  1. Can anyone suggest me how to start as Freelance writer in English?
  2. Well talking about hometown is something which is truly near and dear to anyone and everyone. As far as my upbringing is concerned its not at all in a big metro city. You can just say that I am a small town girl. Its Barrackpore in West Bengal,India. But yes the connectivity to proper Kolkata was truly nice. Its just 45 minutes by train. My neighborhood did consist of a typical middle class family background where you can easily find joined families encompassing around you.But mine was a little different.Since my parents used to work under Indian Air Force,we had chosen Barrackpore to build up our house and stay there which was near to my parent's office.Only my maternal grandmother used to stay along with us as my mother was the sole child of her parents. The same holds true for me also.As I had no other brothers and sisters so my grandmother used to fill up that empty space for me.She was my guardian as my parents had to go out early morning to match up with the early office timings on one hand. On the other she was my story telling grandma and also she was my peer like as I used to fight with her if things didn't go well with us.Her stories used to take me to Dhaka, capital of Bangladesh which was again her birthplace. Her family migrated from there post independence or may be a little bit early when actually Hindu Muslim quarrels started taking place regarding division issues.Piece of lands get easily divided amongst us but when you put your mind and heart on something its very difficult to get yourself away from there. Since she grew up there, spent childhood there it was truly difficult for her forget those sweet memories of her upbringing in Bangladesh.Otherwise she traveled a lot along with her husband. But her stories were mainly Bangladesh centric. My schooling again was something truly special as my school was inside the premises of 6 wing Air Force unit,Barrackpore,a truly prohibited area from outside. But inside it was a true fun to be there. When we used to recite the morning prayers in our nursery school planes used to fly just above our head.Just besides our school premises planes used to take off and land.Children usually bear an innate craze for watching planes and they satisfy themselves by buying some different models of planes but I used to watch them live.Although I spent about a lapse of 23-24 yrs in Bengal itself but only due to my school I witnessed a true multicultural and multilinguistic environment getting glimpses of almost every culture existing in our country. Our inter house competitions used to bring forward Folk music and folk dance from almost every corner of our country- Assamese, Kashmiri, Gujarati,Marathi,Bengali,South Indian,Rajasthani. My school friends belonged to various parts of our country and different religions too.So my school kept intact the true Indian ethics of secularism.
  3. No I really don't want to know when I will die as we are all well acquainted with this universal fact that man is mortal. So I will have to die one day. This life has been gifted to us to enjoy and explore life to its fullest and not to worry about all the time when I am supposed to die. Moreover whatever has to happen will happen no one can change that.Pondering over this that when I will be dead will snatch every single moment from me whenever I will think myself as dead
  4. To simply use HTML and see how it works.Just type the following<html><form><body><table><tr><td> Hello </td> </tr><tr> <td> How are you </td> </tr></table></body></form></html>Write the above lines in a notepad and then save the file with .html extension. After you will save it and double click it will run in an internet explorer browser. You will see Hello and How are you getting printed in table format.<tr> stands for a row and <td> stands for column So 2 rows created and each having 1 column.now you like this continue on doing this after referring some book.Unlike XML in HTML every tag you open you have to close that tag using backslash in that order.Like <html> tag was opened first so has to closed last as </html>
  5. I personally like java. But for anyone who likes programming its all about logic implementation and language is truly immaterial. In VB like programmes are being made quickly you don’t have to take care of the language constructs. I like java as it is cross platform and truly secure. Sun Microsystems people made java so that they don’t throw away older things right away. Like in java 1.4 there wasn’t any generics for collection framework. But with jdk1.5 generics is there i.e. type information can be associated with collection classes and interfaces. But at runtime this type information is deleted through a process called type erasure so at runtime both pre generics and post generics collection objects are same. So they keep on changing things as per need but keeping intact older things.Note:please delete the duplicate reply for the same post made a few minutes back as guest_ananya
  6. I studied XML in a book of database management systems by Navathe.Though the book isn't dedicated to XML particularly. But the chapter on XML gave an excellent glimpse of XML as a whole.XML is cross platform(i.e an XML file produced by sun solaris OS can well be consumed by Windows OS) Its truly extensible as one can form tags of his/her own.For multiple applications to use same XML they must conform to the same tags.
