Coldfusion MX is easy to start learning and use. It's strength lies in its collaboration with other Macromedia MX software such as flash, fireworks. It is not as widely use as PHP, JSP or ASP these days ever since it has been bought over by Macromedia. If you want free and cheap solutions, php and jsp will suit you better. The setting up of coldfusion is easy too as compared to php or jsp. Both php and jsp will require you to have basic knowledge of setting up webservers and plug-ins.
