Wow, this is a very useful post! I have been thinking of setting up a website but I only know some ways of advertising it for free. For a beginner and a frugal person like me, your method contributed to my knowledge and helped me save my money. During my free time, maybe I should try writing at least three articles. I just hope that my schedule and mood will allow me to produce interesting and informative works. Thank you, buddy!

My Own Free Template Download Collection.

That's some cool sites. Bookmarked! :DThis is really helpful. Thank you for the list. -
I'm from Manila, Philippines! I'm currently residing in Quezon City -- a part of Manila which is the capital of my country. I was born in a province quite near to the city and lived there until I was 10. The environment there is better compared to the city. Once you step out the door, you know almost everyone you see. While here, lots of people from different parts of the country are living... a whole lot of strangers.

Video Games Are A Complete Waste Of Time, Face It!
xChellesei replied to rovertos's topic in The Vent
Well, yeah. Just like what I've said, I'm not totally against gaming as it also gives good things for the gamer. I played educational games years ago (when I was 7 until 10) and these are the games that help me in my studies. Now, I don't play them anymore that's why I just stated the current benefit of gaming to me -- relieving stress (entertainment). That's the value of gaming to me. I prefer studying history with books but I agree to that. What I'm against is that some people choose to prioritize playing those "non-educational" games more than their work, school, or tasks and spending the whole day doing nothing but playing these type of games. -
Just like what the other users say, it is a program that generates a challenge to confirm that the one registering to your website isn't a bot but a human. CAPTCHAs prevent spam posts or comments on blogs or forums and spam mails. The common CAPTCHAs are those that asks the user to type the generated text but there are also some CAPTCHAs that uses image. Personally, I like those image-based CAPTCHAs than text CAPTCHAs. Some text CAPTCHAs are quite hard to read while I find those image-based CAPTCHA, which will ask you to complete the puzzle, interesting. For me, they're easier than the common ones. When I don't know anything about building websites, spams and these bots, I really thought that CAPTCHAs are totally annoying. I wondered what's the point of entering random texts that are sometimes unreadable. They also say "Are you human?" and I was like "What? Of course I am !". Spam bots never came to my mind. But now that I know their purpose, I don't get annoyed with these CAPTCHAs anymore even if some text are slightly unreadable.

I also study with headphones on but these past few days, whenever I review, I usually go to a quiet place to make myself more focused on studying. But I guess it doesn't make a good effect since the silence kinda irritate my ears. Sometimes, I'll just turn on the TV but I can't help it but to watch the show. I think I'm more accustomed in listening to music while studying. When I was in review for college entrance exams, my seatmate kept playing distracting music. I just don't like the genre of the song and even if he's using earphones, I can still hear it. This made me annoyed and a bit distracted. So for me, I like studying with the music I like.I have seen some people who wants a complete silence when they study. They get annoyed when they hear noise or even music. In this case, it varies from person to person.

The Best Media Player Which is your best media player?
xChellesei replied to finaldesign's topic in Software
For me, VLC is the best media player. It gives the features that I want such as streaming videos, playing most media types, and taking an easy snapshot of the scene. It's easy to use too. The feature I found interesting is the ability to add video effects such as sharpness, adjustments, rotation, and zoom. I also remember using it to listen to online radios. But since it isn't listed on the poll, I voted for Windows Media Player. I also used Winamp on my laptop before. I can say that it's good but I still like VLC more. -
I'm going to be a fourth year high school student this June. We don't have middle school here (as of now) that's why I'm already in the highest level in high school even if I'm just 14 (turning 15 this July). But, the government in my country decided to change our curriculum just some months ago. Another two years in high school will be added and this, they say, will be senior high school. My batch isn't affected by that though. So by 2013, I'll be entering college. The first batch to follow that new curriculum is the incoming first year high school (Grade 7) students this June. The first batch of Grade 11 students will be on 2016. :

