  1. Wow so linux isn't as "light" as it seems. I guess I'll just have to stay with Windows.
  2. ALright, here are the specifications for the computer:Gateway Astro PCPentium II500 Mhz128mb RAM4GB Hard DriveUSB 1.1 ports
  3. Sounds like a pretty good ingenious way of solving problems. I don't know if that would work with other ipods.
  4. Ok nevermind, it's not back on for some reason. I just waited. The client is not responding so I don't know if he did something.
  5. Oh so maybe my client is hosting his website on his local machine and have it turned off. Could that be a possible problem?
  6. I have an old computer that I mainly use for browsing and im. It runs pretty slow on Win2K and I've heard that it's good to use linux OS for slow computers. Would I be able to use softwares such as Firefox, AIM, and Adobe programs under linux?
  7. Thanks for helping me out with that. I'll go tell my client about it. I don't really know if he did anything with the domain or not. But my question is, would the file transfer have caused it or not? What I only did was add a directory to the root folder called temp_site I also dropped the database the site was currently using and created it again inserting tables I have from my local database.
  8. I'm currently using a NetGear connection. It's fine but it's not on wireless so I don't know how it runs on wireless. My router is located at the end of the room and not the center but it doesn't matter because no one really uses it around the house. So is NetGear really that bad for wireless?
  9. Yesterday I uploaded all the source files needed for the domain: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ but when I checked it this morning it won't load up. Was this my doing or is the hosting company at fault? I'm really upset that every time I upload things, things go wrong. Can someone please check out the website and tell me if it loads or not. And if it doesn't load please post the solution I need in order to fix the problem. I urgently need this so I thank those who help me out.
  10. There are various ways of going about this. One is to change "post" to "get" if you would like to place the variables next to the url. However, if you want to keep it hidden, use post and to retrieve the variables value from the next page you would have to use: <? $_POST[variablename] ?>Of course you replace "variablename" with your variable.
  11. Thanks for the help. But we found out that it was because of the settings of the domain. The main domain's path had to be rerouted to the root folder.
  12. No matter. Thanks a lot!
  13. Hi, can someone post a source code that will display the last six months. ie: This month is January - display December, November, October, September, August, JulyI really need this urgently. Thx.
  14. HAAA!! The answer to my prayers! Thank you for joining the group. I am really in need of help right now with my client's OSCommerce. Here are the following problems we found: 1. Clicking on "add to cart" does not add the product to the cart 2. Won't let any users log in to their account 3. Won't let any customer create an account 4. Client can't add a new product to his website It was working today for a few hours but stopped 4 hours ago. He's currently hosted at GoDaddy you can troubleshoot it at http://irepairsquad.com/ Here's another thread i made: http://forums.xisto.com/topic/92096-topic/?findpost=1064362270 I realized that this thread was made in 2005. I'm hoping you have stayed active up till now and are able to help on this problem.
  15. I don't know where this topic is appropriate in so please move it if it's innapropriate for this place as this involves PHP and OSCommerce Hi, I got an error stating the following: Warning: reset(): Passed variable is not an array or object in /home/content/j/w/s/jws8118/html/catalog/admin/includes/classes/object_info.php on line 17 Warning: Variable passed to each() is not an array or object in /home/content/j/w/s/jws8118/html/catalog/admin/includes/classes/object_info.php on line 18 Here's the source code: <?php/* $Id: object_info.php,v 1.6 2003/06/20 16:23:08 hpdl Exp $ osCommerce, Open Source E-Commerce Solutions http://http://www.oscommerce.com/ Copyright (c) 2003 osCommerce Released under the GNU General Public License*/ class objectInfo {// class constructor function objectInfo($object_array) { reset($object_array); while (list($key, $value) = each($object_array)) { $this->$key = tep_db_prepare_input($value); } } }?> More problems are that my client can't add products to his cart. He also cannot upload any new products to the categories. I'm asking the PHP programmers who have experience with OS Commerce and also those who know this to please help me with this problem. My client needs this problem fixed as soon as possible. I need solutions ASAP. Thank you.
  16. By 11p Eastern Time, Saddam Hussein has been executed by hanging. This execution was ruled by the government of Iraq. No video was shown on live television but just reports of it. However, reporters say there are videos and pictures taken before, during and after the execution. It was breaking news in CNN at Larry King Live. Obviously these videos taken at the execution of Saddam Hussein will be published in most video blogs. To me it's a clip that's worth checking out. I'm in favor for the hanging because of all the killing and genocide he's done, he deserved it. What I fear though is the evil plots of those who are against it and what they have in mind to avenge his death. I hope that the rebels die down so that Iraq will finally have a better society but who knows if that may even happen. What are your thoughts in this?
  17. Maybe Japan is smart enough not to produce those diamond covered phones that are just made for show. They're more concerned with the technology and not the "bling". I mean, does that 1.3 mil phone have GPS? does it have MP3 capability? NO because all it's got are diamonds and the technology to simply communicate. period. Plus, it's an ugly phone. I'd say to leave the diamonds to jewelry departments. However, it's fine to fuse the two but it shouldn't be to the extreme.
  18. IMEEM! It's a popular website I've recently just discovered! It's got thousands of members and thousands more songs, videos, pictures, blogs and everything else you could find. I signed up for the site a few days ago and I like it a lot. It's up to date with the most recent songs combined with songs from the past years. It's just like MySpace but it's a lighter version of it. It uses AJAX scripting so the song you would currently be playing will not be disturbed when adding comments, adding it to your playlist or favorites. It's very user-friendly and it's got a catchy name too. Have I told you it also has hundreds playlists? Plus you can add songs that are uploaded by people to your own playlist without the need of downloading them to your computer and back to IMEEM! I recommend this site to those who love music, videos, blogs, and pictures. It's a great site to use at either work, school or just chilling at the comfort of your home. So why not give it a chance and check it out? PS: Sorry if this seems like an ad but it really isn't, it's just something I wanted to say and share with the rest of the community. Here's the link by the way: https://myspace.com/browser
  19. I find Firefox better because of its privacy settings and its stability. Although I haven't tried the new version of Internet Explorer, I find Firefox easy to use and user-friendly. Internet Explorer is too much of hard disk consumer unlike Firefox and that's why I moved.
  20. To those who haven't found this website yet, I got some links to pretty helpful websites that will guide you to developing really interactive webpages without using any javascript. It's pure CSS and really impressive. The links are: http://www.westciv.com/style_master/academy/css_tutorial/ AND http://www.cssplay.co.uk/ You should read the Complete Guide to CSS first before moving on to the css playground.

  22. Thanks a lot for the help. I'll go and try that now.

  24. Oh so would the syntax be like:$result = mysql_query($query);$name = mysql_fetch_row($result[0]);Would this syntax be right?
  25. Okay so I got this sample link (not working): http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Now suppose I have a PHP file that would use MySql in order to get all values in the row where id 654 is found. Here's a sample DB: Table: demnyc ______________________________________ | id | Name | Age | Email | *----------------------------------------------------* | 1 | Albert | 17 | no email | *----------------------------------------------------* | 2 | YaPow | 888 | no email | |______________________________________| The result should be "Albert" Here's a portion of the current code to display the desired value: $query = "SELECT Name FROM demnyc WHERE id=1";$result = mysql_query($query);print "$result"; The current result is: Resource id # 4 Can someone tell me please what I'm missing?
