  1. Hi guys, I have a IDE Hard drive i think. It says ATA/100 or something like that. I want to add another hard drive to my computer so i have two. I have a one of those flat cables that connects the hard drive to the Motherboard and it has one more port coming off to plug in one more hard drive to that cable. What is the difference between SATA and IDE and is IDE the same as ATA/100? Can i get an SATA cable and plug it into my ATA/100 or should i just get another ATA/100 hard drive? Thanks
  2. Okay, I think it would be really, really cool if they made a little card the size of a Secure Digital card, and had a cable running out of it and at the other end a little USB or Firewire port where something can plug into the end of this cable. Then you can slip this little card into the Secure Digital slot in your palm, camera, whatever and then you could have a portable hard drive in your pocket and the hard drive plugs into the end of this cable. Then if you?re taking pictures or video with your camera or video camera, it burns all the pictures and video onto the portable hard drive. Then you can take hours of video and thousands of pictures. All you have to worry about is your battery going dead. What do you think?
  3. Okay guys, I found what I needed. And for all those who dont know how to do this or would even want to, I am going to tell you how. First of all, if you dont already have am extra VGA port, you need one of those. Also you need either a PS/2 to USB converter hub for mouse and keyboard or a mouse and keyboard that are both USB and then you just need a USB hub. Once you have those there is a software for windows that costs a hundred dollars(not bad considering) to buy. Now the way this software works is that you can have two to five other computers running off your base computer. But for all the other computers you need enough VGA ports and either PS/2 to USB or a big USB hub with keyboards and mice to go with them. Then once you have them all plugged in and everything, the software has those other computers log in with their own user name and password. But once you do, you can share stuff on the computer, the other computers can do different things simultaneously, and you can share the internet, all with one phone line, and one modem. So it is like having all your computers browsing the web but on one line. So you can have dial-up! Now they also have a package that comes with all the hardware and software you need to hook up two computers, but it is two hundred and fifty dollars. So for the price conscious, the hundred buck one is the best, then you just go get the other parts if you need them. But if you dont know squat about computers the two hundred fifty isnt a bad thing to consider. Here is the web site to get the software. http://www.thinsoftinc.com/index.aspx The one without hardware is called BeTwin 2000/XP Then there is one that is just like it but you can choose between two different packages. It is called Buddy B-680 Premium/ Lite Hope somebody finds this helpful.
  4. That is exactly what i need! Thank you so much. Now all I need is a PCI VGA Card, And a USB hub, and I'm ready to rumble! Thanks again every for all your help.
  5. That would be really cool if you could have all the features of Paint Shop Pro on paint. I think in my opinion that paint will be a little better than the last versions just because of all the new stuff they are putting on Windows Vista. I think they have some amazing stuff planned for this new Operating system that will take us all by surprise.
  6. I know it is possible to do this I just need to know how. If you go to here: http://usera.imagecave.com/Disturbed/dual-ual-station.jpg You can see what I am talking about. That is basicly what I want. So that i can have two people on seperate monitors, with seperate keyboards and MICE(grammer correction) running off of one computer. So that I can connect to the Internet using my dial-up, and the person sitting next to me can pull up another browser and tap into my connection. And i want to be able to do this without haveing to set up a network or use two computers. Understand now? So, anybody have a solution?
  7. Wow, that looks complicated. I think i get it though. In order to do it the easy way you basicly set up a network connection between two computers, then get a connections sharing thing going. Too bad, I was hopeing there was a cheaper, easier way. I guess I will stick to what I have for now. Thanks though for the help.
  8. Got a question, Again. I want to be able to have to monitors, Two keyboards, And two mouses. So that they can be all hooked up to one computer but I can have several users doing different things. But so that I can connect to the internet on the computer and all the users be able to share it at the same time. I have Dial-up. So the question is, If I get another monitor card so I can hook up two monitors will that work? Then there is this thing that you plug it into your computer, and it comes with software and it has several monitor, keyboard, and mouse ports on this thing. Which would work? Thanks.
  9. Ok, I have a question. I take a phone cord that has four of those little gold prongs inside, plug it into the jack in the wall and then strip the other end off. Then I separate the four little prongs into two?s. Then I take two more phone cords. But these ones only have two little prongs each. So I strip one end off each one then take the stripped ends and put the two from one and splice them together with the one that had four, and take the other phone cord that only has two and splice that into the remaining two from the cord that had four. I now have two cords running out of one line that had four little prongs and each of the two now only has two prongs each. So if I take one and plug that into one computer, and take the other and plug that into another computer, Can I connect both at the same time?
