I coded the entire app myself (I don't have that kind of money to spend ). As for where I learned how to develop apps, I read some tutorials online and tried some sample apps. If you could download my app and give me some feedback, I would really appreciate it. Try looking here to get started: https://developer.android.com/index.html

My algorithm takes into account the total distance between all addresses. It is basically an implementation of the Traveling Salesman problem.

So it's winter break for me and I thought I would make the most out of it it. I developed an Android app called Chauffeur. Basically, if you have a route (errands/delivery route), you can put all the addresses into Chauffeur and it will tell you the fastest way to complete it and come back home . I have a trial version and a paid version. In the trial version, you can add up to 5 addresses and in the paid one, it is unlimited. There are no ads in either one since I personally would have found them annoying. Here are some pictures

You should try contacting them again. I have been using Cashle for awhile and I have redeemed prizes as well as withdrawn money to paypal. I can post pictures of them if you don't believe me.

Cashle is a great way to earn some side money. By completing offers, among other things(games, lottery,..etc), you can earn some money that you can either withdraw directly or buy a gift from Amazon. Now, if you are looking over on how to complete offers and thinking, Wow, that sounds like a lot of work, not to worry. There are other ways to earn money. Cashle has about 3-4 games that you can play. And if you win, you can earn points (100 points = $1) Cashle also has a game called Number Limbo (my favorite). You, along with the rest of Cashle, guesses a number (between 1-10,000) And at 1 am EST, the 5 lowest unique numbers win the jackpot. The jackpot usually ranges from 5,000 points to 15,000. Another way to earn points is by the lottery. When you complete offers or post on the forums, you can get lottery tickets. And every week (around Wednesday), you can earn points based on how many of your tickets match. And if no one wins the jackpot (all 6 six numbers match), then the jackpot is raised by 1,000 points. I talk more about cashle on my site: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

Welcome to Xisto. Hope you enjoy your stay here.

I really don't see what the problem is. Are you insecure with the fact that he has millions of girls swooning over him and you don't? And his "gay voice"? Really? I don't see why everyone hates him so much. In my opinion, a bunch of people are just jumping on the "I hate Bieber" bandwagon. I personally have not heard his music and I don't plan to. But that doesn't mean I just blindly start trashing him.

Tell Us Which Database You Use Mostly which one you prefer
Vistz replied to yordan's topic in Programming
What you say is true. However, the company that I am getting hosting from has MySQL databases. Also, as you said about the concurrent connections, I don't plan on having more than 5,000 connections at the same time. -
If you Google search "cheap VPS", I'm sure you'll be able to find one that is a reasonable price. I personally have found several. Of course, you'll have to read the reviews to make sure that the service is reliable. But other than that, you should be ok. Remember, Google is your friend.

Did anyone watch the Golden Globes a few days ago. If you did, then you probably saw Ricky Gervais' monologue. That was the funniest thing ever. Here's a link to it if you didn't get a chance to see it:http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

I've been experimenting with different browsers and I've come to enjoy Arora and SeaMonkey as well. I noticed that Google Chrome leaks memory like anything and Firefox is starting to get clunky. Arora and SeaMonkey are both simple and lightweight.

This sort of thing pisses me off. But you have to look at it from the standpoint of the software developers. When you're working in a time where your job is not guaranteed, you have to make sure that you don't get replaced. What better way to do so than to make sure you're the only person who can "solve the problems" that the company encounters. Of course, as a software developer, there's always going to be someone better than you, as is with any profession. So in order to make your job secure, you have to make sure that said person can't get involved with your projects. And that's where code obfuscation comes in handy. By making your code unclear or hard to read, you ensure that the other person can't join your project. This is a dirty trick and I despise anyone who uses it. Granted there are existential circumstances but that doesn't mean you have to block someone else's opportunity to excel in the work environment.

Youtube Is Dying copyrights copywrongs
Vistz replied to imjjss's topic in Websites and Web Designing
The videos are being removed because they violate the TOS that Youtube specifies. But as for Youtube "dying", it's not. -
You could always use JDBC.

If you log in here : https://support.xisto.com/cart.php?gid=5 then it gives you list of the different VPS plans they offer. For more information, you can open a support ticket. I am also planning on getting a VPS but that might take awhile given how many myCents I have currently.

Which Is The Cool Desktop? KDE Or Gnome?
Vistz replied to arunkumarhg's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I prefer Gnome. It's a lot simpler and it is slightly less resources intensive. -
What Is The Future Of Operating Programs? What will the new direction be?
Vistz replied to inea's topic in Operating Systems
Well seeing as how Vista was almost complete crap, Microsoft managed to redeem themselves with Windows 7. I personally feel that operating systems are moving towards an open source market. -
I don't really have one. I just open up Pandora and hope a song comes up that I can play along with on my guitar
-
Another way to just try out Linux is to use a Live CD. Linux will run off of the CD and when you're done, just eject the CD and go back to your old operating system.

I haven't changed it... Maybe you were sleeping?

Well the application is programmed in Java. As for the framework, I did in fact use the Android SDK. Since this was my first app, it took a little while getting used to the style of coding but I was able to finish this application in a little over a week.

Hey guys. I'm currently on break and I got bored the other day so I decided to make an Android application. It's basically an element converter. For example: you can choose 2 moles of Oxygen. After pressing convert, you will have 2 moles of Oxygen converted in grams and atoms. The application is free to download off of the Android Market. The name of the application is "Element Converter" and it has the Gold symbol (Au) as its icon. I would love it if you guys could download it and give me some feedback on it. Here is a screenshot from the application:
