Ooo topic title "hello world"? Could we possibly have another programer here? If so you will fit right in... If you're not I'm sure you'll fit in just fine anyway Anyway welcome to trap! I see you have been greeted already by the unofficial trap welcomer.... Mich is always so enthusiastic to welcome all of our new members. But you will mainly see me around the programing and computer sections of the board. When I'm not locked away with my computer I am posting in those sections on trap... Actually I need my computer to post on trap so I'm basically on the computer 24/7...

Ability For Non-hosted Members To Award Credits.
galexcd replied to galexcd's topic in Web Hosting Support
Also, I think if this is instated, non-hosted members shouldn't have to have at least 30 credits to transfer them seeing as there is no hosting account to accidently lose by sending too many. -
Well yes, if the image is on your server, and its a php image, it can run some scripts to activate the account if the image is viewed. This is how a lot of spam bots get your email. They send out pictures on their servers with variables such as the email address it was sent to in the url, and then it knows if you are a real live person or not.

Alright well I've got google notifier on my mac and it works great, so I decided to install it on my windows partition as well. Well I am having problems with the windows version (Surprised?). Anyway the problem is that it doesn't remember my username and password. The mac version stores my account username and password in the mac keychain, but the windows version prompts me for my account username and password every time I start up the computer. It completely defeats the purpose of the notifier. If anyone knows how to have it store the username and password, that would be great.

Hooray! Science Fiction. My favorite! Would you possibly be a firefly fan? (firefly=best show in the world if you didn't know), or are you only into books? Anyway its nice to see more members around.

Hmm.. I voted no because I don't think it can, but now I'm thinking about it.... What are dreams really? Well they are controlled by your subconscious. Well what if your subconscious decided to get creative and kill you? It has that kind of control, I just don't think it does it. You can't live without your subconscious... But I don't know if that's ever happened... and if it has I doubt its called "your dream killing you".... more like your subconscious killing you... Interesting topic though.

Ability For Non-hosted Members To Award Credits.
galexcd replied to galexcd's topic in Web Hosting Support
Actually I was correct. I can't find the post at the moment but opaque said that hosted members get less credits per word or something like that... -
Ok, I know I still haven't gotten you your 25 credits, but I forgot about the whole thing where you need to have 30 credits or more when sending so I've been working hard on getting those credits for you. As of now I have 15 in my bank. Still working on the other 15 for you.

I'm not entirely sure but if my calculations are correct, if you're killed you've lost your life... not just a part.... Anyway it's not that easy for most people to quit. Nicotine is addictive. If you give your body some on a regular basis and then stop you will actually get sick. It's a hard habit to quit. It's like trying to lose wait by not eating anything. After a few days of i you will crack and eat all the food you can.

As I already mentioned in the other topic, OpaQue has resolved one of the two reasons I am still hosted, but he has yet to address the second. I would love it if non-hosted members are able to award credits. Now I understand why it is disabled, because they gain credits faster than hosted members, but you could put some kind of conversion tax on it so it balances out. I wouldn't mind. I just feel like I'm wasting a credit a day on nothing. The only reason I still have my site is so I can give out credits :PSo anyway, what do you say? Just the ability to transfer credits to our bank and then award them for non-hosted members would be great for me.

Moola.com Make Money Playing Games Free to join, make money playing games
galexcd replied to Aneka's topic in Business Forum
The reason most likely is that whoever the admin or mod who gave you the warning probably thought you were giving away referral links in your PM?s not invitation links. You should talk to whoever did this to you and explain that you don?t get ?credit? for these invites, rather people can?t join without your invitation code. The mod that did that should really pay closer attention in the future. -
Saint Michael Vs. Frakture - Voting

You fail at counting... 1+1+1+1=4 not 3... What are you talking about? The head of the dragon is way sharper than SM's. It is kind of blurry on the border of the sig but I assume that's an effect. -
You mean bbcodes in the email itself? Well you would have to use a function to parse the bbcode into html such as preg_replace, and then use the headers in the mail function to allow html in the email. For parsing bbcode you should learn regular expressions if you want to be able to do this efficiently. Here is an example of parsing the bold bbcode tag into html: preg_replace(array("/\[b\]/","/\[\/b\]/"),array("/<b>/","/<\/b>/"),$input); And for the headers add this: MIME-Version: 1.0\r\nContent-type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1\r\n

Just A Quick Post Of My Pictures a couple quick photographs
galexcd replied to rejected's topic in Photography
These are very interesting photographs. Very artistic I must say. I am no good at taking or recognizing good "artistic" photographs but I did really enjoy the second one in that group. The focusing is awesome. I love how sharp the picture is in the center and how out of focus it is around the edges. It's just neat. -
Just kind of curious, are you both sharing the same account? That is actually a pretty cool idea as long as one of you doesn't do something stupid to get ya both banned Anyway welcome to trap. Also, I'm wondering, what blizz games your clan plays on.