  7. Hobbies are something that everyone in this busy everyday life should pursue. To cut some of our precious time and save it for pursuing a hobby will make someone feel that he/she is particularly with himself/herself and is not at someone else's service. It will flush out all the worries, tensions & sorrows from the mind.Today in HR interview it is being checked that whether a person seriously pursues a hobby or not.Because then only he/ she will be able to withstand the tremendous work pressure that is being dumped while working in a corporate environment.
  8. Definitely depression can be held responsible for spoiling ones learning ability. Depression comes from the fact when ones mind is truly overloaded with a certain kind of tension.I once read in times of India newspaper that a relaxed mind performs best as compared to the one that isn't.
  9. We learn & get ourselves certified as engineer degree holders before becoming an engineer. So is true for other professions like doctors, management professionals, fashion designers. But how much it is true for becoming a successful politician? If one answers to this particularly question by citing instances like is Dhirubhai Ambani an IIM graduate? As far as grooming is concerned innate talent is something that helps a person be successful in his/her chosen domain. Also inclination towards a certain field does come from that sensation that we have talent in that particular area. For politics leadership, ability to make yourself intermingle in society i.e to be able to place our self as one amongst many within a particular section of society irrespective of whatever section / class we ourselves belong to and bringing on table the very current issue that is upsetting the lives of common mass and very much determined to find solution to that are some of the qualities needed. But a graduate from a reputed Foreign university in say History won't be able to understand the basic ethics of politics. But this grooming has to be very practical rather than theoritical and also things need to be understood like a successful politician is one who has earned love and respect from the citizens of his/her nation and is successfully dwelling in the hearts of many and not the one who is holding a high profile designation in a particular ministry.
  10. My personal view is even if 1/3rd of the money that is being spent to kill the terrorists there in Afghanistan had been used to help build up their economy as a whole then people who are currently joining these terrorist groups can be prevented from doing so. Moreover by perishing so many innocent lives along with 10 or 11 terrorists in a single bomb strike the amount of resentment growing up in the minds of people out there will not stop children & youth from hoping to become the next generation Osama bin Ladens.Though its very difficult to solve the issue of terrorism through peace. But once a peaceful way be devised & practiced the pace of progress will be gradual but its outcome will be beneficial to the whole world in the decades to come.Definitely victory will come. A true victory of humanity can be witnessed. An eye for an eye will make everyone blind.
  11. I am a staunch believer of this concept that spiritual based education should be given at school level. Its not something made for older generation people only.At an age when children are made to learn English poems & literature, science and their brain is stuffed with all kinds of algebraic formulas, geometry e.t.c. When it is taught that a good student's goal is to acquire excellent marks in these areas and then finally after passing out the school & college level education a good job having good salary, its equally important to let them know that if for some reason a student after putting all efforts to accomplish the goal set for him fails at a certain stage and faces failure continuously despite trying hard enough, what ways are there to gain confidence? In such situations mind starts enquiring should honest ways of succeeding in life be left and shortcuts of achieving success be applied? Does almighty exist in a world like this? What if still after acquiring lots of money and success true happiness doesn't happen to come ones way?Its spiritual education that helps one fully understand the basic difference between materialistic happiness & true happiness and also building up an outlook that real success comes from doing work with full passion without expecting too much in lieu of that. Then only success will run after you rather than you running after success all the time.
  12. KIds can be allowed to access internet at a tender age like at the age of 8 or10 yrs.But the main problem is someone elder one should accompany him/her so as not to allow him/her to access sites featuring pornography. Otherwise letting a kid to access google so as to make him/her get acquainted with the latest things happening around the world is good.A fixed time slot should also be fixed for internet access. Because internet access is not just the only way of acquiring knowledge.A kid must read novels, story books and newspapers. Moreover a kid shouldn't restrict himself/herself to home and must go out for playing sports too that will help in building a good physical/mental health.Nowadays excessive use of computers is making kids remain indoors itself & as a result they are becoming obese.
