New Biological Robots Build Themselves
ArmTheMob replied to jedipi's topic in Science and Technology
I mean real AI has the ability to learn and do things that weren't originally programmed. In other words, individual thought. In a way I guess. Use code they create for themselves rather than what was created for them. -

This isn't real AI because these things can't learn or make their own thoughts. The things are programmed to check if there are mistakes then reform if there are. -
Do Aliens Really Exist? Hot Debate! do they really exist?
ArmTheMob replied to tcave's topic in Science and Technology
To think we are the only ones out here seems almost like arrogance. With so much out there why would anyone think were the only ones? I'm not saying UFOs are flying around or anything but there must be some kind of life out there. Maybe even a life form that is unimaginable to us. Something that doesn't even need water to survive. Who knows what's out there?Just to point out, UFOs are complete nonsense. The idea of it seems so out there. Why would aliens with technology that great use some craft to do surveillance? Even we have satellites. The stories of abductions are also out there. With technology that great you probably wouldn’t even know you were abducted if you were. Even I could use some sort of chemical to knock someone out in their sleep and abduct them without them knowing it.That's my take on everything. -
The Skycar The first fully functional flying car
ArmTheMob replied to ASR1405241491's topic in Science and Technology
I saw this on the history channel or discovery channel but I forget. This thing is pure nonsense and that makes it sound better than it is. It is completely fuel/cost ineffective probably because of the fact that it flys. Because of the safety it is completely out of the question. That thing is a flying coffin. Anything happens your dead. And something will happen. Imagine millions of people were flying around or something as simple as your car breaking down. I think the answer isn’t to get people moving faster or higher. I think a better way to reduce traffic is utilizing technology we already have. I’m sure most people with desk jobs could be doing those jobs at home. Most people at the office are on a computer anyway for Christ sake. -
Evolution Or God... How were we created?
ArmTheMob replied to Nemisis's topic in Science and Technology
This isn't a discussion and you can't have it both ways because that isn't the discussion. You can't say it's a mixture of both because the question isn't that. The question is how we were created. Did we come from god or did we get created from evolution. The notion that Adam was once part of a ribcage and eve was made of dirt is pure nonsense to me. And don't you try to explain it in scientific terms because that is how the bible said it happened. The bible is the only supposed proof of god so to deny its truth denies the existence of god. I posted something in the big bang thread and this theory will make a lot of sense to most of you. Here it is. Personally that combined with evolution seems A LOT more plausible than ribcage dirt theories. Half of it is based on actual calculations made by Steven Hawkings. Another thing I want to point out to people who believe in god is the fact that he is the biggest mass murderer in history. He has the power to do anything he wants but he chooses to kill innocent people. What happened to his own commandments? If you don't believe me think about the great flood. Think of how many innocent people were killed. How many babies and children included. He had the power to only kill the evil but chose to kill everyone. If you can't accept that maybe you don't believe in god because the bible is the only supposed proof of him. To deny the truth of the bible denies the existence of god. Well that's my honest view on everything. Kind of harsh toward religion but that's what I think and Iâm not going to beat around the bush or lie. -
Just to clear things up, these days people don't get the death penalty unless they really are guilty. Most juries don't give the death penalty if there is any possibility of them being innocent. Usually the death penalty is for people proven beyond guilty by forensics. So I don't think you have to worry about innocent people getting the death penalty anymore.

The Big Bang: Did It Really Happen?
ArmTheMob replied to webdesignunlimited's topic in Science and Technology
I've heard the same theory before but that's nonsense. It completely goes against the bible and you are twisting it completely out of context. You can't have it both ways. Either you believe in god and the way the bible says the universe was created or you don't believe in god and don't buy the bibles explanation on how the universe was created. The bible is the only supposed proof of god so to deny its truth denies the existence of god. I've heard another explanation. According to Steven Hawkings calculations, when suns explode they create black holes because of the immense gravity the sun has. The whole universe will slowly turn into a bunch of black holes eating up everything. Slowly they will all combine into one huge black hole. The black hole will slowly pull everything into it. It will have so much gravity nothing will be out of reach. Then the theories start again. Some people think this is the cycle of the universe. After the whole universe gets pulled in the black hole will explode or implode creating the big bang and everything will start over again. Makes sense huh? -
With you all the way. It's unimaginable that people could even do that. There is no excuse for stuff like that and people who do things like that deserve much worse than the death penalty.

I don't think that business will get you anywhere these days. Prices on some websites are so outrageous you won't be able to compete. I think it's a bad idea unless you have something up your sleeve.Just look at this custom computer site.http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ there are people on eBay selling things for unheard of prices. I figure they are selling stolen stuff because there is no way they could sell that stuff for that cheap without losing money. But I’m not trying to discourage you. Just think things through. I don’t want you to go out there and waste your time and money.
-
Ok, this thing may be compact but come on... Video on that?... I suppose it might be good for concealing and portability but it costs so much and video on that? I might consider it if I was still in high school. I would rather go all the way and get a cheap notebook these days. No one minds a notebook in a college classroom.

I chose Winamp because the skins and visualizations look better to me. When you think about it, all of em play music as well as the next. So I guess the only difference is how it looks yea?
-
Nah, if it was just dust it wouldn't be this bad. I have a feeling the fan got worn out or something so it's under operating. But I suppose it could be dust but nah… It would have to be caked on so thick. That wouldn’t happen unless you lived in dustville.

