i agree, it has to change. there isn't much structure to the website. the headers are not particularly good and the content header looks like it has been stretched to fit its container. try and lighten things up a bit, go with some light colours maybe some white, silver, greys and so on. perhaps give it a container of some sort and center the whole thing. also try not to use that font it looks like Bahuer or something like that anyways use either Verdana, Tahoma or Lucinda Grande at about 10px or 8pt.i don't wanna be rude i'm just trying to give some honest critisism and feedback :rolleyes:good luck

How To Put Sortable Data Into A Web Page.
overture replied to brouzine's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
hihihihi88: i do not think that Darren means illegal in the sense of Law however he probably means that they do not validate or something.PHP and MySQL is the best way to go brouzine you can easily find the queries and information you need to do what you require. -
Hey, i have been looking through a lot of Laptops lately Macs and PCs and there are a couple of queries that i have. I have noticed that say 1 laptop has these specs (part of): Intel Celeron M Processor 350 1.30GHz 400 MHz FSB 1 MB Cache and then i see one with these specs: Intel Celeron M 340 1.5 GHz processor 400 MHz FSB 512 Kb Cache what is the FSB and what kind of difference does the size Cache make, what kind of data is stored in the Cache and would a Laptop with 1.5 GHz, 2 MB Cache be better than a 2.8 GHz, 512 KB Cache Laptop? overture.

from what i remember the people with google ads on their site get money by their visitors clicking the adds. this i think is only a very small sum probably a penny or something. the ads are related to the text on the webpage itself so if there was something about a blog on the page then it may have an ad linking to a free blog site or something. the site you can go to is this: Google AdSense you can sign up and it is very easy apparently. you can have as many or as little amount of ads as you want on your site. do not however click the link many times over and over as this may get your Google AdSense account suspended or deleted. The ads i think are customisable in repect to their colour and size. good luck overture.

this to me seems a little pointless. i think it is a novel idea to show the results in both search engines at the same time and i don't think it is hard to do the code as it does not require much programming at all if they have done it like i think they have. for me google is much better than any other search engine on the net and probably the most used. i do not really know why i think that it is pointless... i just do lol.

Windows XP Problem: Log Off Causes Restart
overture replied to Poison_the_well's topic in Hardware Workshop
i believe that is what is supposed to happen, it happens on every computer that i have used at home and college. -
we have had so many of these topics now lol. i don't know if anyone will need to get one off of you cos they are so easy to get now even though they are by invitation. if you want to give away accounts it would be best to do so by use of the shoutbox. this may be considered spam. but try and contribute to the forum some more to get your credit count up and posts by good quality posts.good luck with posting.overture.

i 100% absolutly agree with you TaurenShaman! Yahoo messenger is full of people with false identities and misleading UserNames getting in to rooms and pretending to be people they are not. I think Yahoo should take a note from MSN cos they stopped or seriously supervised or whatever their chatrooms cos there were too many pervs in their grooming kids and what not. There is far too much being gotten away with in those chat rooms but nothing or very little is being done about it.There is no or extremely little moderation and with all the software available out there for yahoo people can do a lot of damage or view private webcams and even record them without peoples knowledge. i stopped using Yahoo years ago before things started to get really really bad with YM. i just think it is disgusting what happens there and what the children who genuinley use it to chat with their mates or whatever get subjected too.

I think that is a nice-ish idea, but will there be just one bookcover being printed 'cos if not it might get a bit.. not boring (can't remember the word) but a bit annoying having to do that process for each printed one. i think it would be a good idea to do what you want in photoshop because you only have to do it once and you could control the effect you want. if you cannot figure how to do what you want in PS you could search for some large high-quality images on google for 'old distressed paper' and take parts and do what you need.you could also try adding a little vector work on the castle some bold lines and colours could help with the perseption of third demension to it.

