how many browsers do you know nowadays that dont have js enabled?Only weird people dont enable js on their browsers, or they do it to tempararily test something.

Alright... Usb 101: Theres only 1 kind of STANDARD usb port. I am sure that every mouse in the world has that kind of usb plug on it. (unless you have an uber-freaky mouse)... are you sure you are not sticking it in upsidedown, and just thinking its too wide? I also am pretty sure, there is no such thing as a firewire mouse, but you may be triying to plug it into a firewire plug accidently... usb is WIDER than firewire. And this brings us to our not so standard USB ports: There are acctualy 3 in total, the standard rectangle shape one, one square one, for large usb powered hardware, such as printers and one really small one for small usb powered hardware, such as cameras. In every case i have ever seen, the only kind of usb port on a computer, is the standard rectangle one, same with the mouse... But if you have some uber-freaky computer, it might have a square usb port on it. There are also many custom shapes usb cables can take the shape of, if the mouse was designed for a particular series of computer, the usb plug MIGHT ACTUALLY BE SMALLER ON THE LAPTOP... i know that sounds supprizing, but i have seen a smaller version of the audio out on a laptop once, only for one kind of addapter. (this was separatae from the headphone jack). Just make sure it has the usb symbol, both on the mouse, and on the computer.

Ever heard of heyos? Very simple, very basic os designing software. Its free! Unfortunatly you can't have any GUI in your os but, its great if you want your computer to do some function, without designating a program. Example, if you own a store, and you want to have all the computers access a database, but not let the database be a program, just show up when the computer loads. It's great. I downloaded it some years ago and cant seem to find it right now to give you a link, but see if you can find it.

What is this for? If it is for forums or somthing, what is the purpose of having mulitple accounts? is it like Xisto where you get credits, and they can send credits to one account? or is it like an online game... theres different rules you can set down, depending on what kind of a site it is, to help prevent multi-accounts...

Wow... that was internesting. I was mainly waiting for a responce in this post, but alot of other posts, in which i would then reply and get more hosting credits. I watched my hosting credits go from 3 days to .98 days. Oh well.... anyawy I still need help on this issue... does this mean nobody knows how to do it, or they did not understand my question? Does anybody know anything about flash at all? I need to have flash access a database somewhere without it refreshing the page it is currently on, (this will bug the users, and slow down the flash file, because IT will be refreshing too if i refresh the page it is on)... I am assuming that is how they made this, but im not sure. If anyone knows how to make an avatar chat like that i need to know... My main reason for this is because im working on a project in flash, where someone's x and y positions need to be sent to everyone else viewing, that way i can make a way for players to move around, and see others move around... Is it possible to send the iformation the same way you would send text messsages in a chat room? if so, how? Any help would be appreciated!

Can anyone help me out with a flash file externaly refreshing an html page, and gathering information from a database there, without the user seeing this. This means the loading bar on the page the flash is on CANNOT be loading.I need to make an avatar chat, so when you move around it shows up on other people's computers.P.S. If any admins see this post, can you please create an action script subform?

not if the contet is more than the time it takes to load the page... who cares when it starts counting... If it has to be like 5 secconds after it loads, then you can make it like 6 or 7...

make the application/document on the cd search its own path, if it is on the same cd, then have it search a protection hidden file, this does not show up and you cant make it unhide it. This way, if someone tries to coppy it on another cd, it wont lauch.

javascript is almost as basic as html... after you learn that, it is a great starting point for other programing languages. After learning javascript php will be simple. There are TONS of javascript pages out there to help you get started.
