  4. coffee will make you stay awake!! coffee has caffeine that increases your body activity and hence prevents you from falling asleep!another thing i've heard of, i wouldnt recommend it though, is that you cut a little bit of your finger, or anywhere, just a little to make a few blood ooze, and you pour a few drops of lemon on it.. and im dead sure you not falling asleep for the night! anybody would like to try it? lol.. but thats for serious!
  5. the site sure looks confusing.. i'm not losing more time on it!i dont find it that effective, but will use it sometimes.. better than nothing as they said! hmm

  8. by saying you just got an old laptop.. do you have the root password or could get it! if so, then you can switch to root (commands above), else i dont know if you can reset a root password, can we?
  9. ..and people still use IE? lollz.. i wonder when was the last time i clicked on the IE icon :-/well, if its coming out i would surely try it but i dont think i will use it. firefox is just unbeatable.. and the above comments were hilarious - especially the requirements! but many newbies that use the internet are still unknown of firefox and still use IE, which my mum often do, and she invites lots of spyware and all that.. hmmmm...
  10. hey nashi, thats nice name.. where are you from? nice to have a lil girlie among us.. basically everyone said the important terms above, so have a nice time and looking forward for some fun from your part ;-)btw, call me Yudz ;-D

  12. yea i guess they do not count towards hosting space, but sql space also have a limit i guess?the space taken up when a user post up a message must not be much, a few kbs i guess? depending on the length of post and data/bbcode/smileys/images ?
  13. yeah.. but i prefer checking my emails from the pc-internet itself! instead, i would prefer to have sms alerts to mobile when new email enters, but whtever, i wont be using it. it maybe cool for the ones using it, but you have to pay your phone company for using it, nah?

    Invision vs phpBB

i think i will go with phpbb, coz its more easy to use and more flexible to what i need/like.invision is complex in the sort that its not designed properly to be easy, but i can still manage.. depends on taste too..also, i've tried phpbb first, and i havent had much problems, so yeah phpbb..
  18. I could live without a computer. But also a computer without internet access is almost just as bad!"If the internet were to suddently crash right now, we would all die. Everything from our Atomic Weapons to the cash register would not function, causing our encomony to crash. "i dont think we would die litereally, but we would be feeling helpless. try to figure out how people lived back in the old days where there was no computer. "And, you would not be able to talk with people and get help on the web."i guess the topic was about the computer and not the internetI would live, since the Internet is not very important. It would take a long time to get use to, but soon enough I would get use to it. I could find many other ways to have fun, like play games and watch T.V."i can live without it as there are still so much left out there to do than just computer. like chilling with friends flirting, sex (lol), having fun, outdoors games and all sorts of sports and everything.. there's a life outside computers too, especially for those addicts of computers, like myself! lollz
  19. well, they eat healthy foods, unlike americans(not being rude) who eat fatty foods only(not generalizing), and that is the bitter truth!i read that news before and i guess its true! japanese are hard workers and if you see what they do everyday, is all work! they enjoy after work, or seldom enjoys, but they do enjoy sometimes! they always have a vision, a goal, something that keeps them busy all their life. they use bicycles to travel, hence exercising, rather than using motorvehicles and getting fat..thats why you see japanese so much progressing, and stupid america felt jealous and attacked them so bad.. there's much more coming from them in the futur.. like, lack of petrol is not gonna affect their life while for american it will.. duh..
  20. i have a 512M mp3 player/usbmemory drive and i bought it at $100 and i love to chill with it when i travel. its so cool, can store about 100songs and i can use it for data too! it has voice recording system, with its equalizer and all that, also FM radio included.. it just rocks for me! what say? try it..
  21. how about you use the norton ghost?norton ghost creates an image of your hard drive(old) and restores it later. but what i'm not sure about its usage is that does it do it well on other hard disk! i personally think it will, and as i'd heard, it does but not usually properly sometimes. you could take the risk though.. if everything works well, you should have your old computer data exactly as it was on the new one. you might need to install drivers etc..backups arent bad either, you could backup a hard drive on a dvd, but i wonder how many gigs you will be backing up..you could connect the old hard drive to the secondary slave and copy the files directly.. but then it depends if you had any installed programs on the old one, it might not work as the registry values will not be there!you can backup your registries and merge it with the new one, although i wonder if that can be done. i think i can but i've never tried it so cannot give more info about it.but well, try the norton ghost, its pretty fast too!
  22. thats interesting piece of info, but i dont think that its a reliable info. where do i get to check this info? and which book is it from btw?1985.. thats how old i am(20), and i guess i could be among the 100 domains names.. lol.. one of the biggest inventions.. :-D
  23. i would say:1.dont give them a chance for complaints.2.the first few days of work is a real determinent about what others think about you, so you need to do your level best.3.usually, when you go for an interview, you should say something that may impress them. this biggest donts is not to over-react! just be original and yourself, and they will be interested in you for not trying to be someone you arent, and this is very easy to detect as an interviewer4.be prompt and on time, no absences, get settled for a few weeks/months before you make yourself 'feel at home' at your job5. get friendly with your superiors. try to joke sometimes with them, in lunch time, and remember to be serious when needed and humourous at the right time. failing from which could do more harm than you think!6. be friendly with your collegues in general, and dont show your hate if you hate someone. when your superiors notice that you dont have an attitude towards collegues and can work as a team, they will like to keep you longer..7. participate in the activities and show you have an interest in the job rather than just nodding and executing given instructions.overall, you should be able to keep your job, and a balance between your personal life and work life is needed..
  24. i think there are better ones, but clicksor is not bad too!also, 1 thing i found out with clicksor is the rate they pay you depends from the location of the users, like a user from USA clicks on the ads, and a user from a lets say euthopia (do they have internet?) click!i usually clicked on my ads when i was in USA, and it paid me about 7 cents+ a click, and here in Mauritius, it pays like 1cent a click..also, the range of advertiser is not much, most of the time i get clicksors own ads on it!else, i guess they are good to try..
