Recently I got a video about Tom's Hardware where the tested out P4 processors with the AMD ones. This is what I saw,TEST GAME : Quake 3 Arena.The game was started and the heatsink was removed from the processor. After a couple of seconds, AMD got burnt and also screwed up the processor. But gave peak performance until it finally commited suicide.INTEL machine got switched off.. Possible hanged! Motherboard. Performance went on decreasing until it finally went off to sleep.So, what do you think?

The last thread i had posted was about the underclocking the processor, as said by Cloak it can be done. So I assume it makes the computer run slow, as well as also prevents it from getting heated up (except when the load is Full). But there are still many ways to cool the processor without using the HARDWARE cooling devices.. most of them are like, programs which claim can cool the processor. What do you think, do they really work? Can they screw up something ? Some say that those are not recommended?I have heard of Waterfall. It is also a small program which can cool the processor. and those are also like dependent upon the model number of your processor and stuff. I had used them once , but I did not notice a big diffrence.May be the people at Tom's hardware can prove it out

Have you heard of GAIM. It is one thing that can connect to MSN, Yahoo, IRC, ICQ, AIM and one more thing that I cant remember. And it is cool, compatible. Also has a windows version. Quite advanced and fast. Unlike Trillian, it does not have limitations. I have seen that many specific tasks like filesharing are not working properlyin trillian.

I tried using it too, but I got so many programs in that only run in windows and even while using stuff which make it possible for running windows applications in Linux , The performance was not good enough. So, I am now sticking with Linux. However, there are many features in Linux that are quite impressive and beat Windows. Eg. You can do anything in Linux, You can modify it in whatever way you wantt to suit you... this is not the case with windows. hehe..

I usually keep my PC on for 24/7 and most of the time this damn things remains IDLE. I was wondering if PC's could be underclocked. Well, if It could then may be it can help the processor to be cool, consume less power as well as increase the life of the processor too.But I haven't heard anywhere of UNDERclocking as such, just a question.

In the FTP controls, you can make up a seperate login ID and password for that directory so that you can give it to your users. The user will be able to login to that directory by that userid and password. However, he cannot alter or even see files at the parent directory level. So, the FTP restricts his access to that directory only. Another Note : You cannot create seperate Cpanel logins. It is not recommended for you to give out the cpanel userid and password openly or share it. If you do it, then you might lose everything. giving it is like giving out the complete control of your domain. so better be careful with it.

I don't know much about those, but Currently , I am using Windows XP w/ Service Pack 2 and it usually asks me to unblock or Block a port whenever it encounters any such things. For some applications, I unblocked the port and they are all running successfully.For messengers, I recommend GAIM. It can connect to everything simultaneously.