  13. Basically a pixel is nothing but the electrons striking the back surface of a CRT monitor/LCD screen also known as electron gun.The surface glows when electrons hit that surface.By using a powerful magnet the direction of the electrons is governed & we see pixels forming on the surface of the screen.
  14. Life of a programmer in India depends on what kind of a company a person is in.But for a person who enjoys doing programming, for whom it is a passion its always a fun & definitely a challenge that has to be met within a fixed deadline set up by the company you work for.For me its like a good area where you can apply mathematics & logic.
  15. If you talk about learning core java then I first studied Complete Reference and since learning a language & then doing a certification is always better so to prepare for java certification from Sun microsystems I studied a book by Kathy Sierra meant to actually know java from scratch and pass the certification exam also. Kathy Sierra is a member of the Sun microsystem
  16. Time travelling can be really beneficiary if we could see what faullts and errors we commited previously and what consequences we are facing today for that. Many of our curiosities can be truly satisfied through time travelling as our present is truly standing on the stead of our past. Our past forms the basis of our today.May be through time travelling we answer this very complicated and much asked qustion- who came first the chicken or the egg?
  17. Religion is to believe in this very concept that there is someone who is omnipresent & omnipotent above us who is keeping in view that what is right or what is wrong & we need't take revenge for any wrong deed done to us,just that we are the sons/daughters of that great almighty & whatever happens to us good/bad there must be some reason behind that.Keeping this proper faith in the almighty is religion. Now every religion provides some own unique way of achieving spirituality or attaining what we call as Moksha/Mukti in Indian context like Hinduism,Budhism or Sufism e.t.c But all these ways are somehow the same as they all lead to one goal of attaining bliss.
  18. Independence is what we try to achieve in our life. We earn money simply because we need freedom from poverty. We crave for acquiring power because that way we think no one will snatch from us what we have in life. But a big question is do we really remain happy after possessing all we want to possess? In most of the cases in our everyday life we come across with many people who have achieved a great lot of things in their life after a lot of struggling and at the end of day they are really able to establish themselves as a person having achieved everything in terms of money, name & fame. But still craving for more continues on and on. Real happiness and contentment of mind never comes. As a consequence our mind never reaches that state of attaining ultimate peace and tranquility .For instance a famous film actor struggles a lot to get a break in just 1 film. Then all of a sudden his wish gets fulfilled and he manages to get the role he has wished to be in. One day he is encompassed with name, fame & popularity but still if 1 Friday his 1 film gets flopped & then consecutively if he continues this performance for 2 more films he thinks of committing suicide just because his 3 films didn’t work but a day was there when he haven’t even thought of getting appeared as a hero onscreen. So once he used to think he would be happy if he can just appear onscreen and now when everything is there at his doorstep still he isn’t happy. So the real problem lies in our thinking and the way we try to achieve things in our life. We came in this earth to work, we have to work. But the problem is we came to rule but we are being ruled. We came to enjoy but we are being enjoyed. As if the bee came to suck the nectar but its feet is getting entangled in the very nectar it wanted to suck. So the ultimate solution to this never ending search is to seek spiritualization. Spiritualization can only provide what we all want- Freedom, i.e. freedom at its highest level where we don’t have to crave for more, where we don’t have to get ourselves entangled between life and death as life after death and death after life is that vicious circle which has to be transformed into a virtuous one where death never happens and life goes on and on without craving for more.Spiritualization is the ultimate goal of all species of this world as this continuous process of acquiring life after death and death after life is making us tired and slowly we are wearing out. Basically there are 2 categories of people one who has seen the light and one who has felt the heat. The first category belongs to great souls like Jesus Christ, Lord Gautama Buddha and the second one belongs to commoners like us. We will follow this route only when we have withered out completely from our inside. The ultimate soul perfection happens through seeking of spiritualization and it can only bring the peace and tranquility we need. A lot of people think that spiritualization is just meditating but rather it happens when our soul reaches that state where we can completely understand that selfless work without expectation is the only way we can keep ourselves free from craving.
