  2. Majestictreefrog and qop may be right when they say there is no meaning to things, but the existentialist kind of thinking can easily degenrate into nihilism and defeatism. Maybe our lives are just attempts just to seek happiness in as many forms as possible, both directly and indirectly... "There is no one truth - that is the only truth" This statement it true if you think abt it a lot. There is no single truth, truth itself is a perception and hence varies from person to person. Even physical existence of an object has different meaning for different people. We attempted to create common perception by creating things like measurements for physical objects, yet inspite of this, no person thinks the same thing about an object or fact or phenomenon.
  3. Other than Open Source projects, Free versions of software mostly for individual users. Those companies make their revenue from corporate licences. By offering software free to people, they develop goodwill and are accredited with philanthrophy as well as provide a sample for corporates to look at.Ex- AVG AntivirusSome sofwares have been developed by individual/small groups of people and in that case people distribute it free and ask ppl to donate to their site.Ex- Easycleaner and spybotSome companies provide free services and generate revenue from ads hosted on their websites or in their software.Ex (ad in service) - Gmail, google, hotmailEx (ad on program) - Opera WebbrowserNote: The open source movement has different ideals and motivation.* People like Bill Gates (aka satan) charge 3rd world countries abt 150$ for xp home but sell it to US university students at 10$. M$ is now releasing 'XP Starter Edition' in Asia for us to waste our money on.
  4. You could try Ubuntu LinuxIf you dont want to install an OS, you could run an OS from a Live CD. I that case, try Slax or Knoppix (looks a little ugly) P4 3 Ghz HT Intel D865GBF Mobo 512 SD RAM Geforce MX 4000 series SoundMAX card with Creative 2.1 speakers LG CD RW 80 GD HDD Sony CM-1 usbmouse and Ikey keyboard
  5. I use1. Mcafee Antivirus with AVG Free/Avast Free. Kaspersky and NOD32 are also good2. Zone Alarm Free3. Ad Aware, Spybot, Webroot Spysweeper, Hijack This!, CWShredder, and Firefox, CCleaner, Easy Cleanerregedit and msconfig can do only so little to tune a computer.
  6. Note: The one posted here is not the same thing. This one has been tested and increases the speed, an update to perform these same steps is avalailable on the mozilline.org forums as well. Type in the Address Bar - about:config Then scroll over to the following settings and adjust: network.http.max-connections :40 network.http.max-connections-per-server :20 network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server :20 network.http.pipelining :True network.http.pipelining.maxrequests :32 network.http.proxy.pipelining :True Taken from here
  7. The Bizhat one is probly down, I just tried the Geocities one, it works.
  8. IMHO, make the left nav bar darker... using 1024x768 too. The homepage is great... are you some photoshop genius or something?
  9. If you want cartoony and non-serious, you could replace the grey background and use a white background with medium blue or orange or something in the logos.
  10. Hey Lloyd, pretty nice professional looking site, I liked the logo and the menu and I like people who use neutral colors like grey :PSuggestions - 1. You could increase the size of the middle part (table?) in the links page and keep it uniform for all pages.2. You could increase the font size of the left side navigation bar.3. Remove the avatars of the newly joined members and display only the name. I personally like verdana, but the font you have looks kewl too.Have you considered using Drupal or such like for cleaner intergration?
  11. Geocities Simple HTML creation for now (bizhat hasnt enabled php). Pls post back suggestions or comments Also you can join this personal Forum hosted by a friend and me, but seeing you have Xisto, you'll probly never need another forum **Edit- Removed the Bizhat site link