I use a program which i made; it is based on Notepad but my version has tabbed files and a pretty good file management system. i am working on other features for it like those SingleDaddyof2 mentioned. you can open all types of files in it just like others can, i made it as part of a very important college assignment (i done very well lol).

overture replied to ndhill's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
very nice ndhill. i like the poses you have done, i really like the 2nd, 3rd and last one that you have done probably cos there is more detail yet still a little rough. many people seem to do a heck of a lot of quick sketches like 30 second sketches of people or other objects, do you do that alot? or are you more digital than traditional; you can't bring your PC and tablet everywhere you do lol. yet you still have to take into consideration the principles and such when doing very quick drawings. i cannot seem to do such quick sketches, i just cannot leave them like that, i think i overwork things. -

thanks noel. i have been practicing all i can in my spare time at the moment being as it is coming to the end of the college year got a lot of work to finish. i have been sketching a lot on figure drawing 'cos i haven't actually focused on it that much before. it is going good, there are many(x infinity) techniques out there, when i am back at college i will probably checkout some books on figure drawing.also at my college they have no idea about where to start with digital art either. they have digital slices in their courses but that is just 3D stuff. it's a shame.overture. -

hey ndhill, that image looks better than the original . i am studying Software Programming at college i am coming to the end of my 2nd year which will be the end of the course in about June or July.I planned to go to Uni to study Graphic Design but i was not accepted due to some *BLEEP*-up by some people, they didn't tell me something which was required for me to have a chance to get into Uni. i am just practicing in my spare time at the moment with lighting in Painter. -
I think i agree with everyone else. i have had a couple of Desk top computers in my time going back a few years and they were perfectly fine then and still are now. I have a laptop now as i always wanted one, and the price between my laptop and a desktop really does not differ much here, obviously depending on what specs you want it would be higher or lower. qwijibow: Yes! when i got my laptop christmas before last the battery life was what it said - around 2 hours - but now the longest it has lasted is around 40 minutes. i have no idea why this is as i do not overcharge the battery i always try to boot it up without it plugged in then if it does i plug it in and let it charge while i am using it. This pi**es me off a little/lot as it was one of the reasons why i bought it. Honestly if you do not need to carry it about or have a large enough room then go for a Desktop, i am perfectly happy with my laptop except the battery life issue. overture.

@ndhill: i was wondering something what blender in Painter would be best for getting a good skin texture, nice and smooth. I cannot seem to get the right turn out for it, it usually blenders way to much or when i alter the settings it doesn't do it enough.Or if possible do you know a good tutorial on the matter. I will keep trying, it is just a big change from Photoshop like i have mentioned before somewhere on here.thanksoverture. -
Thankyou for all 2 of you replying lol. really thanks. Thank you for your comments lacking_imagination and ndhill.I haven't done the eyes properly as it is just a basic sketch so i didn't add any great detail, but hopefully they will turn out fine .ndhill thanks for the comments. I occasionally use a base coat to build up depth like you said, but for some reason i didn't use one this time. I do not find it hard to do it without it though, and i seem to get a non-flat image at the end.I am still practicing as this is only my second portrait so hopefully i will improve if i keep doing more and more.I'll upload another version, probably when it is complete.thanksoverture.

Hi all, i am working on a Gallery commenting script for myself and i got stuck at a part of it. I would like each new comment added to an image to be a number as the text file name like 1, 2, 3. everytime they add a comment the next file name is incremented (+1) and so on for example; if there was a text file names '1' then the next would be named '2'.I know how to create the file and the rest of it, but i would like to know how to do this. I should probably store the last file name somehow and then add 1 to it to create the next file but i do not know how.Thanksoverture.

Hey all, I thought about posting this image when it was all done and i was happy with it however i thought it would be cool to show some progression shots of it. The other reason is if i post the images i may get some feedback and it may urge me to actually finish it and go onto other things. I have been very busy with college for the past couple of weeks and i haven't been very active. I have done the initial sketch and started the chin and shoulders. I decided to do this image in Greyscale for not particular reason really i just like images in Greyscale . Anyway, her name is Jewel and i think i saw her image somewhere in a magazine or something. I hope you like what i have done so far. overture the image is about 164 Kb.

My First Portrait ...so be gentle with it :-P
overture replied to Herbert1405241469's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
This is good Herbert! Again the only problem i see is the ear; it isn't the correct shade in relation to the rest of her face. Also try and make the outline of her face a bit more defined (but not to dark) so it isn't has blurry as it is.Well done! -
