password protection thing
warbird1405241485 replied to suicide1405241470's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I tried that also with JavaScript. Problem 1: I still didn't figured out why, but it just didn't work , problem 2: if people look at the source-code they can see the passwords, unless you put it in another js file but even then people can find it. I did some googling for you and this was what I found maybe you should try it: http://www.bravenet.com/webtools/passwd/index.php -
Ok, maybe that true, but I can't find any books about it, do you know a good site? And why I never saw any site programmed in XHTML? I'm considering to change, but if nobody use it for real sites why should I do it then? I know for a fact that it isn't very handy to use two languages for the same thing at the same time so if I want to use XHTML I have to stop with HTML and that's also not what I want. Just a little note: I never saw a post of me so much quoted as the first of me on this topic.

Best Fps Ever! what do you think is the best fps ever?
warbird1405241485 replied to iGuest's topic in Computer Gaming
My vote definately goes to Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory for the online FPS's and FarCry for normal FPS. Why ET: I like WWII games so that's already an advantage for it and I like the graphics and gameplay of online playing more then CS.Why FarCry: because I spend 50euro to it . And because it has BEAUTIFUL graphics, very good AI (smart enemies) and it has many levels. -
I don't think that's the best way to learning game programming, it takes a lot more time if you first learn HTML then JavaScript and so on. GML is just as easy, or maybe even easier to learn and it's much more similar to normal programming languages then HTML/JavaScript. No, there must be easier ways to make games then HTML.

Life Without A Computer is it possible?
warbird1405241485 replied to insanity10117's topic in Software
The reason I think why so much people can't life without a computer is because a computer is something mystic, it will always have some secrets in it. When a script doesn't work you want to figure out why it doesn't work, you spend many sleepless hours behind it and then, finaly you got the solution. If you play a game you always want to get the next level, and the next, and the next until you reach the last. Then you buy a new game and you start it all over again. It's like drugs man, when you started with it you can't life without it anymore and you always need more. I got my first computer when I was 5, now, 8 years later I'm using it more then ever, just because I get used to it and I can't stop anymore. -
Low Self-esteem sometimes i hate myself
warbird1405241485 replied to Shogi's topic in General Discussion
I had somewhat the same problem, I´m not the youngest, the oldest of two infact but I am ugly as ..... uhh, I don´t think the word for that is discovered yet , never had a girlfriend until my 14th and almost everyday I had troubles with my parents. That´s why I´m so much working on a computer, I making games, design websites and things like that. Maybe you should do something like that too, a hobby for you only, so you can be alone for a while when you have troubles and you can forget everything. Try to spend so much time with the friends you have and if you realy don´t have ANY kind of friend then you should try to make some friends, maybe on internet, they don´t care about how you look because they can´t see you. I know that it´s very difficult but focus on the things where you are good in. That you are on this forum means already that you are pretty interested in computer i think, maybe you are good in making websites???Anyway just be yourself and don't try to be more then that, I did that once and I will never try it again, I got some friends with it, but no realy friends they all moved away from me after sometime and the hate me even more now.I hope I helped you a bit, and remember: always keep smiling. -

Text Link Rollovers Gerat effect for your websites
warbird1405241485 replied to saga's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Thank you a lot guys , I was searching for this thing for months ( maybe some less, but don't care ), the result will soon be visible on my site, when I've got the required credits. Maybe it's not very good, but I'm not very good in making sites. -
Online Dating Sites Do you use them?
warbird1405241485 replied to rhodesian.dragon's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I never used that kind of sites, because I'm pretty young, 13 year, because I already have a girlfriend and because people aren't always who they say they are. I don't think I will ever use them. Maybe when I'm getting a stone on my head and I'm getting mad , but personaly I don't think that will ever happen. -
I prefer this code: <embed src="song.mid" loop="infinite"> I like it more because when you use this there will appear a start/stop button, so you can stop the music when you find it annoying.

If you want to learn easy, you should try GML, it's very easy to learn and it's like a simple version of C++, so if you want to learn something else after that you can more easily learn. It's also made to design games, so you learn also something about making games, for downloading GM see my first post, or click here

I suggest you use invisionfree. You don't need any scripting expierence or things and it's free, it's the same board Xisto use :B. Register here: http://www.zifboards.com/

Life Without A Computer is it possible?
warbird1405241485 replied to insanity10117's topic in Software
That's the same way I getted online when we had still a dial-up modem. Now we have ADSL and fortunately my parents didn't put a password on that so now I can be online as long as i want. My parents still don't know I have their password so if I want I can also access their accounts on this computer, but I don't need to since I am admin on our computer. -
I use it for 3 years now, and I still use it. Maybe because I spend to much time by learning GML, the programming language of Game Maker, that's btw pretty similar to C. The only problem of GM is that you need a pretty good computer for a rather simple game because the graphics take much time to load, unless you like to wait 10 minutes before you can play a game of course.

Heart gift for my valentine :)
warbird1405241485 replied to icey's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
I don't know who your valentine was, but if she isn't impressed by this then she have to be pretty bizar, this is just amazing. I wish I could draw that good. -
Well I made pretty much games, but I lost a lot of them because my father reïnstalled the computer. *sniff* :) . The last game I made was Alien Invasion, a Mario-like game but instead of monsters you had to kill worldleaders like Bush (almost similar to monsters, sorry for that). Maybe i'll post a download link and some screenshots later.

I totaly agree with you icedMetal, on one point at least. I have seen so much topics with titles like "how can I make a game" and "whats a good game-making program", I'm just gettin sick of it. But I don't know if your idea is a solution for that. Maybe it's better to put a tutorial "how to make a game for beginners" in the sticky section of this forum. And if people still post that kind of posts then give them a warning, I think that will do it.

There aren't any I'm afraid, the only programs for making games are used for making games to play in Windows. If you want to make a game for on your site you have to learn a language like Java I think. Unless it's meand for downloading and then playing with a TCP/IP connection. If you want that I can highly recommend GameMaker, see this topic for more details. Click here to download GM.

Whats Is The Difference Between Javascript & Java
warbird1405241485 replied to cool1405241471's topic in Programming
Well, it would be easier if you just ask what's NOT a difference. But ok, I will try to answer. Just a few examples: - JavaScript is a client-side language, your computer is compiling it. Javais a browser-side language, it's compiled before you open it. - JavaScript is (much) easier to learn, I learned it in about half a year and pretty good I think, I tried to learn Java, it tooks 3 years and still i don't understand much of it. - Java is much more powerfull then JavaScript. - JavaScript is only used for websites, Java can also be used for other things, like games. -
Enemy Territory Kicks ass of every other game
warbird1405241485 replied to iGuest's topic in Computer Gaming
I would realy play HALO instead of ET when i had a Xbox, but since i don't have one and my parents don't allow me to buy one i play ET. My cousin has a Xbox and HALO 2 so i playd it a while and i think it's the best game after FarCry. If you don't want to spend a lot of money or you don't have any then ET is maybe more your suite. It's Open Source so there are many people who make new maps and that's why you should never get bored of it. -
I always suggest GameMaker, since you can make games with it in a very easy way, even if you don't know anything about programming. When you want to make some more advanced games you should learn GML (GameMaker Language), the language of GM. With GML you can make 3D games that look pretty cool. This is the website of GM. And you can download the latest version of it here. Click here to download the documentation.
