yordan 10 Report post Posted December 7, 2010 These kind of hostings are not provided here. When you sign your hosting contract, you accept that We do not tolerate any of the following sites: 1. File Storage, Image Hosting, Data Sharing, video sharing etc. 2. Stealing or Copying materials on the web 3. Proxy Sites 4. Incentive based Online programs including pay 2 click, auto surf etc.Not respecting these rules can lead to the hosting account termination.
mahesh2k 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2010 I can't help you about things like warez, piracy hosting etc. But i can help you to point to some of the programs with which you can build a website. Mozilla composer - this program will let you build simple HTML files and that you can use to upload to host on asta or any other host. This is free program that let's you build website.NVU - this is also one free software which you can use to build websites. These websites can be uploaded using FTP program to host.About your way of using images or other things to upload and build site. I think you need CMS to do all this dirty task on web. You can use drupal, joomla and wordpress depending on what you like to carry these tasks. I prefer wordpress as it lets me customize website the way i want. imjjss 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2010 I think you can upload files to microsoft SkyDrive, then, post links on your free website. 25G storage should be big enough and you can sign up some more accounts. The only problem is that the links to the files on SkyDrive keeps changing. I read from some articles saying how to code the link to make it catch up with the change. I don't remember where's the article, but you sure can find it via google search. mahesh2k 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2010 Problem with skydrive is that there is file size limitation like any other file storage sites. If i'm not wrong then file size is limited to 5MB for individual files, storage is 25GB though which makes it huge. Also looking at the way things are getting shutdown by big sites - delicious etc. I think it's not safe to host on sites like msn or yahoo anymore. Other than links changing there is also one more problem - bandwidth. There is a limit on how much you can share or download files from the skydrive repository. After that limit you can't get bandwidth for that month and have to wait for next month to start from scratch bandwidth again.
imjjss 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2010 (edited) oh, I didn't know the bandwidth limitation. That's a smart control. No fun, then.Sorry for my lacking of information-- What do you mean by "things are getting shutdown by big sites" ? Any hot talks in the ongoing trends? mahesh2k 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2010 Yes. Yahoo is shutting down many of it's services like - delicious and other storage networks services, altavista will be merged into yahoo as well. Not sure if they are keeping answers alive. These days many big corp sites are not reliable when it comes to data storage so my answer reflected for skydrive as well.By comparing this i can tell you that if not maintained with advertising there are chances that many such free services will be shut down. Who knows what will happen to skydrive if they don't put ads on it ?
grim reaper1666 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2010 if you are really bothered about hosting files use 4shared that allows you to host big files and i believe doesn't have really small file size limitations. it will have some but you just host your files in part rars (which when the extract the first one automatically extract the others) which will give you easier hosting over your files. i suppose if you wanted to have a megaupload premium account you could in theory have adverts on your website on each of the links pages (banners not annonying surveys). then at first you use a free account and then eventually once you start earning enough from the ads you buy premium. also if you were earning enough you could easily buy a better website package on xisto which means they get that little bit more profit and you get more bandwidth and such. Atomic0 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2011 I think the topic started was intending to find a web design / development program, and not web hosting. The only programs I can think of is Apple iWeb (free with Mac OS X - http://www.apple.com/mac/) or Realmac Rapidweaver (also Mac only - http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/), which is designed to allow code-free creation of websites. For Windows, there are no equivalents of the same calibre and features, although there are simple ones like CoffeeCup Visual Site Designer (http://www.coffeecup.com/designer/). Unfortunately, there are in reality a lack of WYSIWYG editors anymore as coding a website in HTML and CSS has become much easier and more straightforwards. grim reaper1666 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2011 with advertising on a website if i got it would there be a way to link say half the profits to my xisto account? and if you are really bothered about file hosting just use external links and then people just click your links there that link them to a location say on megaupload where you have your file.
