5th Generation Ipod!

Recommended Posts

The neew ipod. I think that the ipod is a good invention but what is the point in making it so that you can watch vidio's. Someones bound to get run over watching a vidio because they wont be looking where there going so they will walk on to the road and get run over. Im perrfectly happy with my mp3 even though the other day i cracked the screen on it so i cant really see anything but its still working. But you know the little clicker thing on them that allows you to change the songs and move around, well thats kind of broke because most of the time it dosen't work. And i did the same with my dads mp3 and i cracked the screen, but for christmas ive got my dad an mp3 so it should be ok now. Even though his old one was 500 and summat mb ive got him an 128mb so thats a bit of a problem. But ny way back to the subject of the 5th generation ipod!! So who else out there would get this or not get it. I wouldnt get it because i dont want it.

Well, As You Know I Haven't Heard Any Soild Things On This. It Would Cost Alot To Put Moives On A IPod From ITunes. Even If You Were Willing To Pay For It, It would Take For Ever To DownLoad To Your Computer Than To Your IPod. So I Really Don't Think They Well BeComing Out With This Inless They Can Find A Way To Compress The Moive Files To Fit On A Ipod. I Know Ipods Can Hold Like 8 GB Of Space, Still Thats What Two Moives And No Music. As Of Now I Believe The Nao Is The Best IPod Out And I Am Looking Forword To Buying It Seeing As It Has 4 GB Of Space. Thats Almost 4 Times The Space Your Dad Had, So The Etra Moneys Pays Off. Also I Know You Can Put Images On Your IPod.... As Of Now If YoU Want Moives, Games And MP3s Get A Sony PSP. Has All Because It Runs Disk Not On A HardDrive For Moives.Well This IS My Side O The Story See Yeah!

well... the psp is great for that sort of thing... but if ur a HUGE music person like i am... 128 megs in NO WHERE CLOSE to what i need... id like 40 gigs for my music and movies... the ipod is cool because of its look, storage capabiltiy and small size, and especially that scroll touchwheel thing... thatd be the only thing thatd make me choose the ipod over anything else... but as for videos... the original ipod could play videos if u got the hack for it... but the problem is still... the cost of these things... if u can put a normal movie or whatever on the new ipod (convert from avi/wmv to the itunes format... thatd be pretty cool but there is something better for this... im not sure what the new ipod looks like... if its the same or not but there is something that has good storage and a NICE screen... i forget what its called but itll run u about $500... but if u have the $$... its worth it if ur a media freak and u travel... so... how much does the new ipod cost? thats the only disadvantage to the ipod other than the stupid copy protected itunes... I HATE IT! they will never stop piracy.. they might as well stop trying... and i hate anything that makes a new format for something when it doesnt need to be... thats also y i hate word and would rather use wordpad unless i need to use word for formatting, etc... Y MAKE A NEW FORMAT? ok... thats my rant... lol... but as for the ipod 5... if u have the money and dont hate apple... go for it...

Actually...The speed of the data transfers for the IPod are as fast as can be using USB... It's about 1.5mbps to an IPod. Thats how much I get on my external HDD...So transfering stuff to the IPod shouldn't be a problem...I think it would be pretty cool to have an IPod that shows movies/videos...But I wouldn't really use that future I think. Plus it would use a lot of battery. The IPod's battery life now isn't that good so...That much be a disadvantage ^_^

I will not be buying the 5th gen until Apple realizes they were morons for not releasing it with firewire support. All iPods until now have had firewire support, so why does this one not? Also, for the person who said Nanos are a great value, try thinking through that again. For $50 more you could be buying 30 gigs worth of space. I have a 40 gig Photo and I use it for not only music, but holding documents and program files. You could never do that with a Nano. There just is not enough space.

i think it's nice it can support videos, now but i really don't see a point in it, i mean mac is transforming the iPod in a mini computer or some kind of media computer, it's cool in some way but wasn't the concept of iPod to be a mp3? i mean just music? (im not vs the new video thingie in fact i see it very cool o?o) but i just hope that they still be making the old models because in this moment i dont want to pay what, 500-700 dlls to get this new model <,< so how much would the older ones would cost now o_??

as someone says, more feature the merrier, I guess Ipod is maximizing the potential of their product so if this is appplicable for someone then it's all good, we'll never know next generation will have cameras on them. For me I think I have to pass on this, I do have my MP3 player which pretty perform what it is suppose to do, as for storage, my external hard drive will handle that well too

hmm.... im still not sure what to get for an mp3 player. The ipod nano is probly what will convince me to actually purchase an ipod. My brother has a rio and its alot cheaper than all these other mp3 players and its not like you need a 60 gigs worth of songs.

First of all, those of you that say the 5th gen ipod should have firewire support just dont know the facts. When transfering data to an IPod, USB2 is just as quick as firewire as shown by numerous reports. Just google it if you dont believe me.Secondly, those of you who are saying that video is good but what is the point is that if you travel alot (subways, planes, etc) it is nice and handy to be able to watch a movie or tv show at your convience. It makes trips much easier.

IPod is one of the most beautiful inventions of this new millenium. I like it even better than the new generation - walkman by Sony. There are now plenty of new models of iPod imitators, but only one iPod.

Apple rules, that is quite simple, there are no excuses for us to avoid the use of this fabolous invention.

Cheers!!!! :P

I'm excited to hear about the lasest generation of iPods that can play videos. If you see yourself watching videos on it on a regular basis, then this new iPOd is worth every penny (or yen, where I live). On the other hand, it's also nice to cater to customers who just want to listen to the music and nothing else - this is where the Shuffle and the nano come in. All the same, the iPOds just seem to be getting better with each new model/generation. I looking forward to what Apple will come up with next.

Ipod is certainly a nice product but I would not rate it as one of the MOST beautiful invention on this Millenium, I am not also that sure that they are the first to release an MP3 player (i highly doubt they are), hence we cannot say they are the one who invented it.But yes they are a good device to have with.

An iPod isn't really much more than an mp3 player with a fancy name, small size, many generations, and more publicity and advertising campaigns than you can shake a stick at.

I also read somewhere that you could install linux on iPods?I don't know the details-- I didn't read on because I saw that it supported newer iPods. Mine's a iPod Mini.Well, mp3s use a lot of processing power because it's a small file, the iPod has to decrypts it while reading... So it uses alot of battery too. I'd assume that playing .wav files uses less energy, but, then, the iPod would have to access more storage and that would use more energy too...Well anyway, i think that it's great that iPods can run linux on them--They must be fast :)