Is Wikipedia Better Than Microsoft Encarta?
xChellesei replied to fermin25's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I used Encarta some years ago. It's great but there are times that I can't find what I really need. I mean, the information is limited. Yes, it may be much more accurate than Wikipedia but Wikipedia gives a whole lot of information than Encarta. Encarta's content is just from some people in Microsoft. But in Wikipedia, everyone is allowed to share their knowledge about something. If you're going to look for the latest update of a certain topic, then I think Wiki will give it to you since anyone can edit the contents and with just a few minutes, the article is already updated while in Encarta, you'll have to wait for some months or maybe years.I just don't like the fact that some people will bother messing up some pages on Wiki. I have seen some pages with just codes appearing on the page. It's like the content was deleted and the codes are the only ones left. Even if I want to fix it, what can I do... I don't know the things to put there. -
Are Girls Prettier Without Makeup? Vote & Say You Thoughts
xChellesei replied to lihuyt's topic in Health & Fitness
Personally, I don't like wearing make up. I feel kinda awkward when I use them or maybe I'm just not used in applying them. For me, having no make up reveals the girl's true beauty. I like the 'real' beauty not that one with 'add-on'. Well yeah, light make up is okay. It serves as a little enhancement and some look really good on them. But, there are also some who apply much make up that it doesn't look good on them anymore. It's like they are hiding their face behind that make up and I don't like that. It's best to let others to see the real you. -
Yeah. I received the first email about myCENTS update 5 days ago. Just yesterday, it was updated again.

Hmmm... that would be the book my aunt gave me four years ago. That's the best one for me. I forgot the title and author though. I'm sorry.

Woah! Because of what you've said, I miss having a cat. When I was in my hometown, our dogs and cats get along well too. They always play but there are times that they fight too. I find it kinda funny when they just had a fight then after a few minutes, they'll be friends again. Oh, I see. Ummm... to whom did you give him? I'm glad that your dog never had any issues with food too. I've seen some dogs that are really picky when it comes to food. My dog's a Shih Tzu. When we bought him, we named him Nikko. The next day, the previous owner informed us that his name is Hatchi. So we decided to combine both = Nikko Hatchi. His name sounds like Japanese. He's crazy with biscuits and some junk foods.

I like the color! I'm glad that it's blue. Blue is my favorite. I prefer sites with lighter colors because, just like what Tulip said, they give off the welcoming aura. Since Xisto is a place for information, I think white, blue, green, or gold will suit it. The current color and layout of Xisto also looks really professional to me.

That's nice. Dogs are really caring, aren't they? They're always loyal to their owners. I haven't seen a dog that has a bad relationship with his owner. They are good friends too. That's why I love dogs the most. Why? Where's your dog?

I agree to prashansas. :)I also think that it varies from person to person. I haven't been in a relationship so I cannot speak based on my experiences, but I know people who are in a distance relationships. Several years ago, I saw my aunt crying for hours whenever her husband departs for Dubai. I was a very innocent kid back then so I don't know how painful it is for my aunt. After two years, my uncle came back. My aunt was really really happy. Two months after, my uncle had to leave again. She cried a lot. So, I asked some of my other aunts how it feels like to be separated with their husband. All of them answered that it's really painful. They know that they can't do anything since it's for work, but, it's still hard to bear the separation. My mom told me that if both persons really love each other, just like my aunt and uncle, their relationship will last. Since they both have trust and faith with each other, no matter how far and how long they are separated, their bond won't break. They may be far from each other but their hearts are well connected. I think loyalty is important too. Some long distance relationships don't work because of the lack of patience and understanding of either of the two or both. These relationships don't work because they aren't holding on really tight to make the relationship last. For me, these relationships are weak because distance is not something that can completely separate two people.

Same here. Ever since I started reading spiritual books, my point of view in life got better. These books also give me lessons that I can apply to my daily life. I also like reading comedy books. These books help me to relieve stress from my school. Scifi books are really cool! I also like reading books about romance and drama.

