It didn't work with me, for more than 3 times it crashs and i lose my saved data, like profile data, how much does IPB cost?, isn't there any other free solution but SMF?, what about content managers?, is there anyother solution between them?, i used xoop before, it's good, but it doesn't support arabic fonts though SMF and phpBB do, really so confused with that

without any doubt it will be PHP and ofcourse you will need any database, i suggest MySQL, it's much easier to deal with and have more features, i think it's the best for now.by the way, i was planning to begin a game project too, i hope we can be in contact, may we make a good thing together, i have an idea for a game, in fact not only one, i have 3, just i'm so busy with a portfolio manager i'm coding, anyway, i made a google group for that purpose, to connect php programmers and persons who have ideas to create games and projects you can check it at : Google PHP/MySQL Projects Group and i hope we can do some good work together.

as qwijibow said, linux rocks, if i have the power to change/configure what ever i want, why do u think i will limit myself to windows and microsoft products?, why do we just sit and cry everytime we discover a bug, a hole or a virus??, on linux you will always have the power to solve it "depends on your knowaldge", you aren't in need to wait for a technican to solve it for you, you don't need to wait till Bob Smith to get back to his work to solve it for you.And by the way, who said Ubuntu makes it hard for people to configure things??, i'm an ubuntu user, i use linux since nearly a year, every thing is configurable, really nothing hard, even if you find something to be hard, just post it to ubuntu official forums and you will get an answer in maximum of 3 hours. I think symantec tells us by this warning that they are into making linux viruses ooops i meant anti-virus

i think, easily you change the active bootable disk to your linux root disk, then you reinstall your windows and it will take the booting of linux, always i do that, in steps:1- log to your linux system cd.2- from partationing step choose to change your bootable flag to your root partation on linux.3- reboot and reinstall windows.4- welcome it works

i don't know what is happening right now to gmail, but now the invitaions doesn't increase anymore, now since you give a person an invitation consider you lost it, i heared that this because they are useless and now you can join gmail without invitation but i tried to find that registeration page they are talking about without any success. i think they began to stop invitation system to slow up thier progress till they finish it, how many months till now it's going on while it's still trial and in beta version?? i think they are into releasing it in final shape so soon, i heared they are working on the hardware cause they are planning to make it unlimited inbox storage, this will beat all the others. i think they should change it's logo and type beside it : "Gmail, here lays the body of Bill Gates"

i think the best distro for a laptop is ubuntu or kubuntu, it supports laptops and some big amount of drivers, even you can boot thier cd's from pci-cd-rom "this feature you will not find in any other distro, i tried a lot of them" also it has a good performance on battery, it stands for a long time on my laptop at least 1.5 hours and that's so much "windows XP doesn't run more than 25 minutes" and my battery is so old one .and i has one comment about linux on a laptop is no no no : "I HAD NEVER TRIED LINUX ON A DESKTOP" Your friend must read a lot about computing, Linux, Hardware, Software and before all of that about kernels and BIOS

I think this is not available as you haven't a sms center, you need "as i think" to contact a company which is working in that field in order to get a sms center but take care, it's not free, i tried this step 4 years ago and i discovered that it will cost me nearly 1500$ to begin then i need 100 - 500$ monthly to keep it going on, finally i resigned, i don't know how much does it cost now even, anyway then you will need to make a bridge link to that sms center as Than said. after you finish all of these you will need to code/get/buy a JSP or any other script to connect to that server, i saw before a script to do that on one of these java script sites : JavaFile Scripts site Java Script Kit Java Scripts Net I hope anyone can give you more information on that, but you will need to contact a Mobile phone services company or a sms services one to know how much will it cost you at first.

I would like to get different responses so i could make a good point of view before moving into installing any of them, i tried phpbb2 and it is really bad, i think its support for arabic language is really so bad, also it hasn't a good control panel while you use it in arabic, don't know if it's like that in other languages or not but never tried it in english, i always used to use xoop but in english forums not in arabic forums.i think i will give SM a try, i never tried it before so i think it deserve a try, i hope everything will be ok, if it's like what you said then the matter will be the space, i will check to see how much space does it need. thanks for helping.

i think the most greatest thread in linux viruses for now is to remove data or format /home or any other file that is permitted to be used by ordinary users not the root or else to open ports for incoming connections so hackers could get into your machine, but as i said, that's for now, i think the problem will be in the future when they could make a virus that can log off from ordinary user and then login again as a root, delete all your files, open ports for hackers, steal your pc and run away i don't like to save any important files on my pc, or else why did they invent backup systems, cds, dvds, zip disks or even flash memories?

Symantec just launched a warning for detection of linux virus, this is the summary of it : To me i think it's not that thread as we can see in its effects, if you have a very weak firewall it will stand against it, also you can notice it from the number of infections though symantec try to say it's a big danger, i think they want to get more sales

I'm making a financial site based on PHP/MySQL, there are two sections in that site, first one which is a free section have news, stocks calculator and chat. second section which is paid section has the same fetures plus a portfolio manager for each member, financial analysis also it has a game which is available to members only too. The Problem i face at the moment is i need to code a php/mysql authentication system so only paid members can access the pages which is in the second section, i tried to code it but never succeded, any help is so welcomed

That's exactlly what i need, it's a good way to prevent visitors from seeing the source and seeing the pages addresses in the address bar. and about the other issue, the site will be completely PHP coded so no problem they could bookmark a main page or not, it will be all dynamic pages Thanks so much, i think it's the best solution that suits me

didn't notice where is the question yet, please make it clear so we may help you in that matter, but if you need some kind of databases stuff that makes you able to do that, i think that MySQL is so good with PHPMyAdmin installed, it gives you the power to add/edit/delete entires, tables and even databases, hope this helpful for you, otherwise make it more clear to us :oP.S: Both of them are free/opensource software, but pay attention to MySQL License.
