  1. The legacy of Indian cinema was, laid down by Dadasaheb Phalke. He did so by creating India's first "first full length feature", "Raja Harishchanda" in the early twentieth century. The next remarkable introduction was the sound film,"Alam Ara" was the first Indian talkie. These were some valuable milestones for an ever-flourishing industry. The continuations knew no halt as dedicated professionals flocked into the industry with their fruitful services. Varied changes could be come across, like the parallel kind, the colored movies and the prevalent trends and conditions of the society were updated time to time showcasing the transformations in any system. The point is that whatever change this art form went through, the audience could always derive enjoyment from it,not to rule out the taste restrictions that create divisions within them. Its just the dissimilarity in their bent of mind. The different genres of cinema cater to them. so, the fact lies that irrespective of the kind of audience and the kinds of movies produced, cinematic excellence gets appreciated on a whole.
  2. Now we are talking about marriages, it is mandatory to talk about the mammoth preparations that go into the making of a marriage. So, the type of the preparation may vary, still in certain departments they are all alike, you know those........ the areas of food for the guests, decoration of the venue, invitation cards, sitting arrangements etc. Having got married, I can mark undoubtedly that there is someone in the whole process who is rarely allowed to get involved , yet is always busy. Still couldn't guess!! its the bride. Here I would mention that she is not out of the process actually, well aware of the amount of pain everyone bears for her. As most of the societies have the system of the sending the girl away with her husband to his place, you can well imagine the nerve- wrecking situation she is about to face. Moreover, there is a bunch of kins and acquaintances that shower her with tons of advices, as to how she should behave with her extended family, and the bride can't but wonder. Another side that worries the bride is the kind of look that would be apt for her, for which a lot of counseling comes in,the stylists if not sufficiently trained, can goof up and add to the dismay of the bride. Within such a state of internal unrest and "butterflies in stomach" kind of situation, she manages to dream of an eternally blissful married life. Can say that she is loaded with mixed feelings
  3. Asked to talk about high school, I can go on and on. I badly miss those days, and I am sure anyone who has been out of school does the same. High school actually is not just a place where we can build our memories for future, but is also a social platform which can be heavily influential. These days the high-schoolers are pretty conscious about the malpractices that exist in the society, they want to put their feet down and create desirable changes. Is there anything that high school kid can change?why not? they are the future of a particular nation. The fact that they are merely students, involved in studies, does not take it away from them. Its just that we need to have patience and guide them through well. Nowadays, the schools have also introduced subjects that can make the kid aware of the norms of the society and to deal with the violations. Internet, another very powerful device has helped generate consciousness, with the help of which they not only get to stay aware but also can and have been found to post opinions on various issues. The corruption in the country gets them boiling, besides you can always discuss with them and quite surprisingly, find the best of the solutions. Having worked as a high school teacher, I must not rule out the aspect of delinquency though.if these kids can understand their responsibility, obviously with a little help from us, they can proficiently construct a fortune for themselves and the country.
  4. I remember when I was a kid, my mother would sit with me and try to make out what her child's interests were, but when you are that young you don't really bother to show your interests, whatever is innate, gets deviated when so much novelty is there for the child to be explored. Then she decided to make me draw a mango, and how disastrous that came out to be! it was incredible that the curve at the bottom tip of the mango required that much effort. the real trouble that I faced still remains unidentified as I was the one who was troubled, and being so young, I hardly remember anything. It was no less than a disgrace for my family that their child wasn't even able to sketch a mango out. So, the idea of sending me to painting classes sprung up............. and it isn't hard to guess that there wasn't a choice but attend the classes. Probably that was a friend of my brother like acquaintance, a young fellow desperately looking for a job, as he got introduced to my parents, my lessons began. He,indeed was a magician------ he was skilled like many other people, but had the capability of transferring his skill to the absolute non-painters( the lot that I belonged to). With the course of time, I noticed that it wasn't that tough to draw a mango, moreover I could also now have a few more things drawn. Oh! yes, that was awesome. Proceeding with my lessons, there came a stage when he would ask me to paint something out of my own imagination, he got busy painting himself, and what did he paint, anything that he would come across and trust me it could be anything. That"s the reason why I call him a skilled person, his skill was actually in his perception of things. When I say drawing anything, do you think that's simple?Every piece of matter on this earth was inspiration for art according to him. Though at present I do possess a good hand at painting, it will take long for me to attain the dexterity of his level, for possibly I lack that divine connection that he had with Nature. This according to me is creativity which can transform a lifeless element into a piece of art.

You are close to right, the cinematography, art direction and all the other technicalities were awesome. The whole caste also rendered a brilliant performance. It showed cinematic excellence.