Yep yep. No one hostile here. You know what really sucks though? Sometimes you can just be telling people what you honestly think and they will get mad at you. Jeez I can’t believe how many people believe in religion though. I feel kind of embarrassed for them. To me it looks like they are all making fools of themselves. It’s like a little kids thing you know? Like Santa Claus for grown ups. I can’t imagine what they are thinking. I just can’t grasp the concept. I didn’t even believe in Santa Claus as a kid so you can imagine how religion looks to me. I’ve also never had religion in my life and I’m taking a religion class for college right now. The things I’m learning blow my mind. You should hear about some of the religious practices. Some are barbaric and completely disrespectful to life and human life. I’m also learning just how cult like mainstream religions are. There is some good in it but most of everything is cult or plain stupid. I had no idea.It leads to problems you know… When people lose their grasp on reality… -
I remember their old advertisement for the paint was the "Lamborghini Paintjob" hahaha. Check out their laptops, they have $210 decals lol. I have no idea how that enhances gaming but yeah... On another note... http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Lol........

Not always... I've seen some benchmarks and it seems like the processors can't be categorized as better for gaming. In the benchmarks I saw the Pentium processor was beating the AMD in half the tests. I forget what Pentium it was and which AMD X2 it was but the AMD came out costing way more and it was only a little better. They weren’t even using the best DDR2 ram for the Pentium processor either. If the Pentium processor was using 800MHZ instead of 533MHZ who knows how the results would have turned out. My point is that you can't choose one in general...

OMG HAHAHAHHA. At http://www.voodoopc.com/ check out the "Digital Creation" under the desktop "Omen" HAHHA. You can configure that thing up to $35,000 ahahhahah. You can get dual dual core processors hahahahaa. Dual video cards and quad 15,000 rpm hard drives ahahhaah. They even have a 46 inch 8ms gaming LCD hahaha. There is even an option for a $510 paint job ahahhaha. So uncalled for... Check it out lol.
-
But what if you want a different video card, memory, or hard drive? Things like that can make a difference in the performance. When you change parts like that the benchmarks could flip over into the others favor. Unless you want to clone the benchmark computer but come on... Who would want to do that? They usually use some mediocre computer for most of the tests. You really can't tell which will be best for you from their tests. You need to choose the best one for your configuration and not theirs... But I doubt any of us are experts so you should just try to configure you computer as best you can. That's what I mean, get it?

Don't Overclock Your Notebook! instead, down-volt it
ArmTheMob replied to irwan6179's topic in Hardware Workshop
My friend has a program that came with his computer to run at lower power consumption. He was always fiddling with some icon in his system tray to save power. I'm not exactly sure what it was configuring but underclocking your processor to save power is ridiculous. I'm guessing but turning down the brightness of your screen will probably save you more power. -

I agree with your science thing but I don't think I'm with you on spirituality. I think that doesn't have anything to do with religion. I think it has to do with human nature. I think people are good at heart and evil ones are just the people who got lost somewhere along the way. -
Looks good to me. Lot better than mines.

God's Role In Natural Disasters Gods warning or Nature at work?
ArmTheMob replied to hashbang's topic in General Discussion
I'll add my own two cents. All the nautral disasters can be explained without god and everyone knows it... Come on... I can't believe people are still bringing this up in this day and age. I could have imagined ancient people doing this but to bring this up now? That just boggles my mind. Come on... That's just nonsense. -

ArmTheMob replied to MajesticTreeFrog's topic in General Discussion
Eeeshhh... Too much reading but I believe in what can be explained and what can be backed up. Things that make sense. Things that have concrete evidence. To me, those are the only things that are really true. In other words I believe all religion is total nonsense and I have no idea how any sane person could accept something like that. We are so used to things like god but when you really stop and think about it, it’s just madness. How can so many people believe in that stuff? Not just a few but the most of the world. ErrrRRRRrrrrRRRRR… IT BLOWS MY MIND OMG!!! HOW CAN PEOPLE BELIEVE IN THAT STUFF AYEEEEEEE!!! IT’S JUST MADNESS, I CAN’T STAND IT!!!! HHHOOOWWW??? WWWHHHYYY??? ARRRRRRRR!!!I’m done… -
Errrr... You change one thing on the computer and all the benchmarks turn in the others favor... Just stick with your favorite and try to configure the PC as best as you can.

Hah you're right. I dunno what I was thinking. 32 bit consoles, what is that? A Playstation 1? I was thinking of the processors the Xbox 360 was going to use and I got lost somewhere along the way... Someone told me they were going to be using Pentium 4s but they are using some IBM processor so now I'm lost again. But my point was I'm wondering what will happen to consoles after computers change to 64 bit. It will probably bring out a whole new generation of PC games. These things do make good media centers like someone said. That's another good thing except that most of what I do is with data on my hard drive... Don't you have to pay extra for Xbox Live? Errrr... If I did get a console I think it might be the Nintendo one. I didn't think about it but it sounds kind of good. Sometimes I like to break out the old Super Nintendo games and that thing has complete backwards compatibility right? After that I guess I'll decide on what games are released for other systems. All I know is that if I'm getting one itâs gonna be modded... Guess youâre right and we will have to wait. But from the game play Iâve seen and the specs Iâve read about Iâm extremely skeptical. http://www.ign.com/articles/2004/03/25/gdc-2004-unreal-engine-30-revealed That article came out in March 2004... Take a look at some of the screenshots... http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
