lines -the begining-, while the second one always shows this warnig 6 times at lines 561, 562, 563, 567, 569 and 570. Image Problems With Windows 2000
TavoxPeru replied to TavoxPeru's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Well, after some digging and googling finaly i found a solution to my Windows Explorer Thumbnails Preview problem. I never imagine that the solution to this problem was very very simple and to fix it i only need to edit the windows registry, search for some keys and add some values, that's it. Edit 1: Another solution i found to this problem was almost the same but instead of editing the registry directly it uses a VBScript file that access the Windows Registry via WScript.Shell. I use the first solution because it is the easiest method and also because the second one access and writes to the Windows Registry and it may be reported as a potentially malicious or a possible virus by your antivirus software. Either case, both solutions access the same registry keys and values. The solution consists in verify that the following registry entries exist: Registry key: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\file type\ShellEx\{BB2E617C-0920-11d1-9A0B-00C04FC2D6C1} Value: (Default)="{7376D660-C583-11d0-A3A5-00C04FD706EC}" for the following file types that you are trying to preview: .art .bmp .dib .gif .jfif .jpe .jpeg .jpg .png .tif .tiff .wmf To resolve this problem using the first solution you can do it manually by editing the Windows Registry directly for every file type listed above or like me you create a .REG file and simply merge it to the Windows Registry by double clicking it. The .REG file i create to do the job includes all of the file types listed above and is based on the 6. Preview Thumbnails Fix which do not includes the .png, .tif and .tiff file types and with the microsoft's Image Previews Not Displayed in Windows Explorer article. If you want to try the second solution visit Repair Image Preview and download the VBS file from there. Take in mind that serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly so back up it first before any thing. Edit 2: Attaching of the Preview.zip file which includes my .REG file using the first solution. Best regards, -
Another thing to take care when working with ajax is related to the encoding of your documents, the recommendation is to use and save your documents with the UTF-8 encoding always. As Quatrux, i did not use any javascript debuger i use the simple alert debuging until Firebug arrives. Best regards,

I agree with turbopowerdmaxsteel, because as you can see in the results i posted the .value always returns the correct input box's values. Another way to achieve the same result and get the values of the HTML input boxes is by simply use plain javascript, for example, in the following code: var t1 = document.f.t1.value;alert('The value of the First Input Box is equal to ' + t1 + '.');The variable t1 will hold the value of an input text box named t1 of a form named f, and after that the alert window will show it's value to the user. Visit my Get Value Test page to view it in action. Best regards,