  6. I must say your mother must be really happy. It is a very sweet gesture, hope your mother has gone through it.
  7. I like it because your poem carries a lot of meaning yet very negligible number of voluminous words are used. Poems usually portray the intense feelings of the poet, but use of literary technicalities takes away from it the original flavour , thankfully, you have successfully avoided that.
  8. It is great to find a girl your age revealing about your concealer, still you have done close to research on makeup, if I could ask you, how would you advise me to work on my day makeup, I am a working woman in my 20's and have smooth, wheatish brown skin.
  9. Very interesting indeed! hope to see more of such quotes
  10. Indian administration can be divided into three parts:Legislature, Executive and Judiciary. Out of these, Judiciary has been given the power to act as the guardian and protector of the citizens. It is the Judiciary's responsibility to see that if any citizen's rights are violated, it should take charge and solve the dispute, restoring the citizen's rights. The powers given by The Indian Constitution to the Judiciary makes it equipped enough to deal with a major number of problems, including malpractices carried out by the government, then why is it the case that the citizens always are found complaining about the poor law machinery of the country. They are actually losing trust. The problem lies in the fact that the process of delivering justice is unbearably slow. There is a lot of delay here, trials take too long as a result of varied factors like lack of sound evidence, any of the prime witnesses to the incident turning hostile etc. Lately it has been seen that even after producing concrete proof against an accused, justice has been delayed, the way it has happened in the 26/11 Mumbai terrorist attack case, the accused is still being tried. This is just one instance, innumerable justice-seekers meet the same fate. So who is going to answer about the solution? People have started avoiding appealing to the courts of law, how do the interpreters of law find this favourable? Has the law machinery really failed to deliver, shattering everyone's expectation?
  11. My mom always got super conscious when she found that my stomach was upset-----can't blame her, I know my stomach's mechanism is a rotten one, she would come up with something that was very little fried or spiced, but pretty good in taste, it could be boiled vegetables and rice with a little oil and salt or sort of a "Khichdi",in which rice and pulses are pressure boiled with a pinch of turmeric and salt, to which a tempering of cumin seeds in little oil is added. Can't say that it was bad but as I already had less appetite, and in addition that heavily light flavoured food was presented ,I totally withdrew. Later as I fell sick, the food was modified to a potato curry(mildly spiced). If I could ask for help could anyone of you suggest something which is favourable for an upset stomach yet tasteful???
  12. I swear!!!!! most of you will agree that these days that we have very little time left for ourselves, time to be spent with our family or time to be devoted to our culture. Thankfully festivals are a time when we can be a bit of our own, I find spending the festive season the best possible way is to be with family and friends, loitering around and having loads of fun. Oops!!! how can I forget the indispensable part , SHOPPING!!!. Yes I do go shopping for me and my family. My favourite festival is "Durga Puja", the most auspicious festival of the Bengali community(me being a part of the same). Would be looking forward as any of you come up with your favourite festivals and the ways to celebrate them.
  13. I have very often heard as I grew up that it wasn't advisable for a family person to have "The Mahabharata" at home. A paradox indeed.... the same people respecting it to be a holy book having some very sought after Gods as its characters, didn't want to possess the text. On the other hand, another grand epic,"The Ramayana" was strongly preferred, a possible reason for such biased approach may be that as those times had most of the families in the joint form, it was believed that the episodes of rivalry among cousins in the former epic would generate negative vibes that will make it hard for the joint family to sustain, and the latter text was a saga fostering infallible brotherhood. It was so easy to choose, but is really "The Mahabharata" containing something that can be learnt. It is said that "Ved Vyasa" a celebrated saint with the boon of immortality, had drafted the epic using Lord Ganesha's teeth. Now when you hear such big names, you can well imagine how important it could be. The episode in the text where Lord Krishna talks to Arjuna on the chariot in the battlefield has voluminous substance in it, what we know as "The Bhagwad Gita", the sacred ancient Hindu text.We can ... trust me derive a mammoth amount of knowledge from it, as we travel back to our roots. detect the basic human problems and dilemmas, henceforth recover from them. The ethics of warfare, have spirituality as well as a realistic bent, though there is a fair amount of betrayal, grudge and exploitation, the text still lies very intriguing. The ultimate lesson learnt is like any other spiritual text which shows the "Victory of Good over Evil". A war like situation is always necessary to exemplify how injustice should be protested against and the consequence explains the rest. Thus the epic stands apart as an immortal piece of spiritual upliftment.
  14. I can well understand how you must be feeling like! I have been in a long distance relationship for almost a year, though it got bloomed into marriage,it wasn't easy to handle it with calm. One of the most important elements in a relationship is being together, which you can't but miss in a long distance relationship. The problems in communication do arise and insecurity reaches its peak. Try and be more in contact, if meeting her personally doesn't always stand possible and keep her convinced that you will always be there for her. Good luck!
