Stij.exe - Anyone Has This Running On Their System?

Recommended Posts

I've uninstalled Incredibar, and removed the jmdp folder while in safe mode but it keeps coming back and running from startup. Malware scanners won't pick it up. I can't get rid of it. Please if anyone has had this problem and solved it, let me know! I'm close to reinstalling the OS

Apparently uninstalling Incredibar was not enough. I had to uninstall the updater that came with it also before I finally managed to remove it. It hasn't come back since.

Do you remember which was the name of that updater coming with Incredibar?

Came across this while doing research on stij.exe, figured I'd throw in what I learned for ya.

The thing is indeed related to Incredibar/Incredimail. I don't ever recall giving either of those my consent to be installed, but I didn't really care as it didn't bug me. But stij.exe came with an interesting problem. Whenever stij.exe was running, any game I played would have a strange annoyance. Whenever you would move the mouse (i.e. look around ingame) fps would drop dead to 0. I thought it was a videocard problem or something, at first, but figured out it was stij.exe. I didn't want to delete it quite yet, not knowing what it was, so I kept it around and used ProcessLasso to keep it from automatically restarting. Eventually, I got tired of it 'terminating successfully' and taking up room in the log--So, I just deleted all of it, and incredibar. All's well and good now.
