Do You Run A Forum-website Forum-Website Poll
Andrew1405241517 replied to Harry1984a's topic in Websites and Web Designing
A few years ago I bought a domain and a bunch of space and started a news site / discussion forum. It got pretty big after about six months but then started to die. I was going to school and working so I didn't really have enough time to manage it properly. I used Woltlab Burning Board which I was very satisfied with, and I had a few good people to make me logo's and such for the site.... Now I help manage somebody else's forum. I don't have the funds/time to do a site myself but it was fun back in the day. -
thanks wutske for the link and soleimanian for the IE tips. I still prefer Avant Browser over Firefox

Reformatted System, Now Audio Drivers Are Not Found!
Andrew1405241517 replied to Synn's topic in Software
If I were you I'd find the model of your tower or motherboard on the manufactuare's website and download the drivers and software for the chipset.. I've had the same problem and that always solved it for me.http://www.motherboards.org/ I think it is.. anyways, it may be useful. -
Turn Your Gaming Console Into A Media Center Pc
Andrew1405241517 replied to snutz411's topic in Software
That's really cool. I've never been a fan of XBOX but I'd love to have a tricked-out PS2 system. I've heard of people modifying their consoles to be like computers, or just unique.. -
I recently bought a Document Camera because I got it at a cheap price. It is a LUMENS DC80A camera. I don't have any cables, but on the back of the camera there are a VGA IN and VGA OUT connection. I need instructions on wiring it to my PC and what kind of cables, etc. I need. Thanks in Advance to anybody who can help me here. Below is a picture of the camera I have.

Firewalls Anti-virus, Anti-Spyvware and firewalls
Andrew1405241517 replied to jonassen-tjader's topic in Software
I use McAfee Firewall and Anti-Virus, because it comes with my Comcast Internet. I have never had a problem when using it, and it protects me from alot. Whenever I don't use it my PC ends up getting cluttered with bull#hit. -

I've had this problem and figured it was a hardware problem. I ended up just using a different PC. -
Itunes Music Store Billion Songs Countdown
Andrew1405241517 replied to jedipi's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I wish I had the stupidity to let me buy music downloads.. I'd rather get MP3's off limewire, or better yet, just go to best buy and get the CD, then put it on my iPod through my PC... But I'm sure iTunes is making tons of cash with that promotion. -
That site looks very cool. That's the first time I've seen anything like that. I probably would have no use for it but I bet it's nice.

Screenshots Of Microsoft Office 12
Andrew1405241517 replied to jedipi's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Wow, M$ Office 12 looks very nice. Much better than 2003.. But it also looks more complicating in which I mean there's probably many new features. -
Paper Mario was fun because it was more like the classic mario games. I'd buy another mario game like that. I was very disappointed with Sunshine, I thought it was pretty gay.

Your Prediction For The "next iPod" What comes next?
Andrew1405241517 replied to Vicious_AD's topic in Science and Technology
I am guessing they will come out with an iPod with satellite capabilities to offer a month to month service where you can download music and video directly to the device, and be radio capable. It'll probably still have the same type of look though, as the other iPods. -
Gmail, Yahoo! Mail, Hotmail Whos winning the battle?
Andrew1405241517 replied to jcguy's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I prefer GMail over all. It seems to be the fastest in load time, and it's pretty easy to navigate through it. I have e-mail addresses with MSN and Yahoo and AIM but I mainly use those for the messenger. -
A friend told me about a search engine that brings back Google results, however the owners of the Engine have the site set up to give random prizes away depending on what "turn" you are to search. They pick a bunch of random winning times, and if you search at the right time, you win a gift certificate, or other prize. The theory is, that if you DO happen to hit your search on one of these "winning times", instead of being redirected to your search results, you are notified that you have won, and they send you your gift somehow... I have never won on this thing and I use it a few times a week, but it notifies you in the corner of the people who have won. Once again, let me say that I have yet to hit a winning time, so I can't verify that this website is legit, but it's a good clean search engine and gives you results equal to google.com If anybody wants to spend some time using this engine, use the link below and if anybody does win, at least we'll know this just isn't some scheme to attract hits. Please post your feedback if you are familiar with Blingo.com because I'm curious about it. Seems too good to be true, and I don't see who pays for the stuff they are giving away. Blingo Search Engine Notice from miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG: Referral link removed. Since you're new - here are the rules - when you post a referral link on Xisto you HAVE TO PROVIDE a direct link and your referral link - and mention beside each, which one is which. Also you've to put a footnote saying that it would benefit you in such and such way if other's sign up using your referral. That way others have a clear choice on which way they want to follow. That's the policy on our forums.

