eInfiniti 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2009 Well, I would recommend a Honda Fit. Its name suggests that it will fit anywhere. So, I would guess that it is the right size for your mom. Based on my personal experience, Honda builds very high quality vehicles. By that, I primarily mean reliability. It is a good idea to recommend to your mom with a few models with high reliability so that she will have the least possibility of not being able to go somewhere when she needs to or being stuck somewhere in the middle of a trip. I believe reliability is the most important quality of cars.
showtime 0 Report post Posted December 26, 2009 Just this afternoon my mum has bought a black Ford Focus 1.6 Thanks everyone for all your help and advice - it was incredibly useful and helpful, and made the whole process a lot easier. However, it still seems like the colour was the most important consideration on her mind I got an 1.6 black ford focus mk2, great car. Does 9l at 100km in town, and i belive is quite much but its the full opitons model so i belive its a bit heavy. I like the color too, it fits perfectly.Anyway i heard that later this summer, Ford will begin rolling out its innovative MyKey technology, which is designed to help parents encourage their teen-agers to drive safer and more fuel efficiently, and increase safety-belt usage, with i think is total crap. k_nitin_r 8 Report post Posted May 6, 2010 Hi!I'm pretty sure that everyone who mentioned the Toyota up here in this thread would definitely not recommend it now with all of the defects that have been discovered in their vehicles. I've still got one of their units with the so-called un-intended acceleration but the problem isn't related to the accelerator pedal - that only occurs when the temperature goes low enough.I haven't really heard much about the Ford Focus, but I do hear that the Ford Mondeo is a real value for money. You shouldn't expect to have good resale value for the Ford Mondeo though because it is quite affordable so anybody who sets out to go and get one would buy a new one rather than get a used Ford Mondeo. I've never actually driven one and have never been in one, so I have nothing much to say about it except that BBC's Top Gear reviewed it once and mentioned about it as the best value car that one can get. mandla 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2010 (edited) i have never own a small toyota but my family has always had Fords and TOyota pickup truck and I can say I have a lot of trust in the Ford Brand. If I was to suggest anything, I'd say geta second hand Ford Escort or the Focus because my sister has a focus and It has never given her any trouble. It runs ok I have never heard her complain about it so I' would assume the consumption aint to bad either. My first car was a Ford Escort and so was my Best Buddy's first car and he eventually had to up grade as he had kids and his wife wanted to go all posh and get a Volvo. But he's always said to me Mandla if you want a brilliant reliant fuel efficient car FOrd Escort is your car you can never go wrong he says. And I believe him cause in the 4 years I had an escort I never had one single problem even though mine was probably a twelfth hand cause it have 11 previous owners. Looking at that I was only a teen and got my license you all know how teens are in cars not dangerous but you are still in experiemental mode. You do a lot of stuff you never do when you are older and wiser. So for me I'd suggest an escort or Focus becaause I later had an escort for 5 years and I eventually gave that to my younger sister when she got her license and she's never had any problems with it. It sails through MOT and she loves it. If you were talking about bigger family cars I'd have said Citroen Xantia or C5 because I have own both and they were even more perfect than the Escort. but thats a whole new topic and its not what you asked about.