Someday, I will go to Japan, Korea, France, and Italy. I really like travelling but my parents aren't into it. :blush:When I become a bit older, I'll visit Japan first. I really like their culture. I want to see the sakura trees during the spring season. I've eaten some of their foods but I want to taste them all. Also, I wanna go to a manga store in Japan. I'll buy my favorite manga series. Then, I'll go to some concerts of my favorite band. ;)After that, I'll visit the Korea then France then Italy.

I agree. When I go home from school, our dog will always wag his (yes, I refer to our dog as he/his/him) tail excitedly. He even stamps his feet fast when he sees me. It's like he's saying "Oh, welcome home!". Sometimes, he's sleepy when I get home but he will always look at me and wag his tail. He really likes having his head touched. Whenever I'm so tired, he'll stare at me like he's asking "Hey, what's wrong?". He'll jump into me when he's really really excited, . When he needs something, he'll bark to get our attention. Last night, he kept on barking. It was already midnight and I wondered what's wrong since it's unusual for him to keep on barking at that time. Then when I went downstairs to see him, he kept on panting and walking around. I gave him water and I shocked to see him drink it fast. I once caught him letting our neighbors' cat eat his leftovers. But when he realized I was looking, he suddenly barked at the cat. Before, we gave him a metal food plate. He kept on barking and barking at it. He even poked it then ran away when it made a noise. We didn't know what's wrong. Then we realized that he's barking at his reflection on the metal. He's such an innocent dog but I really love him.

I totally agree to KansukeKojima. Just like what KansukeKojima said, every man is not a child of God. God gave us a freewill. It depends on us if we will choose and serve Him or if we will live for our own desires following the evil. God really really loves us. He loves us even if we commit hundreds or thousands of sins. He loves everyone equally. That's the grace of God. The problem is that some people do not love and follow Him. Since there are lots of people who don't follow Him, it's only natural to punish them. People have to learn. Christ ALREADY saved the world. Remember when He died on the cross? That's when He saved us. Jesus Christ didn't sin, did He? So, we, the sinners, are the ones who should have died instead of Him. But God loves us very much so He sent Jesus, His Son, to save us. If God didn't send Jesus to the world, all of us have died and ended to the burning hell. Without Him, we CANNOT be forgiven. If we don't accept Christ as our Savior, God cannot forgive us. We can't enter heaven without Jesus Christ. There isn't any person who is good enough to be in heaven just by his good works. A 'good' person is still a sinner no matter how good he is. Jesus is the only way for us to have an everlasting life which is in heaven. "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." - John 14:6 Every sin we commit separates us from God. Every sin increases the gap between God and men. There isn't 'small' or 'big' sins. A sin will always be a sin. If you read the bible, many verses teach us that for us to receive salvation, we must trust Christ Jesus in everything. He is the bridge between God and men. We must live for Him since He died for us. "And He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for Him who died for them and was raised again." - 2 Corinthians 5:15 And I don't believe that with just believing in God, you'll be saved. "You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe -- and tremble." - James 2:19 That only means that even Satan and his demons believe that God exists. "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also" - James 2:26 So, even if people say "I have faith in God." but don't follow His commands, their faith is nothing. That's why we should have faith and do good works. True faith is when we turn to God, when we follow Him, and when we surrender ourselves to God. True faith is when we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior, when we live for Him, and when we obey Him. God is not to blame for the terrible things that are happening to earth. It's all humans' works, right? Most people set their minds on the things here on earth and not on the things above. Humans get tempted by the evil. People follow their desires. Money, power, fame, luxuries -- all of these things will most likely result evil. In short, people choose Satan over God. So it's all people's fault that the evil wins. "But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves with many sorrows." - 1 Timothy 6:9-10 God wants us to obey Him. He has GOOD plans for all of us. Our plans may be different to His plans but His plans are always better as He knows what's best for us. "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." - Jeremiah 29:11 But it's up to us if we're going to follow His good plan or if we're going to allow the evil to take control of our lives. I see life Remember, He gave us a free will. Therefore, we are the ones to decide on how we are going to live our life here in this world. But no matter how we live, God still wants us to turn our heads to Him. God even gave His Spirit, the Holy Spirit. It's one of God's greatest gifts. We should let it guide us so we won't fall into the temptation of the evil. I haven't read a verse saying that God is pleased with 'what's left over' or more likely, I don't know if that kind of verse exists. But, I don't think God is pleased to see that more and more people are taking the side of Satan. We are HIS creation. So I think there's no way that He'll love to see that we, HIS creation, choose His enemy over Him. It's just that some people don't deserve to go to heaven.