I always make sure my Firewall is configured the best it can be, and my anti-virus software is current.. other than that I don't really worry much. If I put my personal information on the internet, like if I buy something and use my debit card, I reboot my PC and use a different installation of Windows XP which is on a different hard drive in my PC. I have no programs installed on this windows installation, it's strictly for security. I have only McAfee Security Suite and the Windows Updates. Then when I'm finished, I reboot with my normal installation which has all my appz on the drive. I don't know for sure that this is more secure, but I feel alot better when I have a new clean windows running.

I joined the site last night, and wanted to properly introduce myself here. I think this is a very nice forum, and there seems to be alot of nice people here. So HELLO everyone, it's nice to be here. Hope to talk to alot more of members here, so far I've chatted with a couple.

Once they find a possible cure, I think they would have to do alot more before telling the public about it. There'd probably be a large time lapse between the actual discovery and the announcement of it. And then what if it gets people's hopes up, but turns out to cause problems, or is unreliable. Still, if there is a cure, more people are likely to be careless when having sex, thus, spreading the virus quicker. I had a friend whose father had HIV, and I spent alot of time at his house. After I got to know them well, I understood what they have to go through knowing their father isn't going to live his full life, however he is able to control it with expensive medicines, it's no cure. I pray that everything turns out okay for their family, and I pray that people get checked just for the hell of it, so they don't ruin someone elses life and family just because it wasn't cool to wear a rubber, or get checked.I know for a fact before I get into a serious relationship, both me and my partner get checked before having unprotected sex. We're in the millenium now and **** isn't the way god intended it, and I believe a cure will be found, and soon, but I pray that it's soon enough to help the many innocents that currently have AIDS because of some stupid mistake. Nobody should have to go through that, but they made the mistake of being careless, or trusting... I can't even talk about this anymore without worrying about people I know.

A Beginners' Tutorial For Forum Signatures
Andrew1405241517 replied to Kid Saiyan's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
I appreciate the help, your directions are nicely done and easy to understand. I plan to follow your tutorial later today and see what I come up with. In the past I've always gotton somebody to create my sig's which is hard because they don't know exactly how I want it to look. I'm scared of photoshop, but I'll try to whip something up and see if you're help gets me anywhere. -
If you are just starting your first forum, I recommend using PHPBB.. It's very nice looking, still not VBulletin quality, but personally I prefer posting on PHPBB sites over sites that use VB.But, if you want to get a little more creative, and have more knowledge in PHP, give Burning Board a shot. They have a pay version as well as a Lite (free) version. I've used the Lite version, and it's more like VBulletin in my opinion. I was able to customize my board to look very nice. Much nicer than I could have done with PHPBB. The pages load fast and there is a more in-depth admin panel. If you got the cash, get the pay version. There is an extensive amount of add-in's you get access to which will make your site even better. The Lite version has Mod's too, but I assume the pay version get's more support.Burning Board: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/:'>http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ them both, mess with the admin panel, and go from there is what I recommend. (btw, personally I wouldn't advise you to use Invisionboard, it's nice but you can achieve a more professional look with WBB or PHPBB, and I think the page loadtime is faster) I hope this information helps you.Ho

At first I had no idea how the credit system was supposed to work but having read this I'm pretty sure I understand how it works, and what I have to do to keep my account going. This is the first time I've seen this system in use, and I agree it's a good idea. If I have any more question's I'll be sure to ask. Until then, I guess I'll just hang around the forums as much as I can and stay active, helping out where I can.
