The Removal Of A Topic, Is it possible?

Recommended Posts

After searching the edit window very deeply the opinion rises that there is no option do delete a topic. But it is possible that the button to delete a topic is overlooked.

Mods can, you cant.I believe if you make a new topic you can delete it before other people reply (not sure though)Moderators can remove any topic they want according to the TOS and common sense.

If you want a topic to be removed or deleted, use the report button found at the bottom left of your post. Fill out the form telling us that you would like your topic removed. We'll get to the report as soon as we can.

A question is if the myCENTS earnt with the topic will stay or not. Maybe the myCENTS disappear when a topic gets deleted.

inea, deleting a topic is NOT an option. there are reasons behind it. for instance, the topic starter and anyone who responded to the topic WILL LOSE their mycents. this wouldn't go over to well with people. the only way a mod will delete a topic is if it is considered spam and if the responses gave no true value to the forum or the search engines. i don't ever see a mod deleting a topic solely on the request of a member. so in other words....if you created a topic that you want deleted and people have already responded to it, chances are VERY unlikely it will be deleted. even if you think you have a right to have it deleted since you started the topic. it doesn't work that way.

there are other reasons why a topic wont be deleted, but this one i stated was related to your mycents question. so yes.....all mycents earned from that topic will be reversed which may cause a negative mycents balance.

Lets suppose this example happens. Somebody starts a topic. After some time the topic starter realizes the topic could infringe the rules. Or some other members indicate that the topic can break the rules of the forum. So the topic starter might like the topic to be removed. Or the topic starter wants to change the content of the topic. It is possible that somebody changes the mind about the content of a topic. Changing what the topic is about is a sort of deleting the content too.

I still don't get it.

If you simply READ the rules then there's no reason to claim you didn't know you were breaking them. Therefore, what is the point of asking what happens if you break them?

And if you changed a topic it would hurt EVERYONE who has ever posted in it. You would be screwing everyone else over. What is the point in that?

You clearly don't comprehend the concept of a "community," and based on all of your posts and threads it is blatantly obvious that you care about nobody but yourself and what benefits you may (or may not at this point) receive at the expense of everyone else.

Quit being such a jerk and either join because you WANT to or get out. Seriously, you're like a child and it is the most annoying thing I've ever dealt with on this site so far.

Like anwiii said there are only a few reasons for a topic to be deleted and with your example, you can request to add something to your original posts but it wouldn't make much sense if other people have replied to it and so it just makes common sense to make another post to add any additional comments to your post and of course respond to other peoples posts. As for why users cannot delete their own posts and topics is the delete option is universal, meaning you be able to delete anyone's topics or posts either because you don't like what they have said or don't like the person in general. Again like anwiii already stated any topics or posts that are deleted the amount of Mycents earned in those posts will be removed as well and since there is a time limit on which you can edit your posts make sure it is what you want to say before hitting submit.
