Free & Pretty Good Web-Design Templates theyre pretty good

Recommended Posts

Over the years (that make me sound old) I have complied some pretty good LEGAL template website. The templates on there are pretty good and best of all, they're free! YAY. The templates are way better then the free ones that you have googled in and turn up with the results. Here they are

http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ <----------------------they have adobe photoshop templates, html templates, and even some logos.

/legacy <------------Here are some more, some are free, they're pretty good, but others you have to pay for.

http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ <----------------------nice site, with plenty of free ones and templates that you have to pay for. Nice and professional looking

http://www.templatehunter.com/ <---------go to free templates to take you to free templates

http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ <-------------this is one of my favorites, tons of free templates and they all look really good

I'll post some more when I find some

Wow thanks! I haven't started my site yet so these should be very useful. I especially liked freshtemplates.com and notemplates.com. Both look like they have really good content.

Actually, the best way is to make you own :P But I know it's really hard for beginners. About a year ago I wasn't able to make a decent web page, but I didn't use templates. I went with the ugly design, and improved it all the time. Yes, I did download templates, but only to learn more about web design. Just be patient and make what you can. You will anyhow need a lot of time to develop a good web site, so why not spend one year on web design? It's worth it, because if you perfect your skills you can charge it just like that. An average web site with average design and 10 html pages - $100. And it's done in a week.

To end with, the first Google result when searching for "free templates": https://www.freewebtemplates.com/

These are some great sites. I like seeing sites that give you templates, and it's a great way of building your first site, or just finding out how to create a certain layout for your site.

I don't use templates myself, and don't think I will do, but I am creating some websets to distribute on my site when I get it up and running. If you want some cool websets/templates, you should try visiting MoonGraphics. The site is by Donna Louise Maria de Leeuw, and she has some fantastic designs available as linkware or purchaseware. Just go to Layouts in the nav bar at the top under Linkware or Purchaseware, and take a look. She also has some pretty funky adoptables, banner templates and signatures, so it's definitely worth checking out.

Rebecca x :D

PS I am in no way affiliated with the site I mentioned, so just take it as a happy little recommendation!

Another good website is http://clantemplates.com/

They have mostly gaming templates but they also have a default section with random kind of templates. They have a pay section as well... They also offer clip art in case you want to do some photoshopping of your own. I use them a lot because when I make websites I tend to make gaming ones haha

Templates can be very useful and easy, however I still recommend creating your own, using some kind of base if not writing it from scratch. I would still be considered a "beginner" I think, but I am much more comfortable with using templates and programs like FrontPage now that I've chalked up some of my own HTML in Notepad. Just get the basics down, you know?I'm just saying I don't recommend templates for complete beginners- learn your way around HTML first. Of course, lots of people probably already knew that.

Yes, beginners MUST learn first HTML, it would help in many ways, especially when you work with software like FRONTPAGE, DREAMWEAVER and alike, that include a lot of extra and unnecessary HTML code, now, with the use of templates you can achieve easily and quickly very good results but always you must edit your HTML code, and sometimes this templates are a bit difficult to edit.

BTW, i still use my text editor -editplus- to make quick changes to my work.