Saint Michael Vs. Frakture - Voting
galexcd replied to Saint_Michael's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
I think I'm going to go with FraKture, just to break the precedent. Actually on closer inspection, I find his to be more detailed. I can see every little detail in the dragon's face and I love the little sparkles around it. Saint Michael's just looks kind of soft. -
Like jlhaslip said there are many tutorials of doing this, and if you need help getting basic sql syntax you can always do a google search and therefore I'll give a quick overview of how to do what you want. First you'll want to set up a database of useres. So make a new table called "users" and make 5 varchars: Username First name Last name email Captcha You can make the lengths of these whatever you feel would be appropriate. Now make a varchar for the password length 32 (if you want to use md5 encryption). Now the way I would make the captcha is by making a separate table called captcha and have the following fields: IP captcha Now to actually make the dynamic captcha image itself you will have to know a bit about Php GD library. If you follow that link, however, you should get all the info you need to make one. Now here is the basic login functionality explained: When you login, php first finds the username that matches from the rows in the database, then it encrypts the password you gave it and checks that against the encrypted password in the database, if it is a match then it generates a new session and makes a cookie on the users computer with that session on it. Whenever you navigate a page, it looks up that session id against the server and lets you view the content. Now for the captcha. Whenever that dynamic image is viewed, look up the row with the user's IP address and give it a new random captcha, or if the users IP doesn't exist then make a new row, and display the captcha. Then when registering make sure the captcha entered is the same as the one in the database. If it is a match then you're good!

Wow this is quite a project you've got here. If I were actually going to write out the code to do this it would be very long, but I can go over a basic overview with a few examples of how I would make something like this... Alright, so first of all you want php to remember functions and variables. So let's go with your example of parameter. The easiest way to write a function syntax is P(a)=4a So let's have your php program recognize that syntax. I would highly advise you to use a preg_match for this unless you want to be parsing strings all day. So just an example of how your php code could recognize a function: $input=$_GET['input'];if(preg_match('/[A-Z]\([a-z]\)=/',$input)){//$input is a function!}else{//$input is not a function, or may be formatted incorrectly} Alright, so you wanted your users to set many different functions. We'll put this code in a loop in a bit but to prepare for that let's make each function have its own variable so we can store the data from the function. I will do this with a preg_split. The variable will also start with "func_" so that we don't confuse our function variables from regular variables we are using. $input=$_GET['input'];if(preg_match('/[A-Z]\([a-z]\)=/',$input)){//$input is a function!$split=preg_split('/\([a-z]\)=/',$input);${"func_".strtolower($split[0])}=$split[1];} And let's not forget about that parameter, it will be important later so go ahead and start a new group of variables starting with "param_" to store these in. $input=$_GET['input'];if(preg_match('/[A-Z]\([a-z]\)=/',$input)){//$input is a function!$split=preg_split('/\([a-z]\)=/',$input);${"func_".strtolower($split[0])}=$split[1];${"param_".strtolower($split[0])}=$input[2];echo $param_f;} Now you would do the same thing for variables just take out the parameter part. Alright so now that you've got function and variable definition set, lets put them to use. There would be two parts to this, one would be getting the answer to a function when calling it with a number as a parameter, and the other would be calling it with a variable as a parameter. Now lets make a check to see if somebody called the function with a number: if(preg_match('/[A-Z]\([0-9]{?}\)=/',$input)){ and if so evaluate the function with all instances of that variable swapped out. WARNING: DO NOT FORGET TO PARSE OUT THE SEMICOLON OR YOUR USERS COULD DO MAJOR DAMAGE TO YOUR WEBSITE! f(preg_match('/[A-Z]\([0-9]{?}\)=/',$input)){return eval(str_replace(array(";",${"param_".strtolower($input[0])}),array("",substr($input,2,strpos(")")-2))),${"func_".strtolower($input[0])}));} and for evaluating the function if somebody calls it with a variable would be the same except instead of substr($input,2,strpos(")")-2) put in the variable name of the variable they inserted. So probably something like this: ${"vars_".strtolower($input[2])} Alright, so now what I would do is put this all into a function and make all of the variables and functions global. Then for every line of math that this php page takes in, run the function for it. So now your page should successfully be able to do this: Again, none of this code was tested by me yet so if you have any errors just post em up here. P.S. I would suggest writing my own evaluation function rather that using eval, for security reasons and so if people enter variables into the function that aren't passed in the parameters they don't get an error.
