Most reputable Domain Sellers will allow you to move the Domain around to another Domain Service and to set the Domain to point to a different Web Hosting Service, simply set the Domain name Servers to their DNS. Xisto/Xisto/Xisto - Web Hosting allows you to Transfer Domain Names and set the DNS via your Billing Account at Xisto - Support.com. Find the link in the Pink bar above the Shoutbox. xpress 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2008 (edited) 1. Yes. You can buy a domain at Xisto and can host your website at another hosting provider. Just you need to point your name servers at you domain to that hosting provider. 2. If you don't like hosting services from that hosting provider you can anytime switch your site to another hosting service. Here also you just need to change your name servers and point them to your new servers. You don't have to take any permission from them for the domain because you own the domain. And that domain you bought at Xisto is no way related to those hosting companies. So you can change your hosting at any time. If you also want to transfer your domain registered at Xisto you have to do it through Xisto - Domains(domain name service of Xisto - Web Hosting).3. To say it in simple terms name servers will tell where your website is located. And yes nameservers are related to your problem. (since you just want to change the hosting service) Edited December 22, 2008 by xpress (see edit history)

Yes, this is possible. Your hosting provider will give you the details for their nameservers. You are asked for these when you purchase your domain. Simply enter the details given to you by your hosting provider and the domain will point to their hosting. Next if I don't like the hosting services from that provider then is it possible to shift the hosting from that provide to some other's anytime when I like without any permission of the previous provider if so what is the procedure of the same. You are free to switch your hosting provider at any time - just make sure you take a backup of all your files, databases and emails first. Contact your hosting provider and tell them you want to leave. They will cancel your contract (or let it carry on for however long you have paid for in advance). Then just buy hosting somewhere else and restore all your files. Then, change the nameservers for all your domains to those needed for your new hosting provider. Basically what is concept of name server is it related to my problem or not. A nameserver is a computer which holds a list of web addresses and a list of IP addresses, and can be used to look up the relation between the two. For example, given a domain it can tell you the IP address of the computer in charge of that domain. Each domain has nameservers related to it, and these hold the details about where the actual website can be found.
