cPanel and bandwidth

I would like to ask, would using my cPanel to send emails, upload files, etc increase my bandwidth usage? I need to clarify this in case I overshoot my bandwidth! :0

as i know u can send mail and upload files by cpanelbut u can't change the bandwith on itu should pay for your addtional bandwith i think, except the owner give u a special offer

He is asking if using cPanel to send emails takes some of his monthly bandwidth. example: say he has 2gb/month bw, and he sends 100 emails @ 1 meg each does he only have 1gb of bw left after sending his emails.Am I correct or misinterpreting the question?

Yeah that's what I meant. I believe if you use Cpanel's functions, it does increase your bandwidth usage, although I can't be sure. Can anyone clarify?thanks

I dont think so. Because cpanel is run on another port of the webhost, it shouldnt use any bandwidth.

I don't tihnk it counts toward your bandwidth usage. I tihnk emails do however and they count towards your space depending on how many emails are stored on the server. Bandwidth usage is counted against you also when you look at your website. But cPanel? no I do not think so.

yes i also think it won't count your bandwidth when you use your bandwidth.But i think email maight counts, it is because it counts bandwidth when people downloading thins fron your website,it is the same to use your bandwidth when you send somethings to others.That's why i think i might count.In addtion,using a ftp to upload do not count bandwidth,because you are just upload , not viewing your web site.

JUST TO CLARIFY:

Only traffic to your website (port 80) counts as bandwidth. Email, FTP and cPanel access don't count as bandwidth, but email storage is counted in your space limit. is this what you meant?

FTP does count, and only a very small amount will be used by emails so dont worry.

Yeah, both FTP and email count for your bandwidth usage. It's in the FAQ.

So uploading files counts against you or just downloading via FTP?What happens when you exceed your monthly bandwidth allocation? Does your account just lock up until the next month?

FTPing either up or down counts, if you reach your limit, you will probably just be diverted back to Xisto.com or you will get an error message, if your using your site heavvilly iw ouldnt recomend Xisto but i dont thinkl your gonna get around say what 20,000 memebrs a month are you?

no using mail feature in cpanel will not consume bandwidth. this bandwidth is taken from your host and not from you.