  10. I use my computer for talking to my friends, checking my email, playing games, doing school, and posting on trap. I use my computer for everything. I couldn't live without a computer.
  11. Hey great ideas. That is really funny. Although the butter might not always land butter side down. lol. Then you would just have to take a break from laughing and restart. lol
  12. Tigerdirect.com has really great barebone systems for a really reasonable price. They can even come with motherboard + processor, RAM, sometimes a hard drive, and even dvd drives. Sometimes all you need is a monitor. And all there stuff is really cheap. I would check them out if i was you. I have bought some stuff from then before. Very good place.
  13. This is so totally awesom! I am going to download this. I have been wondering how i was going to pay for Vista when it came out but now with this Windows Vista Transformations Pack why pay for a whole new operating system? it is so cool! I am getting this as soon as a can!
  14. well people it is almost june 6. And i don't beleive this malarky. It is stupid. But i will be back on the 6th to prove that nothing will happen. Now i could say a lot more but you wanted to leave the religion out. But i will be back!
  15. I'd say you should be proud of your self. Drinking, not cool. Smoking, not cool. Any kind of drug or alcohol is just not cool. Just ignore them. If you start drinking most likely you won't be able to stop. And then it just fries your liver and you all sorts of problems all your life. Huge medical bills. And think of the money you would have if you didn't. And if you smoke, that is really bad. Then you get lung cancer and die really slowly and painfully. This would would be a better place without all the junk we have come up with. i would say, keep up the good work and never let anyone or anything EVER pressure you into anything. Because you will think back on that day, and it will be worth just saying no.
  16. That is a thing of beauty! I have seen some like it though. You can now get water cooled cases for a couple hundred. ok maybe not a couple but around 300-400 dollars. I would love to build a computer but I have no customers yet.
  17. I would say get grounded and/or surge protection. If that baby gets a surge or something happens you could fry your computer and/or possibly burn your house down. And that would be bad. Do definantlly get a surge strip and if you can ground your room.
  18. That in my opinion is a very good deal for a notebook computer. But i would defently get a Warranty. Desktops don't have very many problems but when you go to a Notebook Computer, things can happen. Because they have to make everything much smaller, things can go wrong easier. I knew someone who got a warrany with their new notebook and it was a good investment. the cd drive went out for no reason right after they got it and it wasn't cheap. But the warrany covered it and they sent a new part out. So i would say that getting a warrany is a must on a notebook. Also you might want to think about an Accidental damage coverage to. So that if you drop it accidentaly of it falls off the table they will fix it. Hope this helps.

    Can't Open Pdf

Hey guys. Guess what? thats right, it is fixed. I tried re-intalling Adobe Acrobat Reader and now I can open PDF just fine. I am still not sure what the problem was but doing the re-install did the trick. Thanks everyone!
  20. Why would that fix it though? Did it erase everthing on there or something? I think i have had enough with the old technology of this computer. I'm getting a new one. As far as the problem with the power supply goes, i'm not sure what is going on there.
  21. I have heard and seen some pictures of this new OS. It is going to be so totaly awesom! I want one when it comes out. but i have a feeling that Vista is going to be more than XP was when it first came out. The new features, the awesome looks, and all the new software that it comes with. I'm drooling! I think that all the computers that have XP will drop in price a lot when Vista come out. I can't wait!
  22. Well thanks for all your help. I think i might just buy stock in apple. I wonder if they are going to start putting both operating systems on there of if you have to do it all you self. It is still really cool.
  23. I have heard that Apple is putting Windows in mac but does anybody know when? I thought this would be a very cool thing if they did this. I have done some researh on the topic but don't know when they are coming out with it. Anynody know?
  24. Well, it would be very cool. But there are some thing that would have to be worked on. How would they get the cable up into outer space? That would be kinda hard. And how fast would this thing go? And how would it propell its self? And if there were lights on it the elevatot would have to be able to go up without hitting them. Very complicated. I don't even want to think about it. But it would be very cool if they ever got it up and working.
  25. You mean its JUST NOW starting? I thought it was over? But i would rather have an earthquake. I just watched a really cool movie called 10.5. It was cool. But back to the point at hand. Is it really just starting?