  15. I wasn't a part of this city till 2010, but by the end of 2010, when I landed here I was too happy that I have managed to do so. I have heard people saying that if anyone really wants to pursue a dream, Mumbai is the place. As I walked out of the airport to hire a cab, it was the first time I had seen such crowd rushing. I asked my husband why these people seemed to be in a hurry as it was almost midnight, I received a firm and simple answer from him who has transformed into a localite that most people here don't have much time to waste, they spend a considerable amount of time travelling, and wouldn't miss a chance to grab the earliest mode of transport available. To be very honest, I was somewhat intimidated by the cyclonic pace of the city, I wondered how was I to cope with them. After covering a long distance, we reached home and I found that people here had much smaller spaces to live in,another piece of worry for me, the markets , whatever time you visit them were always crowded. It seemed nobody had the time to even look at someone passing by, let alone smiling. The set of experiences that I gathered were lets say mixed. Gradually as time passed by, it was for me to notice the changes in ........ can you guess???? myself I had started liking the city , the crowd- as I too had become a part of it and badly missed it when not around; the din and bustle- it injected kind of steroids containing life in me; the travelling- many of you won't agree as to how someone can like travelling in Mumbai, its not convenient but an everlasting learning experience, makes you tough like hell; the accommodation part which I initially viewed as congested, now had me realise that it was easier for me to keep it clean, I thought the people to be rude, later I was happy that they weren't too inquisitive and hardly bothered one another, the city gave me a chance to grow as a professional and get prepared to face the hardships of life, "The city that never sleeps" gave me the stamina to stay awake with vigour. Thanks a ton Mumbai, you truly rock!!!!
  16. I live in India and I would give it a 6/10, I really love my country but I know that there are many issues to be dealt with as in infrastructure, social customs and politics of course!
  17. Oh God! those laws are strange indeed. Can't understand what makes the law machinery formulate such laws? If we laugh at these, why can't they feel like doing so?
  18. Hello! As an Indian, I am very lucky to have brought up amidst diverse cultures. It has often been said that India is the land of traditions, the traditions that I am talking about are mostly followed on the basis of faith, at times these are fanatically followed without testing the logical side of it. There are practices prevailing like child marriage, female infanticide, honor killings to list a few. Moreover, various acts of domestic violence are also meted out to the womenfolk. Here I would mention that I hail from the eastern part of India, and have spent a major part of my life in the northeastern part of India. According to the ancient scriptures, women have been described as an embodiment of power and knowledge. "ADI SHAKTI" has been mentioned about, where the description goes that even the most powerful of Gods have paid importance to the being of his female counterpart as he remains incomplete without her. Such is the position of women in Indian mythology, whereas the people who worship the Gods and Goddesses fail to allow women even a negligible part of that position. Very often reports of crime against women can be read about in the newspapers. As stated earlier that I lived in the northeast, I have had a somewhat pleasantly surprising experience about the status of women there. At a time when women face so many kinds of tortures, native northeast females' social condition is quite better off. The ethnic tribes of the northeast have their women really strong not just physically but also in terms of their place in the society. The most amazing fact that I came across was that the natives of Meghalaya, better known as the Khasi tribe have the matriarchal form of the society i.e. the boys are married to the girl's family and has to move out with her to her house. The children that they have would take their mother's surname. Then talking about the Mizo people, they have a very high literacy rate and ranked just after Kerala. The Assamese folk also treat their women with a decent approach . The Naga lot is rock solid and their women are the foundation rock. All the other tribes also show traits which make them reach quite close to eradication of gender inequality. Can't put it in words, how proud that makes me feel as a woman! Having said so, it is not that acts of violence don't take place, for they are all part of the human society, yet the significant role that women play in this part of India displays the path for the upliftment of women. Would appreciate if any of you can come up with information about women's progress.
  19. Well I would say that to estimate the average look of a woman based on the place of their origin or nation is not going to be smooth. It can be justified on the grounds of the climatic and environmental conditions which more or less determine their skin and complexion types. However generalisation can't be considered, for you will find women from even the same family and living under the same roof look drastically different.Probably, some genetic and a few other external factors may be responsible. But whatever you put forward is an interesting one, they all look gorgeous.
