Recommended Posts

I live with my dad. So I dont have to worry about the mom thing.. I usually just tell him to cover his eyes, that this isnt appropriate for him to view. LOL.It is awkward though, to say the least.Amby

Uhhh.... right, dude.

Anyway, most people would feel uncomfortable with their parents in any situation involving sex. It's normal, but not necessarily a good thing. Parents are afraid of talking to their kids about sex because they're afraid of exposing their children to it and possibly turning them into little perverts or something, I dunno. Either way, because of the way society is structured nowadays, sex is more commonly accepted as part of everyday human life, but when it comes to communication on the subject between a child and his or her parents, it's a lost cause. Seeing it on TV with them in the same room is even worse. It's just a result of their upbringing. It may even be the same with you and your kids some day.

my parents are quite open about society's taboos, i can communicate with them and they don't hide me almost nothing.but TV is not the best way to learn about sex. it's something that must be discussed at home and school. yes! school...in Uruguay, a little country in Latin America, most of 6th grade classes (11 years kids) have teachers who study sexologic-related stuff. I had one, and we had talks with in the class, and talked about HIV, condoms, develop, etc; and did meetings with our parents.

The sad thing is, the porn industry makes so much money a year as one of the highest-grossing industries in the US, because people can't seem to get enough of it, yet at the same time, they try to hide it.Has anyone noticed that the "Relevant Links" in this thread are all porn related?

Hi:When to my it passed that to me could not stop to smile to me, they gave outbursts of laughter me, I I believe that it is by the nervousness of the moment, but never it was put to give me to speeches nor nothing of that, simply it took it as something natural and that are as I at this moment feel, like a natural thing, sex are natural and are necessary to think it of that way, does not have to be reason for shame. They are very open and it can be cool but it can also be EXTREMELY disturbing :o but then again after a while u dont notice it as badly :D

I remembering watching Titanic in theaters with my parents when I was 10 years old or so. The infamous drawing scene caused some immense discomfort. And when Leo and Ms. Winslet got it on in the car? Forget about it.

I try to avoid such situations at all costs at this point. Granted, I am seventeen, but there's nothing wrong with being a little bit extra cautious, is there? Heh, heh...

Yeah, I remember this, too. We were in the movie theaters, and all of a sudden, Kate Winslet's clothes came off, and I was like, "oh man, get me out of here" because my parents were there. They were not sitting close to me, but they were there nonetheless.

If I'm watching a movie where someone talks about sex, and my parents walk in, I just get up. That way, they can't say anything because I did not see the scene. Once it's over, I go back to the TV and continue watching normally :o

These scenes, or the entire movie altogether (if you know what I mean), are not meant to be watched with another person or else you get this awkward feeling.
