  1. It seems I was trying to visit your site when the server drives were being fixed. I can now see your home page again. However, the color viewer page only shows this: My Javascript works fine. I don't know what the problem might be.
  2. Astahost address: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Site Address: http://www.racheleddey.com/ Theme: Music - performer/instructor Active: YES Added - m^e
  3. Hey, microscopic^earthling! Have you tried The Godfather. I use it from time-to-time to tag mp3s that my band records. It has a ton of functions, but I don't know if it is what you are looking for. It is freeware. Check it out here: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
  4. If you are using a Windows XP system, press Ctrl+Alt+Del to see the task manager. Click the Process tab to see which process is utilizing a lot of the CPU. If you see a process doing something and don't know what it is, type the file name into Google and search to see if anything related to viruses or keyloggers comes up. Or, post the file name here for more help.
  5. This page doesn't seem to work. Your site also seems to be having problems at the moment. Please post a message when you have it up and running again so I can check it out.
  6. This poster is now hanging at the Rosewood Theatre. It looks WAY better on paper than on screen. I'm really pleased.
  7. Geez, thanks! I've looked through your artwork before. Coming from you, that's a huge compliment!
  8. I haven't been able to sign up for Audioscrobbler! I fill out the page, click submit, then I get a blank page. Every single time. It won't confirm my registration and it doesn't log my songs.Bummer.
  9. ninjamunky provided you with really good step-by-step instructions, though I've ALWAYS had trouble with IE's FTP. Try a good freeware FTP, like FileZilla or any good one from nonags.com.
  10. There's little that users should care about in all of this, unless you have a personal love for anything IBM and will be sad to see it continue to be sectioned off, sold, discontinued, shutdown, etc. The old company will probably be gone within a few years. Intel is merely providing replacement chips to Apple because IBM is gradually going away, as evidenced by IBM's selling off their PC hardware division to a Chinese company not long ago. And by the way, despite what Intel's hundreds of millions of dollars in advertising tells you, they are running scared of lil' ol' AMD. It will take them several years to catch up in the 64-bit market - the future of computing - so they're trying to make all kinds of deals and shouting them to the public in the hopes of maintaining the appearance of strength. (Remember all the crowing last year ago about Intel providing chips for Dell's mobile devices??? Never materialized.) Yes, they still have much more market share than AMD ON EXISTING SYSTEMS, but as old machines come out of server rooms, off of desktops and replaced in laps, it shall dwindle. Apple doesn't NEED Intel. Intel NEEDS Apple. Intel provided the low bid with a high production estimate. Any chip maker can take on the task nowadays. Apple merely gets to benefit from a widely known name of Intel, not some major advance in technology. This is no major advance or setback in the world of computing. This is marketeers trying to make stock prices go up, not make our lives easier.
  11. I have no recommendation of a specific drive, but here's one of my posts from another thread about SATA drives. You'll find helpful info from others in the thread, as well. http://forums.xisto.com/topic/82356-topic/?findpost=
  12. I'm a Jetta owner so I wish great things for your site! First, in terms of color choices, the grey and white theme is boring, but not awful. Is it the default color scheme? Anyway, I'm partial to green, either a Beetle green or Forest Green theme would be great. I'm thinking that a nice effort could be made to match a VW interior/exterior color scheme to the site layout. Ya know, Dark base color then contrasting tints for highlights and slip in some light and dark greys for accents. Then match your banners and other graphics to the site colors. But green isn't the only answer. The overall layout is pretty good for what it is. One suggestion I would make (if at all possible) is to move the login form to the top right corner, put the Newsflash just below and then the poll. Finally, I find User Ratings generally useless. That's just me. Someone else may see value in them, but for what you are doing, I see no reason. If it were my site, I'd turn them off. I hope I was helpful. Good luck with the site!
  13. I don't understand by "playing the music file on another site." Do you mean that you are using your hosting to store the music file and you have posted the link on a site that has a different host? If so, that should not be a problem. The only reason that would not work is if you got the URL or the file name typed incorrectly. Do you have spaces in the file name? Does the file name use and odd punctuation? Is it an mp3, a wma, an ogg, real audio, etc? More info would help solve your problem.
  14. You can find other discussion threads right here in the Xisto forums that will help you with this. Check out the following threads for help. If you have other questions, keep posting! http://forums.xisto.com/topic/83674-topic/?findpost=1064302022= http://forums.xisto.com/topic/82680-topic/?findpost=1064294774= http://forums.xisto.com/topic/80372-topic/?findpost=1064277080=
  15. I think it is pretty great for me because I can search for people who like Old Crow Medicine Show, or The Mammals, or Uncle Earl... really obscure string band stuff and find others who like it. The automatic recommendations are cool, but nothing beats being able to identify other music geeks like me.
  16. I was really surprised to see some of the totally obscure bands I love being listened to by others. This is pretty cool. I downloaded the plugin and am going to try it out. Thanks for the tip, qwijibow!
  17. Can any Traktor DJ Studio users answer this question? Is it possible to have Traktor playing tracks from a playlist, going from song-song automatically, then you cue a new track not on the playlist, it plays the track and then automatically resumes the playlist? So you understand, I'll paint a scenario. Imagine having a laptop behind the bar at a venue playing music over the house system. The person behind the bar can leave the music unattended most of the night. From time-to-time, they can quickly change the next song and resume whatever they were doing. After the song plays, the jukebox continues. I may get Traktor if this works for me. I know there's other software out there that may be able to do this. All ideas are welcome. Thanks!
  18. Thanks! I'm going to be doing a lot more in the coming months and everyone's input is really encouraging. I won't be posting all of them here, just ones for comments.
  19. I'm not entirely sure I understand what you're hoping to accomplish. Here's a tutorial someone created for embedding wma in a web page. I hope it helps. http://www.colorado.edu/AmStudies/lewis/Design/feel.htm
  20. You could try Audacity, a free audio editing suite. You can download plugins for it that can do all kinds of things. Like, if you want to take a vocal track out of a song to record your own, get the Center Pan Remover plugin. Load your .wav or mp3 into Audacity, run the plugin and start singing! There are plugins for almost everything imaginable, a lot are free. You can buy really great high-end plugins that can be used with Audacity, as well. Also see: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ If you want to post your music online, check out this thread. http://forums.xisto.com/topic/83987-topic/?findpost=1064304043= Good Luck!
  21. I was looking for an effect JUST LIKE THIS. Thanks for the tutorial. I'm going to try something similar.
  22. Nothing beats the ol' C64! You can get a lot out of Commodore 64 emulators. Start at Lemon 64, then Gamebase64, then c64.com and you'll have it all. Even cooler, you can get C64 emulators for cell phones and palms!.
  23. You want FREE? A decent little photo editor can be found at Nonags.com called Pixia. It is really easy to use and the results are pretty good. I would recommend it to anyone who needs a good entry-level graphics editor, especially for photo enhancing.
  24. The 9200 will let you spend a lot less to get a lot more than what you have. The difference in performance between to 9200 and 9550 won't be really noticable unless you're going to be doing SERIOUS gaming or high-end graphic design or video editing. If you ARE going to be doing a lot of things that are going to chew up your video resources, I would recommend saving up and buying something even more sophisticated than the 9550.
  25. I was asked to do a poster for a regular open mic night. It had to be non-artist specific, but still advertise what's happening. It is supposed to be sort of occicial looking rather than wildly creative. I'm not thrilled with it, but it will get the job done. Any comments? Thanks.