  20. You know what guys, after completing my high school, I decided, would better say realised that my innate interest was in English literature. My father was very happy to hear that and I was showered with encouragement. Then I proceeded to attain my Bachelor's Degree, where I had to get through 9 over-burdening papers, one of them was Language and Linguistics. I was ignorant of the fact that it was to prove a nightmare for me, as I started to put in a glance, the prescribed book had me ashen my face, It was time to face the truth.A literature aspirant was scared to even look at the structural base of the language. As a breath of relief, it was announced that a new paper has been introduced, which was an alternative for the phonetic part. I couldn't feel happier , here comes the question as to what was so nightmarish? The phonological part has included in it elaborate scientific mechanisms that take place inside the mouth to produce sound. The descriptions were so confusing that running away from home seemed to be an easier option. There wasn't anyone who could guide me through. But I had little to worry as I had chosen the alternative. After sailing through, I aspired to pursue Master's. I had no idea that this time there wasn't a chance to escape ,as it was mandatory to have the phonetic section. So, no options and I had to dig into the science.Quite unbelievably I found out that phonetics can make you grab a different level of the language altogether. I could now analyse why a word spelt or was pronounced in a particular manner. Other important features were accent and stress and how I find it helpful is amazing. Later when I started to work as a communication trainer, the help was forwarded to several recipients and they admitted about the benefits. The lesson that I learned was the same as the saying goes "Never judge a book by its cover."
  21. After going through various topics and the discussions done over them, one can clearly understand that beauty really plays a significant role in shaping someone's personality. It occupies an even more decisive part in the completion of a woman's being. From the earliest ages women have devised ways, of course depending on the resources available, to look good, not to forget the women who have been bestowed with natural stunning looks. Now the question arises what about the women who are not that lucky, they face problems like acne, dark patches, pigmentation.........the list goes on and on, and they have their questions lying still unanswered.Dermatologists have been trying through many years to make these women smile with satisfaction but haven't achieved it fully. As far as my observation and experience supports, skin troubles are not just troubles of the surface, they are rooted deep inside. Various factors may be responsible. As I have witnessed, the aging process, which is far faster in women, exposure to the scorching sun or pollution, unhealthy eating habits, improper amount of time dedicated to sleeping, digestive disorders, irregular monthly cycles, dehydration, genetic factors or excessive stress are some of the usual causes. In addition to that, a few number of deficiencies are also known to have caused such problems. It is quite a task to provide magical solutions, nevertheless we all can take charge of maintaining our own skin. We can be conscious enough to apply sunscreen while we are exposed to the sun or polluted environment, drink a lot of water and have food containing Vitamin C , get at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep, take care of our eating schedule, avoid junk food and most importantly opt for a regular exercise regime to resist the genetic and aging factors to a certain extent, if not totally. In case of any confusion, it would always be the best idea to consult a dermatologist. It is also advisable to get your skin tested to know its type and a simple cleansing, toning, moisturizing regime accordingly set would be of great help. The piece of information that I share is out of my own experience as even I had fallen prey to skin problems, and probably some help could be derived from it.
  22. The ways discussed by you are helpful but the varied skin types have to be taken into consideration, so that the utmost effect comes out. Then it should be kept in mind that the remedies should be well consulted and do not leave any unwanted effects which again would cause you to take the pain of dealing with another problem. At least you took the initiative of discussing it and thereby should be appreciated.
  23. Hey Guys! these days me and my hubby are enjoying the company of my parents-in-law, they have come over to our place to stay with us. My mom-in-law transforms into a maverick as she enters the kitchen. She also doesn't like to spend much time in the kitchen, so has discovered a very easy-to-prepare dish to satisfy our taste buds. It goes this simple way:First we need to boil a small pack of noodles, drain it, and keep it aside to let it dry, then we can proceed with the chopping of veggies, any vegetable you would like to have stir fried, what we most commonly use are onions, tomatoes, capsicums, carrots and may be some cabbage. after having washed the vegetables, heat some oil (whichever you prefer) in a pan, in the meanwhile, mix all the chopped vegetables with the noodles and beat some eggs into it. With the help of a spatula, prepare a well blended mixture, you can add some salt, a little sugar and black pepper to the mixture. On the hot pan, place a tablespoonful of the mixture and flatten it. Shallow fry it on low heat for about 15 minutes, as it takes some time to cook evenly. Make sure that you don't overcook it. As it turns golden brown, remove it from fire and plate it with ketchup or green chutney, you can smear it with some dry roasted masala. In eastern India HAKKA noodles are known as CHOWMEIN, and as it has beaten eggs flattened, it looks like an omlette,so this dish's fusion name has been decided as CHOWLETTE by my family. Could any of you suggest a more interesting name?
  24. Very insightful yet very realistic indeed, those tips would make things magical and I hope many couples do reap the benefits of living in marital bliss. In fact there would be many couples who must have been through turmoils just for not discovering the root cause for loss of warmth and passion in their relationship. It would be easier to detect the crack and reseal it as effectively as possible.
  25. Of course expectations play a significant role when you talk about marriage, how can one plunge into a relationship where he/she is not allowed to rely on someone? Expectations are an extension pf dependability. Would you not like to depend on the person you get married to?I would certainly not say that a partner is allowed to walk out of the marriage just because his expectations remain unfulfilled,a fair amount of adjustment is indispensable yet doesn't seem feasible that there can be a marital relationship devoid of expectations.
