I have a 10GB iPod from the second generation (I bought it 3 years ago as a preview one). It still functions fine and contary to what many people say, the battery life has not reduced at all. It is not a great time to buy Mp3 players at the moment, which is why I haven't gotten a new iPod. I would wait until Sony etc. come up with streetwise mp3 players to rival the iPod who at the moment have a HD-mp3 player monopaly basically.

that's a sarcastic joke right? . Google launched their google-mail service quite a while ago which is much better (in my opinion and many other peoples's) compared to Yahoo! Mail and MSN Hotmail. Browsers are very useful to promote a website's services. Although I personally find them annoying if they come with good features eg popup blocked, search toolbar, many people will find them useful.

There are lots of very nice and useful programs and other things on http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ which is of course a freeware only site. You can get items in a wide variety of topics and categories and plus they are nearly all of very good quality since they are all visitor rated.

Hi this is Invision Power Board 1.3.1 as is in Fantasico/Cpanel. How does one close the mysql connection? Thanks
-
Where did you read that? I think it means that the crawler misses out 70% datas or something like that. This could make sense, since theres little point in crawling images etc. Google is most people's preferred website searcher nowadays since it is clean and quick plus now with the extra services e.g. language and gmail it is very useful too.

I didn't touch anything, it just happens to the database/forum now and again more than a bit frequently. What do you mean by mysql_close?Thanks

I really think http://www.dot.tk/en/index.html?lang=en domains look really unprofessional. They are only redirection and at the top it is http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and not http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ which is much nicer looking as well as the .tk being hard to remember at times.

LOL That's not biased is it!Simplemachines looks really nice. Reminds me a lot of phpBB and Invision Power Board though. What would you say are the advantages of this that make it in your opinion much better than Vbulletin, Invision, phpBB etc? -
How To Set Up Invitation Only Forum?
musichere replied to musichere's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Thanks for your replies! That's not quite what I wanted, this is slow and isn't really the way gmail works. An automatic generated link for a signup registration that lets you use it once to create one account is what I was trying to find. I am awful with all kinds of coding, I was just wondering if there is anywhere for Invision to do this? -

Windows XP is not sercure becuase the rate of which people are making potentially fatal viruses is much much higher than the rate of which Windows Microsoft are releasing patches and service packs to prevent this from happening. Also lots of people see it as a challenge to spread a virus and this is for some reason incentive to wreck hundred of computer drives.
-
Wow this is already avaliable to install directly through the http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ control panel. Very impressive.I still think Invision is better though, just because theres less to configure and most of the hard work is actually done for you.

Web Browsers Which Browser type do u prefer?

Mouse gestures are ingenius in Opera but they can be so annoying, e.g. clicking both mouse buttons means back, which is annoying if that's not what you want to do.I have been told that firefox has loads of plugin extensions but still I would prefer to use Opera. -
You can get VERY CHEAP domains at https://www.1and1.co.uk/ and https://www.hostmysite.com, $4 for a .com or a .co.uk is very good value and it's worth investing in one since that equates to less than 1c per day (i think) and domains look much more professional.

If you don't want to photoshop you could always use the 'less expensive' JASC Paint Shop Pro, which is probably easier to use and has a nicer interface to deal with (in my opinion). Photoshop if of course the most obvious option and you should try and learn how to use it.

Can you check your configuration? If your subdomain is hosted with Xisto just use http://forums.xisto.com/ as your pop settings and use the usernames and passwords that you specified.

Another downside to Opera is that it takes up so much system space. Firefox is lighter and lets you run more applications at the same time. But this is made up by Opera's qualities e.g. intergrated IRC and other of the great features that come with the Best Browser on the Web 2004. -
The computer I am using at this moment is 160GB, that is incredible and I am dead jealous. My computer is only 80GB and my computer games and music videos and mp3 files overall amounts to.....60GB.I am getting an external hard drive when I go to China for Christmas holidays though, hopefully 200+GB

Microsoft has done amazing. It's incredible how someone could have made an OS that has changed the world completely. I think Microsoft need to go open-source sooner or later to stop Linux's deveolpment. That is the key to Linux's appeal, and maybe Windows need to go free and open-source to stop it from being taken over.

YABB is very quick. vBulleting is $150 I think or something in the region of that for liscence, which in my opinion is totally not worth the value. There are options which are quicker and more reliable that won't cost you half that much. The options you are looking at are phpBB + mods, invision, YABB etc. -
OK, in a thread called Windows or Linux you have to accept that not everyone will agree with your choice. I did not imply that this would happen to linux, I was simply stating the point that because so many people use Windows that there are that many viruses. I hope people do switch to linux because that would reduce the volume of viruses and also would force Microsoft to step up and improve Windows XP (which in MY opinion is unrivalled in user-friendliness) where? where Is using Linux in IT classes for 3 years enough of a clue? Or do I have to read the source code and learn how to program it. my favourite game is Championship Manager which is not avaliable on Linux. Most of the newest games don't compat with linux. GIMP is OK but surely you don't think it's better than photoshop. iTunes is perfect in my opinion and it is the only thing I would use to update my iPod with, that would be lost through Linux. Firefox and Opera ARE compattable with Linux but hardware like my bluetooth dongle etc aren't.

Look I have used Linux and I did not imply any of those things you said there. How can you say I am a person that doesn't want to be proven wrong when you have just written that yourself. I agree that Linux is sercurer. Openoffice I totaly dislike. PLEASE tell me how you can change the font colour. I used the font menu and the one in the tool bar but neither will change the colour of the font. You can't imply that I don't have a clue when you are wrongly interpreting what I say and making accusations of your own.
