Nowdays the milk that we get home is full of pus and hormones and antibiotics. I have now stopped taking milk in tea and reduced my milk consumption due to the dairy industries inhuman treatment of cows and the amount of antibiotics they inject in the poor cows system to produce more milk. Not to mention the amount of adulterants that are put in the milk especially in India that is scrwing up our system ! I get pimples when I drink milk and when i Stop they vanish. sciencenets I am not at all surprised that junk food manufacturers do put certain chemicals in their junk food for people to come back to buy the same thing again and again. MSG is one of them and most of these things make people crave the junk food. Even Maggi has MSG.. all created to make people more and more dependant on their products which are neither nutritious nor that tasty and nor enviornment freindly !

Clearly monotheism defined by the Abrahmic religions is not monotheism but I would call it cult Worship. Monothesim is for the ultimate reality which we call in Hinduism Brahman. It is has no attributes no description and of course it has no voice that comes through a light etc Brahman is IT IS. An Example would be : when you are sitting on a park bench and seeing a ant crawl and you get engrossed in it's activities and forget time etc .. that is the sort of Brahman. Just there. There is no going in or going out of Brahman it is always existed and yet never existed also. Manifestations of BRahman are seen everywhere but Brahman has no attributes. The God of Abrahamic religions is a demi God because it hasnt talked about Karma and many other higher points of this universe which a final God would be expected to say. SO then why is that such other non - christian people are put into the strict scrutiny of Archaelogy and Jesus is exists even though not a single shred of evidence has been found if he existed ? Do you agree based on your logic that books are historically written are proof enough of a person then do you belive that Lord Krishna existed ? It is about which side you are . Since you dont have a good argument for Jesus to have existed you say that majority of what are myths are history. yes i also totally agree to Opaque that we live in age of information from the information frame of reference. One can also say we are living also in age of pollution becoz pollution levels are so high in cities , soil , water , rivers etc .. that we may say we are living in the age pollution.therefore i belive the frame of reference is important to give an objective meaning to the question.

You have asked the fundamental question : what is you ? . If one says You is your body and mind then we have answered it from a materialistic point of view which sees matter as different entities. But when looked from the Vedantic point of view it is a deception created by the self or God or nature to fool us to belive it. The ultimate realisation comes with the concept of self dissolving which gives a lof happiness. That is why we have surrender to God terms etc . All of them trying the Self /Ego to belive that you are not the self but there is something that is more than one self and has to be submitted to. Of course this is the Dual perspective of Self. In the oneness perspective , Self is no different than You or there is No I and YOU. Everything is You and that is the ultimate state of Bliss and Truth.

Ok I get it web_designer... it is odd and found such a thing happening first time. Could you read the article and what have you got to say of this ? the spill keeps happening but think of the billions of tonnes of smoke that is spurned out everyday by USING these fuels. Noone talks about them as it has become "normal " and "essential". I personally would laugh at the few little drops of poison being put in the ocean compared to the huge drums of same poison being burned day and night to keep humans comfy at homes ! Fossil fuel is a black evil for earth and black gold for a few hungry and greedy humans.

From archaelogical point of view , Jesus doesnt exist. This is the logic applied to all so called Mythologies. Jesus is no exception.Ashoka the great was considered to be a mythical figure till the british found the iron pillar and many other edicts with his name and charateristics and hence he is now a historical figure.Jesus Doesnt have any archaelogical evidence to prove that he existed. Most of the so called reliable sources of Jesus are the Gospels or the Bible wbut which have been written by belivers. With belivers , things can become nastyas they tend not to see logic but are based on faith on Jesus. The Gospels too were composed 300 yrs later than Jesus died. And that too Jesus is so recent in history and still no proof of him makes one think why are the archaelogical remains associated with him buried or did he really not exist. As for me , I think he existed but unless archaeolgical evidence is found , i dont think any society /humanshould accept the Historical Jesus. One cant have separate laws for Western mythology and eastern ones.

I think it would depend upon it's nature. Sun is fiery and like a rider which has male characteristics. The moon being nimble and gracious and easy to look gives it a feminish outlookOfcourse many like in hinduism consider moon to be a God and hence male.In the deeper sense , in every person there are qualities of both and still some which they dont share also.Also in hinduism , all Gods and Goddesses are taken as pairs of individuals which makes them unity.For me the moon and sun and all are both. Nothing is black or white or male or female in the sphere of logic but when looked artistically .. mmm .. would go with moon being female and sun being male

Yes that seems true as it means discipline and the power of will or our aims that we follow up with actions. Literal meaning has to be discipline.

I feel one can live anywhere and can call it heaven. It is upto the same person. Ofocurse there are conditions to be happy : Like nature , good water and good friends and good food. But all of this is subjective as a person's nature decides what kind of happiness he/she needs. A person would imagine to be a place with river streams and nice flowers around and nothing to worry about or one may take heaven as nice home facing the sea and being with a family always happy and enjoying without much to worry and earn. It depends upon the person and hence it is subjective but some basic conditions are needed for the person like clean environment/nature etc to make one feel happier and in turn go towards heaven . What is heaven .. nothing but a state of mind where all seems blissful.

Baba Ramdev seems to be talking about Indian politics. He is entering Politics too and going to contest 2014 elections through his followers. He himself will not be contesting as he is a baba heheh. But when we have someone like him taking a bold step to be part of politics , i belive there is hope. He is doing all the right moves , he is on TV , getting youth involved , having many ayurvedic products in the market , teaching Yoga for free to millions for free. He is attacking this evil system where it needs to be punched the most. I hope he gets sucess and he does what he says !

@Thomas : What you are experiencing is normal. After a few weeks of exercise , the muscles start building up and the body tries to store more fat as it " believes " thatit is in dire situation and hence need to store more fats. Keep going with the routine. I used to do 15mins running but now being a lazy boy and do more parallel bar and SuryaNamaskar. Shall run tomorrow morning !!
