  1. Nice, I like pictures with less colors. You did a quite good work around there.
  2. I think it is a bit lame for you to tell us not to use HEX Editors.
  3. I think this will disable regedit (the program that u can use for editing registry). This would certainly not disable registry because it is one of the most important components of Windows. It will be very very hard for you to disable registry.Best regards, Florin Asavoaie.
  4. I will recomand you a Sony Vaio S series or Sony Vaio T series. Very nice, small, portable and anything you want laptops. Sony Vaio VGN-T2XP/S is one of the best. Take a look at the sony website.I hope you will enjoy everything I wrote here. If you need more informations just send me a private message.Best regards, Florin Asavoaie.
  5. If you want to learn Oracle you can find and join to the one of the Oracle Academy schools from your country. Look at the Oracle website to find it. In Romania there are 2 or 3 Oracle Academies. You must learn Oracle very good and then pass some tests. After you finish all this with a high grade you will recive a developer certificate, a very important one.
  6. Well... It is not hard at all to do it... You must only read all the clues on the site and slowly debug the site.
  7. Use a telnet client that has proxy support (HTTP or SOCKS 5). One of the best telnet clients would be Putty (check http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ for it). Best regards, Florin Asavoaie.
  8. You can find .com domains at $5 or $6, so .net and .org. .Info are $4 and there are also a lot of other cheap tlds and cctlds. You must be very poor to not buy your own domain name.
  9. Try and go directly to "[username].trap17.com:2082/login/" or "[username].astahost.com:2082/login/". I had the same problem and this solved it.Best regards, Florin.
  10. I'm 17 years old and I like PROGRAMMING, not scripting or kidding. I'm a very good programmer (I think). I won a lot of programming contests.I know a lot of programming languages: C, C++, Java, JavaScript, Actionscript, PHP, Python, HTML (if counts), Pascal (Delphi), MySQL, PgSQL. I am curently learning ASM and Oracle.Any new language is very easy for me to learn. I learn a new language for any new project that needs it.
  11. GMail has almost anything you can wish from a free webmail service. First of all - NO BANNERS or any other ADS on your emails.Conversation SupportLabelsVery Good SearchSpam FilteringEMail receive rulesVery good HTML email supportand many other features. I really like GMail.
  12. There are some differences beetween MySQL 3.* and MySQL 4.* and because of that, PHP developers decided to use 2 different extensions for this 2 different versions. MySQLi I think is working only under PHP5.
  13. SANDISK SDCZ3512A10 512/1024 MB CRUZER TITANIUM is the best choice for such a disk.
  14. I've seen this topic and googled my name and my nickname. My name is unique and my nickname is similar just to a football player from italy.Searching for my name on google, I got 113 results, all of them with websites, scripts and programs made/designed by me, results at programming and mathematics contests and so on. All this made me feel very good. I should subscribe my website at google.
  15. Well, I am very happy that you agree with me.In my opinion, people should be redirected to other operating systems than Windows. Windows is generally for kiddies. For real people there are many good operating systems. So, anyone who use Linux, please tell the others how nice it is. If you don't use Linux, just try it (maybe a distribution for begginers at first, such as Mandrake).Linux RULEZ, Fedora ROCKS, Unix is the father and mother of everything.
  16. Instead of posting unuseful codes, you should really take a look at http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616.html . It is the HTTP 1.1 RFC (protocol reference). You can find ther eanything you want. By knowing a little programming and reading that you can simply make HTTP based applications.
  17. Try and use Fedora Core 3. It has the latest version of KDE, good documentation, a lot of forums where you can ask, IRC based support and anything else you need.I use Fedora since the first version (Fedora Core 1) and it is a very good operating system for home use (not recomandable for a real server, Debian rulez there). Easy to update, install, configure and maintain. Fedora Core 4 is already Beta and soon we will have a final release of Fedora Core 4.
  18. You can use VMWare and install a Windows Virtual Machine. Then you simply run Windows thru Linux and do your job. See my post at Alternative Operating Systems and check http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
  19. Hi,Everyone uses Windows, but I think Windows is not a good operating system at all. I use Fedora Core 3 (http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/) as a main operating system and it is all ok. It gives me everything I need. Easy to install, easy to configure, easy to maintain, free. Nothing else you need. Many people told me that they doesn't run Unix based operating systems because they will not be able to use Win32 applications. In fact, there are 2 options to run "Windows" or any other operating system from a Unix box. The first one is to use an emulator (such as Wine for runing Win32 apps on Linux). It is true that the applications will not work exactly like running directly on Windows, but it's all ok if you want to run simple applications. The other way would be to run virtual machines. You need a good machine, but on my computer (Intel P4 3 Ghz, 1 GB RAM) I can run Fedora Core 3 (as host), Solaris and Windows (as Virtual Machines) at the same time. For creating virtual machines I use VMWare 5 (http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/) but there are many other to use.
  20. If you want to run a webserver, like Xisto for example, probably you will need the following features: - HTTP Server (Apache recommended), for allowing users to view your webpages. - FTP Server (there are many, I recommend you to use GuildFTPd on WinXP, to allow people to upload their websites) - PHP (one of the most used Server Side languages on the internet, easy to write your own scripts in it, or to install free script, downloaded from internet, such as counters, forums, etc), also you can use Perl, Python, JSP and many others instead of this, or with this, but this is the one I like. - MySQL (one of the most used relational databases on the internet, very useful when you have large amounts of data to store and deal with), PostGreSQL would be an alternative. Useful links: - http://httpd.apache.org/ - http://www.guildftpd.com/ - http://php.net/ - http://www.mysql.com/ - https://www.python.org/ - https://www.postgresql.org/ - http://www.cpan.org/ I would recomend you to not use WindowsXP as a server. A Unix based operating system would be more recomandable and would gain you better functionality. You can use Linux (Fedora Core 3, Debian, SuSE, Slackware for advanced users), FreeBSD, Solaris and many others. I hope this post would help you.