That's cool! Vector arts are totally awesome. That's something I haven't tried but it's one of the things I wanna do. Me too! I want to be an animator someday. With just an art then some animation, we can portray lots of emotions and gestures. What I really like about animation is that it doesn't need people to act to make a video. It may be more time consuming but I think animation is definitely cool. Please do! hehehe. I just saw Nokia N9 some time ago and the moment I saw it, I was like "I WANT this!!". Even if I haven't seen its features, I already want to buy it. So it would be great if I know its latest firmware and software suite. Well... hopefully, I can save some money to get it.

Never mind my previous post. I got an email that my Xisto account is now linked to my Xisto - Support billing account. Maybe I should just wait for me to see myCENTS on this account.

Hometown best and worst features of your hometown
xChellesei replied to AndroKing's topic in General Discussion
My hometown is called Hermosa. Its name, meaning "beautiful", came from the Spaniards who came to our country hundreds of years before. It's a rural area in the province of Bataan but is pretty near to the city. It takes two hours to go to the city by car, but it only takes 30 minutes by ship. It's a pretty large municipality with approximately 52,500 people living there. It's getting more and more industrial now. It is composed of 23 villages. The village where I lived is called Palihan. In that village, there is a street where most of my grandmother's (my mom's mother) relatives live. The name of the street was also based on the name of my grandma's dad since they bought that whole street. My great grandfather divided the land into four equal parts since he had four children. Then when his children married and had kids, they divided the land again. My grandma has 6 children -- three boys and three girls. When my mom married dad, they stayed at my grandma's house first. Then, I was born and my sister followed me after two years. Dad went overseas to work. From his earnings, they decided to build a house on my mom's part (the land from my grandma). Not so long, Aunt X (let's call her "X") married too. They lived at my grandma's house and had two kids. Seven years after they got married, their house was finally built. Several years after, Uncle Y and Aunt Z married too. Playing outdoor games, going to our neighbors' houses, running as fast as we can, shouting so loud when we're the victors, getting so pissed when we're the losers... it was fun... really really fun. The air is really fresh since there are lots of trees there. The houses vary in sizes. Going out to go to other houses or to take a walk is everyone's daily routine that's why I know most of the people living in that area. I'm not really close to all especially to those people who are not related to us by blood, but I know most of their faces. What I don't like about my hometown are those people who keep on spreading and spreading rumors and wrong assumptions about someone else's life. I mean, why gossip someone? It's not like they get something good from that. Moreover, they just make someone look bad. Instead of gossiping, why not just do something better? But I guess I can't do anything about that. Gossips can't be avoided wherever you go. If there's a bad side, of course there's a good side too... I remember that time when I locked our house with the key inside. Everyone's out and I'm the only one left so I decided to go to where my mom is. I thought my mom had the key so I just locked the whole house. Then when I met her, she asked me if I locked it and I said 'Yes. The key's with you, right?". Then we went back to our house to find a way to get the key. Just a few minutes after, many neighbors came to help. When I was 4 years old, I asked my dad to make a swing for us. While my dad was making a swing for us, some uncles (my grandma's sibling's sons) came to help him do it. This is what I love the most in my hometown. Most people don't mind lending hands to those in need. Even if there are busy bodies spreading gossips, there are also those busy bodies helping others. I don't want this to change. But due to some issues, we decided to move in the city. During the holidays or vacations, we come and visit my hometown. I miss living there but due to some family reasons and some promises I made with my friends here in the city, I think it's better to stay here. But still, I love my hometown.
